Andrea is one of those talented stylists who is equally skilled at color and cuts. She is an active listener who works hard to deliver what the client is asking for. I have gone down the road of change with her both with color and cut and it’s been a great experience. She’s a fantastic stylist and a quality person!

Andrea is the absolute best. Sometimes I don’t know exactly what I want and she takes her time asking me questions and confirming everything - it always turns out perfect. I adore her so much that I’ll continue seeing her 2-3 times a year even though we’ve moved to Minnesota.

I have been seeing Andrea at Mint for over two years now. The amount of times I’ve told her that my hair has never looked better... She takes her time to really understand what your goal is with the haircut and her skill shows it! Im SO happy leaving every appointment. I’ve recommended friends and coworkers to her because shes just that great.

I saw Andrea for the first time recently to get a haircut. She was knowledgeable, compassionate, and talented. She listened to all of my concerns and answered all my questions wonderfully. My hair turned out amazing and I got the best blowout I've ever had! I'm excited to go back to get my hair colored!

I’ve been seeing Andrea for two years and I will never go to anyone else. She is a star! She manages my constant desire for something new by talking me off the ledge but always giving me a little something different. She’s an absolute pro! Highly recommend! Great with color - whether it's funky or not. Also a wiz with the scissors! Trying to grow my hair out and it can get quite bulky and oddly shaped. Andrea cuts in all the right places to ensure there's still length and style. Fantastic stylist!

Madison has my loyalty!! I have had 2-3 very expensive + terrible experiences with blonde services since moving to this area. Odds are, I am not good at explaining what I want… but Madison is able to not only ‘decode’ what I am asking for but execute on it.

Allison is the COLOR QUEEN!!! How have I not submitted a review yet?! Allison Varela is beyond talented. When I was new to the area from San Diego, I was so hesitant to find a new stylist who could do red/copper well. If you are a redhead, you know that not all colorists do it well (IYKYK). I decided to book with Allison one day, and I’m so glad I did! She makes magic happen every time! Whether I want to go more deep red or more orangey copper, she just gets it right every single time. Truly a hair angel, and I would highly recommend anyone booking with her, especially for color! Side note, we have the same birthday (Dec 23). Meant to be!

I reached out to Maddie to book a partial balayage weeks in advance. I sent her photos of my current hair and showed her reference photos for what I wanted, and she told me she could fit me in on Tuesday. As I arrived I expressed I live far away for the time being until I move to Ballard and that I was excited to get my hair done. To my surprise, she told me she only had me booked for a consultation (that she failed to mention to me) and continued to tell me how pointless consultations are. So why am I booked for one..? This whole appointment wasted my time and left me really disappointed. Communication skills = nonexistent.

I see Maddie at Mint Hair Studio and I love her work. I usually get a balayage and the way it blends and 'fades' out over time makes it look like my hair is always freshly done. The salon is clean and relaxing and I love the product they use. I cannot imagine seeing any other hair dresser!

I usually see Lauren here, but have seen others and always leave so happy with my hair. That being said, Lauren has been my “go to” and she is just amazing. I can just sort of hint at what I want and she nails it every time!! This last haircut I got was a big transition into bangs, and I’ve gotten at least 3 compliments a day on my hair since it was cut a week and a half ago. Also, she is so efficient and fun, so the time I'm there flies by. Just love this place and will forever be a client! I highly recommend!!

I’ve been a client of Mint for years and have trusted them with my big moments like cutting and coloring my hair for my wedding and big changes like going from blonde to red. The space is cool and inviting and the stylists are kind and talented. I recommend Mint to all my friends, many of whom are now loyal clients as well.

Since moving to Seattle from NYC, I've been struggling to find a salon comparable to the service I was getting back in the city, but I'm SO happy I found Allison at Mint. I get copper tone coloring done on my hair and she nailsss it, even based on my scattered photo references :)

I’ve visited Andrea a few times, and she’s always been very sweet! She’s upfront about the services she offers and provides excellent recommendations for my haircuts and styles. Hair By Mint is a fantastic local spot if you’re in the Ballard area.

Andrea is a gem! She knows her way around thicker and curly hair, is great at complex layers and feathering as well. Amazing haircut while still being affordable, definitely will be booking with her and this studio again!

Very kind people but messed up my bangs. I had to finish up the job back at home. Wonderful job on my eyebrows though!! 4 starts because I cannot stress the genuine conversation, customer, focused environment and overall niceness of the employees.

