I tried several times and was very clear about what I needed. However, every time when I came home, I need to trim myself. I understand that they work on hours, but I spent hundreds of dollars with less than three quarters of the scheduled time which might suggest something. Being well trained does not mean you can ignore customers' request. They could not even cut my hair to meet basic symmetric needs. I was deeply disappointed even when I emphasized a lot that I need a good haircut for my important job interview. This is really unacceptable.

I have been getting my hair cut and colored for years by Akasha and she is fantastic! She always gets my blonde coloring perfect and her cuts have been amazing for my thick wavy hair. She is professional and has tremendous skill. Highly recommend!

I have always had a great experience at Mirror & Mantel. I've been going there for a couple of years and Georgy does an amazing job! She is lovely, attentive, and so so so talented. We have done many different styles with hair coloring and cuts, and Georgy always has my hair looking incredible! I highly recommend her!

I recently visited Mirror & Mantel Salon and had an exceptional experience with hairstylist Katie. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that Katie is not only incredibly talented but also remarkably thoughtful. She truly listened to my vision and executed it perfectly, something I haven’t always experienced at other salons. My color and cut were absolutely stunning, reflecting Katie’s impressive skill and attention to detail. I’ve been to several salons in the past, but Katie’s ability to understand and bring my vision to life is unmatched. Her dedication to her craft is evident, and I genuinely believe she is the best in the business. The services at Mirror & Mantel Salon are top-notch, and the salon itself offers a warm, welcoming environment. I have no hesitation in driving all the way from Jersey for this level of quality and care. From now on, Katie will be the only stylist I trust with my hair. Highly recommended!

Love this salon and thank my lucky stars to be a client of Akasha’s (@ajameshair) — she is a magic maker! Every cut and highlight appointment has me walking out of the salon feeling like a million bucks and, even better, has mind-blowing staying power. Big hair change this most recent visit — I got bangs for the first time in decades. No one whose judgement and expertise I’d trust more in getting then than Akasha. Great salon, great atmosphere, and a beautiful small local business to support!

I’ve been going to see Akasha for years now and she’s the absolute best!!! She always does an amazing job and really listens to me and takes her time to make sure I’m happy no matter what. Even after moving further away I’m still driving back to see her. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Mirror and Mantle is hands down the best salon in the city. From the chic decor, to the comfortable chairs, and amazing staff, it can’t be beat. I’ve been going to Molly for years and she’s the best!! She always knows exactly what cut will look good on me, her color skills are top notch, and I trust her every time I want to do something different with my hair. Cannot recommend her more!!!

This place is the best! I get my hair cut from Akasha and Gabrielle, and they are the nicest ladies. I think what sets Mirror & Mantel apart from other salons in the area is that they not only have expert hair stylists, but they also don't skimp on their products. Through Akasha & Gabrielle, I learned about products like Kevin Murphy, Olaplex bonding oil, and Davines hair butter, products that make my hair sooo much nicer compared to the other products I've been using in years past. It's literally a gamechanger for my haircare. All in all, I get a terrific cut every time I go and learn a lot about haircare too.

I love this salon. Besides the fact that the stylists are incredible and I always leave with a fab cut, Mirror & Mantel is a brand that stands by its values throughout and that's what really sets this salon apart. The owner and staff truly care about the experience of each client and it shows. 10/10 services and 10/10 customer service!

Let me start by saying, I do not write this review lightly but I have had some time since my experience and wanted to share it, as others may find it helpful. I was getting my cut hair from long to short in August, about 6 inches off. The stylist at mirror and mantel was very nice but I was extremely disappointed with the cut. I asked for an angled bob and showed pictures. She stated she understood what I wanted. However, she gave me a very choppy, uneven bob, unlike the pictures I showed her and what I described. I did not say anything at the end of the haircut because what was done, was done. I also thought, well hair grows so maybe it will get better. It is now approaching December and I just had to cut my hair extremely short to try to even out the layers from the previous haircut. When I went to my new hairstylist today, she remarked on how uneven my previous haircut was. I am writing this review because I want anyone who goes to this salon to have a very detailed discussion with their stylist before moving forward with anything. Update-I am editing this review and changing my rating from two stars to four stars, based on the response I received from the salon after posting my review. The salon owner called me shortly after I posted my review and apologized for my experience. They also refunded me for the haircut and offered another haircut if I was interested. I really appreciated them taking the time to address my concerns. I think it’s pretty rare a business cares this much about customer experience. With this response, I can tell that my experience was an outlier for them, not the norm. I will definitely be giving them another try.

