I had a disappointing experience at Milliy’s Salon and feel compelled to share it. I contacted them in advance, explaining that I had already washed my own hair and simply needed a blow dry today 11/12. I was quoted a starting price of $55, which could rise to $80 or more depending on hair length. When I mentioned that my hair is 22 inches long, I was told it would be assessed in person, which sounded reasonable at the time. I drove an hour to get to the salon, only to be told to take a seat and wait. After 30 minutes of waiting, I noticed only two stylists were working, which I hadn’t been informed about beforehand. I mentioned to the stylist that it would have been considerate to let me know they were understaffed and busy when I called, as I could have gone elsewhere. Her response was dismissive and rude, saying she didn’t have to explain that to me. When I pointed out that her attitude was unprofessional and I might not return, she simply said, “That’s not my problem.” Overall, I was shocked by the lack of courtesy and poor communication at Milly’s Dominican Salon, I did not have this experience in the past when the other lady is there. If you’re looking for respectful customer service and transparency, I would recommend finding another salon.

I inquired about a blow out service for my husband’s hair and she just flat out giggled and said no without an explanation however accepted my best friend as a walk in client in front of our face who has a softer curl pattern. This wasn’t a good experience and very disrespectful for a business that specializes in textured hair. She’s super unprofessional.

I can say I’ll never go to this shop again. The lady that did my hair the first chair when you walk in is amazing and professional but the others are just so mean and don’t care about your hair. I been going to place for years and never seen it this bad. I also never seen so many roaches in my life, the lady actually had to stop doing my hair to kill two of them, if you plan on going please leave all your valuable in your car.

I got a wash and set, permanent color and deep condition. Paula did my wash and hair dye and Kathy did the rest. My hair looks and feels so nice and healthy. Everyone was nice and I'll definitely be back.

I just came to leave a review and say that when I came in, I was offered some very, very delicious empanadas and some water. I immediately felt comfortable. I have been practicing trust exercises, and as someone who only allows her mother—or herself—to do her hair, this was an important exercise for me because it meant trusting strangers with my hair. But Yesi washed and set my hair, and Josi gave me an excellent sssseca and added beautiful curls sin una plancha! Oh, y un recorte también! Omg!!!! For reference, my hair is 3b/3c textured. Josi wrapped my hair con el tubi. I am so satisfied with the results! I love it! It was raining, so I was given a plastic cap, which was so kind.

I was having one of those off days, and I needed to get my hair done but couldn't wait to book with my hair girl. So I decided to just get it washed instead and figured I try this specific salon. The wash lady attempted to comb through my natural hair and because it was "too" thick, (keep in mind she did not attempt to comb from bottom up, or in sections) she put in a "conditioner" that made it manageable for her but devastating for me I no longer have my natural curls. Side note, I am from NY so I am no stranger to a Dominican wash and set, and a good blow out, however these people (Milly's Staff) do not care about your hair, nor the health your hair.

This is the only place i go to get a silk press and i love it. The energy is always high, today they gave out empanadas and drinks. They are fast too, and my hair always reverts back to its natural state with one wash after getting a service done by them. I love it here, definitely come check them out!!!

Waste of time and money and I was in the salon for FIVE hours to leave with my hair unfinished😂 I told them I would just like to pay and leave then they charged me $20 extra bc my hair was “thick” $100 for my hair to not even be styled??? Will not return

Always a great experience. They do an amazing job every time, and unlike others my natural curls bounce back no problems. Everyone is friendly and speaks to you when you some in. And they have sooooooo many repeat customers . I’ve gotten my color touched up in addition to regular wash and set with deep condition.

I have been going here on and off for a while and the silk presses are always up to par HOWEVER, I went today to get a braid down for a crochet style I wanted to do on myself and I can't braid my own hair down so I came here. They charged me $80.00 for a simple braid down. I support great customer service but this was definitely a price gouge. There is no reason why a braid down should be more than a silk press but I know not to do this again! Just wanted to give someone else a heads up!

