This was my 1st time having my hair Braided in 10 years & I was skeptical due to past experience, Mimi made my hair Braiding experience this time enjoyable, she was fast, nice & her prices was fair. I recommend Mimi African shop to all, I will be returning!👍🏽😊

Didn’t do the style I requested wasn’t considerate for my hair or scalp and was ripping my hair out during the whole process don’t recommend guys going to her to get your hair done she’s gonna do what’s easiest for her.

EXPERIENCE FROM HELL!!! 3 biggest complaints: 1). Unprofessional 2) No personality 3) Discriminates against whites (Please read further for horrifying experience/explanation of these claims) So I had booked with her approximately 2-3 weeks prior to my appointment, at a time that she picked, which was 8:30am. I live over an hour away and schedule childcare in order to be there. I texted to confirm the time. She tried to move my appointment to 12pm... I told her no later than 10am, otherwise I am canceling. She agreed on 10am, after I told her that I shouldn't have to accommodate period. I go to the appointment, as soon as I walk in She says that she is charging me an extra $20 because I am white. She seemed irritated at this. I said "we have talked on the phone, I just assumed that you knew that I was white, plus you never asked". So then she started saying that a lot of black people will not braid white peoples hair (lies I get my hair braided once a year and have went many different places, the hairstylists are always friendly and never charge me more for being white). So anyways, I was like whatever because I just wanted my hair done. Then some woman calls and wants her to do her hair. She literally asks me if she can. I sit there in disbelief and I said nothing because if she did I already had my mind made up that I was leaving! But it didn't happen because the woman did not have cash, which is a requirement to be seen there. Finally, I am in the chair to get my hair done. I had provided the hair for her to use, which she complained about. I feel like she was purposely being rough because she had some problem with me. She did not give me what I asked for, she just braided it however she wanted to. Then her kids screamed and cried the whole time. She actually took a lunch break during my hair braiding session. She had her phone playing very loudly some African speaking woman that I had no clue what she was saying. It would have been nice to watch TV or something for entertainment, since she basically refused to talk with me, until the end of the appointment when she wanted a tip and to try to sell me something. She was also talking on the phone to her friends, family, other clients, and apparently someone who does work for her. Ironically, she was trying to get $10 off a service, but had no problem upcharging me $20! At one point I couldn't stop laughing when I was getting my hair done because of the absurdity of this "appointment ". Needless to say I will never go back. Don't waste your money with this woman. She won't do what you ask, she will just give you the run around, and she thinks saying "please" and giving bogus compliments like "beautiful " blah blah blah will get her more money and whatever she wants. Ps beautiful statement was before she knew I was white 😋

First off this lady is so unprofessional. I had asked her for back length braids at the beginning but the braids she was doing was waist length. So I went ahead and asked her to do a butt length instead and she said it would cost an extra $50 which was I had no problem with. She told me she has a client at 12 and to come back at 3 to get the rest finished. I called at three she said she was waiting for someone. Whole time I am thinking to myself why can’t she finish it??? Cause it took her 3 hours to finish the roots, why does she an extra person to finish the tips. So I walked in and she was actually braiding someone else’s hair. Anyway after she was done she started mine then she started giving attitude. Like ma’am the roots were not even at all. My right side were small and the left side were huge. I literally paid $230 for this. Never again!!!

MiMi is fantastic! She is face paced and gets it done exactly how you want it. She is so worth it! I have been to her twice already and she is so professional, positive, kind, clean, and makes you feel beautiful and comfortable everytime! Mimi braided my hair for me on a Sunday she was very fast. I arrived at her house at 9:00am and was done by 1:30pm with micro braids. My head was not sore at all, and the braids are beautiful. Mimi is very polite and her home is very clean and that includes her restroom. I DEFINITELY DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HER!! She is one of kind a true rare find. Make your appointments now!

Mimi has a nice home she is nice and friendly and only took 4hrs for braids will be back and recommended. Braids were comfortable and not too tight to put up even the next day.

MIMI is the friendliest hair braider that I have EVER MET! I have been looking for someone like her for years! I have braided my own hair since I was a teenager, and hair braiders were few and far away. I arrived at MiMis place and she had my hair braided within 4 HOURS!! And there wasn’t a long line of people waiting to get their hair done. The PRIVATE session was what I enjoyed the most because I like being the only person at my appointment.
