Love this place! I came in for a hair wash, cut, and blowout. Jimmy is so talented. He listened to my requests and offered his own recommendations on styling, which turned out stunning. Amazing service all around. Very reasonable price for NYC.

AMAZING!! They are super nice and understanding and when they wash your hair is so relaxing! 10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend for hair cuts. They make sure that what u ask for is what u get,very gentle, and a very clean bathroom. Absolutely a 5 stars!!

Jimmy was absolutely incredible! Such a talented hairdresser, who cut my curly hair back into its curl, adding fantastic layers and finished it off with a brilliant blowout. I couldn’t recommend Jimmy any higher- he was really great listener, generous and gracious, with a great sense of what style would flatter and enhance my features. I’m so grateful to Jimmy for restoring my curl and for his light touch and fashionable cut.

Had a wonderful experience at MessLook Hair and Spa! I was attended to immediately upon arrival, and the entire session, from the haircut to the blowout, took less than an hour. My stylist, Jimmy, was amazing and friendly. Even though there was a slight language barrier (english vs. mandarin), I was still able to get my desired look by showing an inspo photo. He was reassuring and asked for my approval during the haircutting process to make sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend and will be coming back again!

I have being going to Messlook for 5 years, and my stylist name is Ricky. I just show him my Pinterest photos and he got it better job than my inspiration photos. Service is always fast and pleasant. Now I live in Williamsburg that this is far traveling but still Messlook is my favorite hair salon.

No wait, took me in immediately without an appointment. Got my hair washed, blown and curled with iron. Walked in a mess and walked out looking fabulous. Also the hair wash was amazing w lots of head massages. The best! Will come back again!!!

Even though I'm from Chinatown, I've never been to MESSLOOK before. I remember seeing them open many years ago when I was a teenager and I thought they were so fancy. When you step in, it's a spacious waiting space and I was greeted immediately by Jimmy. I waited a while for him to finish wrapping up with his previous client and then he was ready to see me. I went over what I was looking for (short layers but my hair cut straight) and he delivered. There was a language barrier, but Jimmy did great with making sure I was okay with everything before he committed to each cut.

I came in right before Christmas for a haircut for the holidays, and was really glad I did! My hairstylist was Jimmy, and although I didn't speak Mandarin, there were people available at the salon who could translate what I wanted and I think this team really nailed it. I asked for layers with more volume at the top and for the length of my hair to still be read as "long." I had very long hair, almost down to hips, and Jimmy made sure to ask how long I wanted it before he made the first cut. It came out very flattering, and my mom spent all of Christmas talking about how much she liked it haha.

My first time at MessLook and Jimmy was so wonderful. I sent him two inspo pics and he told me which would best suit my face shape and also gave me tips on how to style my hair in the future! He was so friendly — I spoke to him solely in Mandarin but there are plenty of people around to help translate if you don’t speak Mandarin. Would definitely recommend his services!