My hair is radiant and growing. Everyone makes you feel like family! The wash, conditioning and setting for the dryer, awesome! The finishing touch of my press and curly is first class all the way. I always leave with a SMILE! I highly recommend all the Hair Technicians at Milly's Dominican Hair Salon. I received so many compliments on my hair. I thank God really for the best Hair Salon that cares about you and your hair.

I drove one whole hour and requested a specific hair stylist they try to get every dollar and squeeze people in between then I have to wait for the stylist I requested , unprofessional I’m very picky about anyone who Touches my hair

To my sisters: Do Not go here!!! They are ripping your hair out at the wash bowl- then try to dry it out and flat iron over the torn pieces- which you won’t notice until it’s time to do your own hair! I don’t know if the people here are licensed hairstylists and hair washer or what. But let me tell you I have always had thick/long hair. my hair is now thin in the front part of my head where my edges are!!! After my blow out was worn/old and it was time for me to wash my hair/ I realized that my hair had spots where it looked like my hair was torn/ripped out! The front of my hair shaft is sooo thin. Never in my life have I experienced this I really am thinking about taking legal action because I am reading other negative reviews with the same experience. And I am so glad I did a before picture and after before getting my hair done. I highly do not recommend this shop unless you want to lose your curl pattern and get your hair torn out. I will no longer be going to any more Dominican shops after this experience.

I love Milly’s! I always leave the salon looking and feeling fabulous. Their prices are reasonable and the stylists are friendly. They open very early on the weekends and will get you in and out quickly.

Don’t go to them I have been natural for 3 years I wanted a silk press so I can start tracking my growth and learning my hair texture I have very curly FINE HAIR I got the silk press and got a protective style. Normally when I get a protective style my hair reverts back to normal no matter how many times I wash my hair it’s STILL straight !!!! It’s been 3 months since I got that silk press and haven’t put heat on my hair since they put a relaxer in the shampoo or the conditioner I’m crying right now ruined my whole natural hair journey

I am a natural girly & I decided to go to Milly’s because I’ve never had a silk press before, and I wanted to go somewhere that was reasonably priced. I went and it was a speedy process despite having a lot of people in the shop at the time. My press lasted for bout a week and a half & that was awesome because I sweat in my head a lot. I washed my hair today and my curls came back perfectly fine. I would recommend to anyone

Poor service! False advertisement! They is high as hell. The lady said sew in starts at $125 and when I got there they charge by pack of hair! I brought 3 packs of hair from beauty supply store. She used 2 packs of hair and she charged me $250 and it is a rip off! Waste of my time my tracks was showing and u no dang on well that with sew in your tracks should not be showing! Then got nerve charge me $60 to fix your damn mistake. Then I tell lady got to be work at 1:30 and I been sitting here for almost 3 hours so I’m telling y’all do not let these people do your hair they are unprofessional!

STOP & READ THIS!! DO NOT USE THIS SALON! I stopped in here to get my hair done and did not look at the reviews. I’m a natural curly girl. CURLY FROM ROOT TO TIP! My hair IMMEDIATELY reverts back to curly. I just washed my hair and my hair is darn near all straight. I washed it SIX TIMES and going for a SEVENTH!!!! They are absolutely putting relaxer in their shampoo/ conditioner and I went in for a quick service! No deep conditioner!!!!! I’ve been natural since 2016 and they have completely and I mean completely screwed me!! I have extremely fine hair so it doesn’t take much!!! I was wondering why my hair smelled like a million chemicals especially at the gym! These pics are on freshly washed and AIR DRIED HAIR! It’s not been blow dried or stretched!! I’m heart broken!!!

So I wanted to start going to a Dominican shop to just treat myself, and I Googled Dominican salon and Millys came up ,so I read through some of the reviews and decided to go. Well, I went, and this young lady by the name of Soray who welcomed me shampooed, deep conditioned, and trimmed my ends was and still is awesome. To make a long story, I walked out of that salon singing Mary J Blige song "JUST FINE". This salon is like hot sauce, I recommend it to everyone.
