Charlene is amazing, she always does an amazing job on my hair. I have black Indian hair, I got auburn & brown balayage couple times, she's the best I've ever had. it looked so natural and when my hair grew it looked so soft & no streaks at all, this way I don't have get touch ups often. Best part is she dyed my hair without bleach, I've gotten my hair done many times before & they always used bleach, due to no bleach my hair felt so soft. I'm always going back to her. Highly recommend her and she's so fun to talk to.

This was my first time getting extensions, and Charlene did such an amazing job! Everyone tells me how real it looks, and as someone who was worried that people would know I had them in, that comment always makes me feel amazing! Truly incredible quality hair. I was really upset about how short and broken my hair was, and not only did the extensions give me my confidence back, but I can see my natural hair is growing back since I don’t have to worry about flat ironing the already short pieces. Would definitely recommend, especially since Charlene was so caring with getting the extensions in and showing me how to take care of them. Couldn’t have asked for better results!

Being at mint salon was such an overall great experience. The atmosphere of this whole place is chill and relaxing. I used to go to mint when I was younger to my mom’s appointments and I remember that it was always an inviting environment. Recently for the first time I got my hair dyed here, by the fabulous and incredibly talented Charlene! My friends came with me and Charlene made it such a comfortable and enjoyable time for all us. I expected nothing short of amazing coming into mint, and I was exactly right! I asked for auburn with highlights and she gave me exactly what I wanted and then some! Even though this was my first hair dye experience, I know for a fact that Charlene is one of the best hair colorists in NYC! Charlene’s Mint Salon is like truly like a special treasure, and out of all of the other salons in the city, this is the one I’ll continue to go back to :)

Charlene is magic for an Indian girls hair!! I have been going to her for a decade and Ive never walked away unhappy. She just gets skin tones and complimentary highlights! I have referred so many folks her way and they’ve all loved her authentic and professional guidance. The best part about her work is it looks sunkissed/natural. I also have EVERY single colorist at other salons or blow bars ask me who does my highlights cause they are just that freakin’ amazing!! Charlene is also the epitome of an uber cool BK girl so I mean, that in itself is a personal perk - hanging with a cool friend!

I recently received a full head balayage refresh after not being very bright blonde the last couple years. Charlene did my blonde and she did an amazing job. I was recommended to try out Mint Salon and I am so glad I did - I trusted Charlene completely, the blonde is super seamless and you can tell when she works she is very detailed and experienced! The wash was also amazing ! I have also gotten my hair cut by Megan over the years. She is the best! The salon is clean, no frills but has everything. Cannot recommend enough.

Not good for bayalage - just turns out like highlights. Instead of painting the strands the gradient color they just try to use two toners which doesn’t get the job done you just end up with a whole head of highlights which is a different look. Not thrilled with the color either but when you’ve been in the salon for 5 hours you just need to move on.

This is my second time having my hair done by Charlene, and I’ll do it again. I had a relaxer, she did an amazing job. My hair came out nice and bouncy. I highly recommend her. She is an expert at what she does, which makes feel very comfortable trusting her.

Charlene is absolutely the best. I really wanted to have full long hair for my wedding and wanted to have the best possible extensions in the market - NBR. At the same time, I was a little concerned to do extensions as I was worried it may damage my natural hair. Charlene handled all my concerns like a pro - answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable with the decision. I can’t express how much I love my hair now! It makes me feel like the best version of myself and I really don’t think I’ll ever take the extensions off. It’s THAT good. Charlene also did custom color and highlights for me that blended my hair with extensions perfect. Well.. I feel like a Victoria secret model.. so thank you thank you Charlene!

Charlene is by far one of the best colorist in the city! She is very talented and an expert in her craft. I have been going to her for years and I trust her completely. She is thorough and always gives a consultation before starting the process. I would highly recommend her and always get stopped on the street to be asked who does my color. I am SO happy that I found Charlene and her salon! I have been coming to her for a year now and my hair has never looked better. She always understands exactly what I want (whether it is highlights, glaze, etc.) and is really easy to talk to. I went to mint salon for a blowout and it was the best one I’ve ever had! I asked for what we could do to make it last through the night as I had another event the next morning, and the curls ended up holding for 4 days with very little frizz. Very impressed by Charlene!

Where do I even begin! Charlene is heaven sent and life changing. I'm completely obsessed with her work. This was my first time getting extensions and I was pretty nervous. Charlene is as good as it gets! I went in not sure exactly what I wanted, but knew I wanted a change up and something low maintenance as I don’t have a ton of time to make it back for touch ups. She gave me the perfect color combo and her colleague gave me a cut I love - 6mos later I can tell you, it has grown out so well! I still get compliments on the color even now. Looking forward to going back after I have my third baby 😍 gonna need a glam up after that 🤣. Some of my favorite things about Mint; how clean it is, the professionalism, the personal attention to detail and just overall experience from the minute you walk in to when you’re done. OMG !!! hair dreams beyond belief. I received NBR extensions with Charlene and this hair will change your life. My mother is a hair stylist and I have never allowed anyone to color my hair besides her. I was very apprehensive but Charlene did above and beyond an incredible job. My blonde (naturally dark hair) is blended literally perfect to my 18 inch extensions. Besides the hair being flawless Charlene is a professional, caring and kind soul. She puts her all into your hair needs. I cannot thank her enough.
