An absolute disaster. I trusted this shop to be the first to ever trim my beard, and that was the worst mistake. Uneven, lopsided, and didn't even listen to what I actually wanted done. If I could rate zero stars I would. I would suggest that anyone looking for beard work, stay very far away.

I cannot recommend Amelly and Groom My Style enough. She is truly the best stylist I’ve ever had. From the moment you sit in her chair, you can tell how much she genuinely cares about her clients. She takes her time to ensure every detail is perfect. My hair grows fast, and every time I see Amelly her haircut & beard trim make me feel like a new man! Not only is she an amazing stylist, but she’s also warm, kind, and so much fun to talk to. I always leave her chair feeling not only refreshed and confident but also like I’ve had a great catch-up with a friend. She’s incredibly professional and makes sure to listen to exactly what you want, while also offering expert advice to make sure your hair looks amazing. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond and makes every appointment feel like a luxurious experience, Amelly is your person. She’s an absolute gem, and I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with my hair!

Update: It felt appropriate to update my review and give a shoutout to the new stylist Amelly. After going to Derek exclusively for a couple of years I was reluctant to try someone else, but I needed a cut quickly and Derek wasn't available. I can confidently say that Amelly did an outstanding job - Derek came out to give a few pointers as to how I like it and she delivered flawlessly. Groom My Style is a true local gem. Derek is a superb stylist and the salon is unique in terms of atmosphere. I look forward to each visit and come out looking great.

It had been over a year since I had my haircut. Lost my previous stylist and didn't have faith I would find another as good. Went to get food one evening and Amelly happened to slip me her card in passing. I sat on it for a good month before finally making the decision to make the appointment. I couldn't be happier!! I had hair down to my shoulders so she had some work ahead of her. She was knowledgeable, knew how to do a consult, and was able to take my hair and transform it completely. She started with a blank canvas and didn't make a single mistake in the hour+ I was in her chair. This is the place you're looking for so make your appointment. I can assure that you won't be disappointed. Plus, the atmosphere is amazing. You'll feel like you've been going there for years even if it is your first appointment.

I’ve been getting my haircut with Buck for almost a year now and I hope never to go anywhere else. First of all, nobody cuts a man’s hair like Buck. But he’s got everything else too. Want a drink with your haircut? Done. Late and worried about parking? There’s always parking at Groom My Style. He even brings his personal tailor in a few times a year for his clients. I had a blazer and three shirts made last time! Cannot recommend Groom My Style enough.

Amazing experience!!! We are from out of town but getting married in Annapolis so needed a place for my fiancé to get his haircut before the big day. We tried another close by, chain type place which was an epic fail. We quickly found Groom My Style and Derek saved the day. He salvaged my fiancé’s haircut and turned it into the best haircut he’s ever had! The salon was super clean, friendly, and an amazing vibe. We can’t wait to come back whenever we are in town! Derek Williams has been taking care of my hair (whatever is left of it) for a few years now. He manages to do an excellent job regardless of the tough challenges my thinning scalp manages to present to him. I’m happy to support a minority owned business that adds a touch of class to that area of Annapolis.

First of all a man will travel for miles to receive a good haircut. That being said, my son and I have been getting our hair cut since with Derek since 2004. Since he’s opened his own establishment, it has allowed his professionalism, style and comfort to shine through. Derek is extremely talented and provides a Hollywood style service for all races and ethnicities. He also provides massage services and sets the ambiance of you being in a comfortable environment. If you want the best haircut in the DMV, go visit Groom My Style.

For over 10 years I have been going to Derrick for my beard and hair cuts. One of the best things is I have never had a bad cut, knowing the results will be great every time is really good feeling and Derrick is just a outstanding person as well. Derek has an unparalleled talent for barbering; every haircut and shave I've received from him has been nothing short of exceptional. Today, I had the pleasure of experiencing a Thai massage from Yudi, and it was mind-blowingly good—easily the best massage of my life. Her techniques were superb, and I walked out feeling like a new man. The atmosphere of the shop is welcoming and comfortable, making every visit a genuine pleasure. I have never received more compliments on a haircut. Ever. I had a reliable hair stylist/ / barber that got me compliments. I moved from VA to MD. Tried to find someone knew. People would react like, it’s nice, but meh. Found Mary at Grooming My Style. She is great, the experience/convo was great. Walked out feeling like a million bucks. But of course, they were hyping me on the way out. But the guy did seem sincere, like, damn, I saw you come in…. Went for coffee at my usual spot and they talking bout James Bond, you look great. Got home. My girlfriend was visibly shook. Seriously. Shook. Went to a party to see old friends, they were like “you look amazing’. All to say: I have never, ever, had so many compliments. Mary is a master, the proof is in the look on other people’s faces. Thank you, Mary. You made my day great. I found a new home.

I highly recommend GROOM MY STYLE for your next hair appointment!! The location has a fantastic and professional environment ans space. The entire staff is very welcoming! I have been booking with Derek for over 12 years and have never enjoyed my experience and professional service anywhere else. Now my son (4yrs old) who has been getting his haircut with Derek only wants to go to GROOM MY STYLE! 5 star, top-notch spot!

I normally don't write reviews often but I had to for this one. I got my haircut by Derek a couple of weeks ago and felt welcomed and at home from the moment I walked through the door. The place itself is immaculate. I liked the way they had everything set up. Derek has his own little VIP room where he cuts hair! I felt like a celebrity in there. VIP treatment is guaranteed! One thing to note: This is NOT a barbershop. It's much more than that. They literally groom your style and know exactly what to do with your hair to help you looking your very best. I highly recommend Groom My Style in Annapolis. It doesn't get any better!