This review is for Georgy who is a super talented hair goddess! She found the perfect blonde base and highlight colors for me and now my hair looks gorgeous! Love, love love! She also gave me a great blowout too. I've received so many compliments from people and I happy to tell them to go see Georgy. I'm grateful to have found her and become a permanent client. I highly reccommend her. You will appreciate her in depth knowledge, experience and professionalism. She is amazing!

Today was my first visit to Mirror & Mantle. I followed Gabby (Falco), formerly from Richard Nicholas, and was so happy with the experience. Gabby is the best, always listening to my ideas & exceeds my expectations each time. The new salon space is great, also! Warm, friendly vibe & super cute. 5 stars all around! Highly recommend.

I found mirror & mantel via IG after moving to Philly. I had the same hairstylist in San Diego for 8 years so I was very nervous having to leave her. I came into the salon with the formula for my color and asked if anyone could do this. The receptionist reassured me that their stylists were the best! She gave me an appointment with Nicole and I've been seeing her religiously every 8 weeks (minus Covid shut down) for the past 2 years. She matched my color perfectly and also does the best cuts. Unfortunately due to the stress of COVID I started loosing my hair. She was so kind and got me hair extensions and fibers to help fill in the holes. Nicole is truly wonderful and I send anyone I can to her. Also one more shout out to M&M for offering color delivery during COVID with everything a person would need to apply the color as well as how to directions. This salon is the best!

I went here after severely damaging my hair with two years of at home bleaching and botched dye jobs. I had no idea what terminology to use or what services would help, but I just told Akasha that I wanted to “fix” it and get it as close to my natural hair color as possible so that it could grow out smoothly. She was so helpful and her attention to detail was amazing! She talked me through the entire process and even took time to redo a section a second time because she thought it wasn’t up to her standard. My hair looked and felt healthy afterwards. 10/10 experience!

I went in to get a haircut and partial highlights. The haircut was good and I really liked it but I wasn’t happy whatsoever with the highlights. They turned out red and when I went back to fix it, they just toned it and my hair is now pretty much back to its original color (almost black). And told me I had to pay for a new service if I wanted to get highlights redone to the color I wanted. I paid so much for my hair to look essentially the same as before the highlights. So disappointed and dissatisfied I flushed my money down the toilet.

Moved from NY 6 years back but was very hesitant to switch my hair stylist. Finally about 2 years ago I couldn’t do going back to NY every 3 months to get my hair done so I began the search. Stumbled across Mirror & Mantel and I am so happy I did. Nicole Smith is the best (the whole staff to be honest)! She does the best highlights and haircut. I can tell she really cares about her work and me as a client. She made the transition super easy, didn’t see a drop off in quality of my cut or highlights. Would highly recommend anyone there.

My husband and I have been going to both Katie and Kelly for haircuts / color since they opened (and even before that when they were at different salons). We moved out of the city 10 years ago and don’t mind going out of our way to see them. It’s definitely worth it!

Nicole is the absolute best. I used to have suuuuper long hair. Two years or so ago, I cut it all off. I searched best short haircut in Philly - and Mirror & Mantel came up. I blind called them, I've never gotten a haircut not at Hair Cuttery before I went to Mirror & Mantel. But let me tell you, this haircut was worth every penny. And all in all, is very reasonable. I barely have to use any product to make my hair stay the way I want it to! It's cut so well. And grows out so well. I just so happened to get scheduled with Nicole. The haircut she gave me changed my life and marked an important transition period in my life. I have been going back ever since. Nicole is so precise and really helps you achieve the vision you have for your hair. She helped to give me a very natural balayage that has worn well. These photos are from my first and second time ever getting highlights of any kind. Now, we are friends outside of haircutting, and it's the best! All the staff at Mirror & Mantel are incredible women. So kind and talented! You will not regret a haircut here!
