I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ming's Hair Salon and was thoroughly impressed by their outstanding customer service. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. Lily really took the time to listen to my needs and offered fantastic advice. The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable, leaving me feeling happy and well cared for. Not much communication if you're an English speaker. Skillful hairdresser but the lack of communication and unwillingness to adjust the haircut made my experience bad. I'm writing this as a hairdresser myself. I left unhappy with the haircut with him saying it's fine.

Good haircut skills with decent price! It took way less than the barber shop around Japan town, the shop owner speak mandarin and Cantonese and English also! Sometimes his cool mother is in the shop too! Good vibes!

great vibes (they play hip hop) and very high quality hair cut. Ming’s attention to detail is immaculate, and his demeanor is gentle, calm, and professional. will definitely be coming back.

Ming has no taste of hair style, and the environment is not very good. He messed up customer’s hair and acted like a teacher yelled at a student who did something wrong!!!!

Wonderful hair stylist. Ming, the owner, is really passionate about his work. He will never comprise the quality of his work over quantity. It's a bargain place comparing with how much other hair studios charge. Better to call ahead to make an appointment to avoid the wait. It can get very busy.

I always have a very nice haircut done by this Salon cut by the owner. The shampoo girl and my stylist are one of the friendliest nicest people I have came across with. He is a very hard working, experienced and talented stylist. And no, he is not rude at all. :) The salon gets little busy sometimes, but worth the wait. Best to call for appointment. Very reasonable charge for a good haircut.

This is my first time in life to write a review. I wish I could rate “what the f*” level if they had it. Let me summarize the few things I experienced so you don’t need to waste your time there. 1. The man (the owner of this saloon, Ming) who cut my hair was very rude to me. He was complaining about me with an old lady whom he was cutting hair for while I was sitting next to them using Cantonese, thought I don’t understand. Serioulsy, he was laughing at me and saying how mean I am and something like some customers are really difficult to deal with. Come on, man, I cut my hair for 30 years and this is the first time I got so angry. I had some bad haircuts before, of course, that can happen to anyone, but at least they were all trying to get a good work done! I never complained any of them and I am not a picky customer at all. Instead, he has such an arrogant feeling that I was mean to him. If you are interested, you can count for how many times his customers claimed a bad attitude of him. 2. He has a history of being rude to his customers. When I checked out their reviews, there is another person who gave a review said this man said “f*k you” to her and made her cry. He did the complaining thing over and over again even when the customer has thick hair!! !! 3. He is not talented, bad sense with matching hair style with customer. You can be not talented, that’s alright. There are people like him who don’t have good talents and still survive. He messed up my hair completely, and I have to wear a hat when I go out. You want to know how bad it is? When I took off my hat and had my ugly hair fixed again by another stylist, he was shocked and asked immediately who cut your hair so short? He was polite enough not to say who cut your hair so ugly. But any stylist with a brain would not done such a thing to his customers like Ming did. 4. He doesn’t know the hairstyle after 20 years in this business. That’s what he claimed when I asked for a professional style. He can’t be creative at all. He has some old customers and that make sense as most of them would use the same style and he can do the same job every time and keep them happy. But when the work is a little bit challenging, he can’t do it. I wonder what his IQ for hairstyle business and what his EQ as a barber. 5. He didn’t dare to give me his name when I asked for it. I laughed when he refused to do so and left his place. Such a coward with so many complaining even in front of my face. Please, give me a break, after you complain so much next to me, being rude to me, messed up my hair, you don’t even have the nerve to tell me your name?? He would at least gain some respect from me if he insisted he did nothing wrong. But his name was found out by me of course, he is the owner of this salon. The arrogant Ming. His picture is posted here. Anyway, I really wish some barber like him would go out of business immediately. There are so many good stylists in SF who are nice to customers. Someone like him should give up this kind of business because he doesn’t show any respect to another person and this business requires a lot of people skill. Clearly, he doesn’t have them. If I had the right to shut down his saloon, I would do so immediately, without any hesitation. Plus, this man should receive some anger management /therapy to save himself. Or he should get some lesson about how to be a reasonable person. I would strongly suggest. I am going to have this posted on every website that I can found so that people have a higher chance to read it and won’t be mistreated by him.
