So I traveled here from Atlanta to get my hair done before thanksgiving with my family and before my weekend trip out of town. My regular hair lady who’s done my hair for over 10+ years had to cancel on me because of an emergency. I looked up salons that do curly perms on black hair and this came up and I talked to Melanee on the phone on Saturday. She was very nice and said she’d do my hair on Monday at 11:00 am. I get a text with the booking confirmation for the wrong day and time (for a day I would not be in Tampa so I knew I never agreed to that), but just shrugged it off because maybe it had to look like that for booking/availability purposes. I come in at 10:55 today and wait and the lady who’s here asks why I am here and I said I have an appointment with Melanee. she asked if she was going to be in today and I said she told me she would. I waited 40 minutes for Melanee and the lady came back to me and said Melanee told her she’s not coming in today and not doing my hair but that she would do it for me. I then informed her that on the phone Melanee said only she can do perms and that’s why she booked my appointment herself instead of me doing it, but she ensured me she could which makes me very weary if the owner is telling me only she can do perms. Again I’m very weary with who does my hair especially when it comes to chemicals hence me going to the same beautician for 10+ years and traveling state lines to get my hair done. I sit in the chair and asked if she had carefree curl and she didn’t know what I was talking about (I told Melanee this is what I used and she assured me that could use it) and she instead showed me a relaxer and said it was much better. I said no I want my hair curly and she said she couldn’t do that so I ended up leaving as I should’ve done in the first place. ETA: After seeing Melanee's response, there was nothing to fix on my part as this is YOUR business and you should be a professional instead of snarky reviews. I see from other reviews that you have issues with keeping your schedule straight so maybe work on that instead of blaming it on customers.

I came in for a Keratin treatment and it was wonderful!! My hair is so soft and straight! Melanee was very kind and the studio was lovely! I definitely recommend!

This hair salon messed up my daughter's hair. The color was suppose to be red and it's a pink and blonde color. Her hair is falling out and she was charged over $ 200.00 dollars. I told her to go back to the salon. Ridiculous how her hair looks. Of course the owner would say no record of the visit. Its a true review and it happened. My daughter was nice enough not to complain.

Ridiculous time management & customer service. I made an appointment for my mother with dementia and confirmed it with the studio. I explained to them her situation and how it's difficult to get her out of the house. I even received confirmation texts from them assuring me that my time was locked in to bring my mother. When we arrived on time, not only was our stylist NOT there, but she wouldn't be in all day and our appointment was basically all for nothing because no one could take us. They said, "You can just go next door and wait for the lady there to be free." How rude and disrespectful, especially since they knew my mother's situation. Don't waste your time.

so I just moved to the area, I was in desperate need of finding a new hair dresser. I spent two weeks doing research and came across this salon. Best decision I ever made was calling Melanee. She fit me into her schedule the same day that I called, she took her time doing my hair, she’s so precise, and makes sure you like what she’s doing during the process. Very professional and friendly, great conversation, great vibes, and just overall amazing. I will most definitely be coming back every time

I came to Tampa to attend a wedding. I found Melanee’s Hair Studio online. I relaxed my hair and my daughter got a silkpress. The salon is beautiful and we were very pleased with the services, prices, and the professionalism.

Located inside of a beautiful plaza, there lies a chic hair salon where relaxation meets excellence. Ruled by hairdresser Melanee where she utilizes innovative hairstyling techniques. Melanee was my stylist and there was another lady which I did not get her name that was helping Melanee, they are both so kind and sweet and I adore them and their work. The other lady washed my hair and I almost fell asleep with her soft hands. Because it was closing time she had to sweep and mop and prepare for the next day. She cleaned windows and clean the floors so good that the place looked like a palace. She is awesome! They did such a good job, and I enjoyed their presence. Thank you everyone for making me feel welcome and offering me water/etc during my time here. I cannot say enough how good Melanee is at what she does. Total awesomeness coming from this salon. Thank you! I will definitely come back.

Melanee was excellent when giving me my perm and even encouraged me to get a color rinse. I wanted to try something new anyways and the color turned out amazing.

My daughter received her first silk press and it was out of this world. Her hair is super curly and I was amazed at how silky it became. Its been a little over a week and half and it still looks amazing! Will be returning fa sho. Lol

Terrible service. I came in for a walk-in as I was told would be okay to do only to walk-in and be told over speaker phone by the “manager” I needed to schedule an appointment online. She was very disrespectful and mind you there were no clients in the building just staff walking around half dressed. Disgusting. I requested a simple trim that wouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. If I could rate this place less than 1 star I would do so in a heartbeat.TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

This salon saved the day. My son got married in Tampa a couple of weeks ago, and this salon squeezed me in on short notice to straighten my hair and do beach curls. The humidity in Tampa is crazy, but my style lasted.

I went to Melanee’s for the first time today and got the best perm & trim I have had in forever. The shop was pretty, comfortable and clean. I loved how friendly and professional the staff was. Glad I found this place!
