I moved back to Austin from Chicago five years ago and for a while, I would fly back to Chicago because I could not find a stylist in Austin that could do my hair. I finally found Kera and I have been coming to this salon for the past 3 years and I love everything about it! They never overbook, so you do not have to wait long for your service to begin. The staff are all professional, funny and intelligent women. The music is low & respectful. They provide snacks and beverages. The salon is clean and the seating is very comfortable. A huge plus is having the ability to book your appointments online and prior to your appointment, you will receive an email as well as a text confirmation.

When I tell you these ladies were beyond accommodating and simply amazing is an understatement. I had an appointment scheduled via Styleseat and deposit paid and that stylist cancelled on me while driving to my appointment. I pulled over and literally searched salons that catered to African American women. From the beginning Mechelle(sorry if I misspelled your name) was so accommodating and sweet. She paired me with Shawdae who not only slayed my hair but gave me pointers on how to take care of my own hair. I ended up getting a Traditional sew-in and tight curls. They absolutely saved my day and I’m forever grateful for them. It’s hard to find a good hair stylist in Austin! I promise you they will not disappoint from customer service to being serviced.

I went in to have a serious haircut. I wanted a pixie-like do on my naturally curly hair. It came out PERFECT! I left the salon feeling more confident than when I first walked in! Love this place!

I first visited MeKer Beautique when I urgently needed to get my hair fixed after a poor experience at another salon, just before traveling abroad. In the midst of a stressful situation, Kera showed incredible kindness, patience, and talent. Because of how she handled everything, I trusted her with my hair for my wedding, and I’m so glad I did. After that, I became a regular at the salon. I also had the pleasure of being styled by Shawdae, who was also very talented. The salon was always clean and professional, and the team has created a warm, friendly environment. I have since moved away, and truly miss the exceptional service I used to receive at MeKer Beautique.

I took my 12 year old son there after seeing several referrals for curly hair. Everyone was very welcoming and sweet to him. Kayla did an amazing job on his hair, did exactly what he asked for, and he loved it. It's also a beautiful salon with snacks and drinks available.

Kera is absolutely heaven sent! She used to do my hair a several years ago before I moved out of Austin. I moved back to Austin a couple of years ago and made the mistake of going to someone new for my hair due to availability (because I wasn’t being patient) and ended up with damaged/broken hair due to that stylist sneaking chemicals in my hair unknowingly to me. I came back to Kera with my confidence destroyed because my hair is a lot to me. Kera has been so patient and nurturing with my hair (as always) and has already helped re-strengthen my hair after a few sessions. She came up with a plan on the spot and is nurturing my hair back to health. I’m so incredibly thankful to Kera for helping restore my confidence in myself and making me feel so beautiful.

Mechelle did such a wonderful job on my hair. I was so worried that my hair was really dry and damaged but she brought it back to life with just some treatments and a really good trim. My hair looks so healthy and bouncy! I'm definitely going to come back and have Mechelle help me with my hair!

I wear my hair in its natural state, so it was important for me to find beauticians who are nice, provide excellent service, are knowledgeable about natural hair and would care about my hair more than I do. I found those people at Meker Beautique. Kera and Meshell have done an amazing job caring for my natural hair which is now healthier and longer than it has ever been. MeKer Beautique is a beauty haven in Austin for a hair salon specializing in Black hair. Easy online booking, timely services, and adorable touches like drinks, snacks, and cute decor make it perfect. They really thought of everything to make the salon a comfortable, stylish place. Kera, Meshell, and Brenda are such a great team and work seamlessly together so appointments run smoothly. It’s also worth noting that I work remotely and love that it’s so easy to do from the salon, if needed.

One of the few salons in Austin catered towards women of color. I’ve been a client of Kera, ( Co-owner) for 5 years now. When I moved to ATX from Wisconsin, I was so nervous about finding a beautician. I cannot stress enough how lucky I am to have found Kera. She is extremely talented, professional and passionate about her craft. Plus she does bomb hair cuts and sew-ins! The products the salon uses are top of the line ranging from Olaplex, Purology, Moroccan, and other luxury lines. Their hair line is always high quality. Prices are very reasonable and they offer a wide variety of services. Clients are truly given a luxury experience every visit. The salon is beautifully decorated and always kept clean. You feel special during your visit. I am beyond proud of Kera and Meshell (co-owner) for their success! Keep up the awesome, awesome work ladies! You are needed here in Austin!

The ladies at Meker always get it right EVERYTIME! The service is exceptional and the salons atmosphere is welcoming to all people. When you come to Meker you leave feeling beautiful both inside and out. Every experience I’ve had is full of laughter and cheer.