Alright, people get the benefit of the doubt once, not twice. Had an appointment with Madison (who I have seen before) for a Sunday earlier in November. I get a text 2 hours prior saying she’s not feeling well and can we reschedule. Sure, this stuff happens! She rescheduled for today at 9 am. I get a text at 8 talking about how the roads and the rental car are not safe with the snow. There is no snow. I have a window and a weather app showing the temperature. I know she lives close to the salon. And if she IS somewhere up in the mountains with snow, girl, you have clients who also rearrange their own schedules to pay significant money for a service. It’s not all about you. Work is in an hour. Why aren’t you there or at least halfway there already? And why are you texting and driving on the “treacherous” roads in the first place? She offered to reschedule for tomorrow (Sunday) at 9 am. Why would I believe that appointment wouldn’t get cancelled, too? Give me a break. I left a voicemail on the salon “voicemail number” as other reviewers suggest no one ever returns calls. This is pure BS. Stop wasting people’s time.

Andrea has been my go to hairdresser for cuts! For anyone who has thick hair like mine, she understands how to cut and take out weight without ending up looking like a Christmas tree or a mushroom. It takes a special technique to do so, and I’ve gone to four different hairstylists before miraculously finding Andrea at Mint. Each time prior to her, I would leave in tears because my hair was butchered and I had to go through another round of growing all the choppiness out. After I left Andrea’s chair for the first time, I finally cried in sheer happiness because my hair looked like normal again. If you have thick hair, she is your go to stylist! I promise you!

I was so scared to go to Ava at first but I showed her the photo and knew exactly what to do. She was a friend who gossiped with me and related to me but most importantly did my hair perfectly!!! I've been coming to mint for years, but more regularly the past 2 years. I always see Allison V. now, and she does an amazing job everytime. I'm never too picky with my hair so I usually give broad directions like more layers, I want my hair to be long but feel a little lighter, and so on and Allison ALWAYS crushes it! I love the way my cut looks everytime I leave. I also love the variety of products they have for sale (and you can get a punch card for products to get a lil discount after buying x amount). The studio always feels very welcoming and bright, and the staff is always kind when you need to check in. It's nice seeing that they care about the health of their staff and clients by wearing masks. the staff is also always willing to answer my questions about what the best product would be for my hair so I always feel confident leaving with something that I know I will use. Some other reviewers have complained about the how stylists can be scheduled out but when you do such a great job they obviously book quickly and Allison ALWAYS lets me book my next appointment when I check out, so I'd wait for a good stylist that you like and then don't wait to book your next appointment. And honestly this seems to be the way it is at any salon you go to so set your expectations accordingly! I highly recommend getting your name on a wait list (shout out to Allison V) and get your hair styled here!

I’ve been to this salon a handful of times. I’ve seen Lauren, the owner, and today I saw Andrea on a whim bc my stylist at another place cancelled last minute. Lauren is really talented, she knows how to give your hair a great overall shape and achieve that “expensive look”. Today, Andrea made me feel really at ease, as I’m pretty particular about my hair and can be indecisive too. What I loved most about her service was how she checked in with me about what I wanted throughout the appointment, and not just in the beginning. She also gave great advice and enlightened me about hair care and haircut styles. She’s also a very warm and genuine person! I was nervous about seeing someone new, but I love my haircut!Whoever you see here, you’ll leave happy :)

Love this place! I was a new customer and will be going back. Madison was great, very friendly and talented and I love the results! I was also pleasantly surprised that they still had a mask policy — I very much appreciate the commitment to safety and it made me feel much more comfortable. Keep it up!!

Mint Studio is excellent, highly recommend. I was new to Seattle and looking for a hair salon and had a couple disasters before finding Andrea. She’s given me my favourite haircuts! I really appreciate the way she asks questions and makes sure she understands your vision. She’s also a lovely person. Studio felt very clean and appreciated the covid protocols to make guests feel safe.

One of the worst places I've ever been. They should let you know beforehand that your haircut will include a SAUNA! The ventilation in this place SUCKS. Went I got there and I said that it was so hot inside, the hair stylist said... welcome to my world!!! I had to ask for a fan otherwise I would not have been writing this review. According to my apple watch my BO went down till 93% (which is still considered normal) while I was there barely breathing because they will not let you take off your mask. I was sweating like I was working out. I will never be back at this place.
