I just went for my hair consultation and it was amazing, I was running a bit late, I did text to inform them and as soon as I arrive they were very welcoming. The receptionist had a great vibe and very helpful, I booked with Mieke and she help me find the perfect example of what hairstyle I wanted, she listen to my requests and gave great feedback. I’m just excited for my hair appointment 💖

Mieke is an incredible stylist and truly understands how to care for curly hair! I was thrilled to have Mieke style my natural curls for my wedding. The salon is a clean, bright, and inviting space. I also love that the salon is focused on environmental sustainability. I would highly recommend Menagerie!

I was honestly SO impressed with my visit to Menagerie. As a curly haired girl, I have been struggling to find a hair stylist that a) knows what to do with my hair, b) listens to my requests, and c) does not overcharge for having curly hair! I found all of this and more in Menagerie and Mieke specifically. I have always been told that my hair is damaged and needs special products, cuts, etc. to upcharge me and Mieke did a simple cut and shape and made it look AMAZING. This is my second day curls, and I am so impressed with the definition and softness that she was able to get. Mieke and the other stylists were so nice, along with the concierge at the front desk. Everybody was very accommodating and welcoming. My favorite part may have been the scalp massage, hot towel, and hand massage. It was so relaxing! I am already booked for highlights with Mieke because my search of stylists is over. You won’t be disappointed!

I have been seeing Nora for my hair for years and when she moved to Menagerie I was nervous at first but I'm happy to say I love it! Nora is phenomenal of course but the vibes and service here are great. Everyone seems happy, the salon is always full, and it feels like a pampering experience to come to my appointments. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming here and seeing Rosa for almost a year now and couldn’t be happier that I’ve finally found someone that I enjoy getting my hair cut by. She’s super helpful when it comes to deciding what style to go for and the best products to use. I can’t recommend her enough, she’s amazing!

Thanks to the wonderful care that Korina gave me today. She did such a wonderful job on my hair. She was kind as were all the other employees. Several offers of coffee or soda during my hair care time. As I am new to North Carolina, it was nice to find a new salon that offers such exceptional care including a head massage and a hand massage as well. I really felt spoiled today. Thanks again Korina, your awesome 👏 I will definitely be back😊

Absolutely love the environment and great customer service. I started going to my stylist larissa since November of last year and i love her. She has great communication from the start she did let me know she couldn’t get me to the color i was expecting but after a few more sessions she got the exact look i was going for , she always does an amazing job and makes me feel so comfortable i definitely recommend making an appointment . You won’t regret it

My daughter saw Shira today as we were told she was the best with curly hair and my daughter has a ton. She got us in last minute due to a cancelation and I could not be more thrilled. She listened to both what I wanted for my daughter’s hair and what my daughter wanted as well. She set expectations for us and talked us through every process. She taught us what to do and not do with her hair. She also corrected a botched color and brought life back to my daughter’s hair. We could not be more pleased. Her prices are 100% in line with the quality of work. We will be going back to her for her expertise and knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with her.

As a curly girl, it has been nearly impossible for me to find an affordable stylist who knows what to do with my curls--both how to cut and how to style. Korina did a FANTASTIC job, and she TAUGHT me better hair care. I can't wait to bounce and sproing around with my hair looking like a princess's instead of a sheep. 💜🐑

Color Service: Top notch customer service. Beautiful salon. Staff knowleadgeable and pleasant. Definitely understood curly hair and took care to manage my curl pattern beautifully. The hand and scalp massage were wonderful but hated my color. It was super light, extremely brassy with poor gray cover and left my hair terribly dry and brittle after the first wash. Honestly it could be the line they use. They don't use Goldwell, my usual. Again excellent curly hair care (a true rarity even with some so-called "specialists") so I may be back for general maintenance and styling but not for the color service.

My experience at Menagerie in Wendell was easily 5 star! It can be scary trying a new stylist or salon, and surprisingly I felt so calm and at ease. The service was top notch. I will definitely be back. Shira was my stylist. I chose her because of her curly hair specialty. I put my full trust in her, and I’m so glad I did! She was attentive, and took the time to educate me. She patiently answered all of my questions. She started me on what I’m calling my hair journey, and I can’t wait to learn more! I had the worst experience with Larissa. My first appointment was on 6/13 , we discussed color I showed her my inspo pic, she said she could get me close to it that’s it would be more of a caramel color. I was okay with that and for haircut I asked for face framing layers , layers in the back and for my hair to be thinned out. She was struggling to get me to the color that we had agreed to. After her 3rd attempt she started blow drying and asked how I liked it , I said it looked burgundy.. she tried one more time and I said I didn’t like it. She told me it would fade to the color I wanted it if I used blue shampoo and after it faded. She finished blow drying she said I had 1 week to call and try to get it fixed if I didn’t like it. The next day I styled it myself how I usually do. I noticed it was very brassy and the cut was uneven and she never thinned out my hair like I asked. I called the following Tuesday. They were quick to accommodate me have me come in to get my hair fixed. Larissa was so rude and aggressive. She was defensive about the whole situation. As soon as I sat down she said “ I didn’t mess up your hair , it was already uneven when you came in.” When it came to the color I said I didn’t like the brassiness and she suggested going a little darker to tone it down. I think we had different visions of how dark my hair would get, but as a stylist I believe she should have let me know . When she did the gloss and shampooed and started blow drying it . I told her she went too dark. She quickly became aggravated . She was rolling her eyes. She was saying smart comments, started talking to me real slow . She was slamming stuff. And I showed her the inspo pic once again and that’s when she said I wouldn’t be able to go that light because my hair is dark and that I would’ve ended up with what I had came in with that I didn’t like. The brassy color. Every time she kept saying brassy she would use air quotes.at one point she said “in case you didn’t know your hair is black” . At this point I didn’t like her attitude and i was uncomfortable. If she couldn’t get me to the the color I wanted she should have told me the first time I went. Shira saw me my one and only time I visited Menagerie. She did an amazing job with my blonde highlights and color! However, she refused to give me layers because she said my hair was too thin. I have VERY curly hair and it gives a triangle effect if I don't have layers. I was disappointed she wouldn't listen to how I wanted it cut. For $300 the client should get what they ask for. I haven't and won't return.

Getting my hair done at Menagerie is such a relaxing experience. Korina is my stylist and waved her magic wand and took me from brunette to red and I’ll never go back. I truly feel I can trust her expertise. The salon environment is wonderful and I feel like someone has hit the reset button when I leave. Thank you to the whole team 😊

New in town and looking for hair stylist, I made an appointment with Shari for color and cut@The Menagerie Style House. Shari is a kind, authentic and experienced hair stylist who listens well. She updated my hair cut expertly and blended just the right color for my hair and skin tone. Highly recommend!
