I loved my experience at Mirror Mirror and was excited to return. My friend and I even planned to make it a tradition to get our haircuts together. We booked appointments for Saturday at 5 PM, scheduling several days in advance due to our travel plans. Unfortunately, my flight was canceled on Friday night due to severe weather, making it impossible for me to attend. My friend canceled my appointment on my behalf, but I was informed that I would still need to pay the full fee since the cancellation was outside the required 24-hour window. While I understand and respect the need for policies to protect a business’s time and the stylists' income, this felt disappointing. Emergencies, like flight cancellations or sudden illness, are often out of a customer’s control. When I asked if the same policy applied to sickness, I was told it does - meaning even in unavoidable situations, clients are responsible for the FULL fee. This is not only upsetting but also potentially dangerous for other customers' safety. I hope the salon considers revisiting its cancellation policy to better accommodate genuine emergencies while still maintaining its business needs.I would understand a 25% cancellation fee, but paying in full feels excessive. With so many talented stylists in Austin, it wouldn’t be difficult to take my business elsewhere. However, as a businessperson myself, I believe they should place greater importance on brand integrity and their reputation. I understand that customers can be challenging in the service industry, but not everyone is trying to take advantage of your business. While I respect the need to protect the stylist’s time and livelihood, sometimes you need to make exceptions and eat the frog. edit: policy - "We ask for 48-hours notice to cancel your appointment, or we will charge your card for 50% of the price of the service booked. If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or No Show, you will be charged 100%."

Haven did an amazing job with my haircut. She had me in and out in 45 minutes and perfectly recreated the inspo pics I showed. Will definitely be returning!

Brett M. is the very best and I love his assistant, Camden!!! They always know exactly what I attempt to describe and make the experience so amazing. The 2 times I have not been patient, I have regretted it. I love Mirror Mirror and will not let someone else touch my hair!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Mirror Mirror - I have multiple friends who go here and all of us looove our stylists. Lily G is my GIRL and has achieved my exact goals every time. I pointed at my latte and said "I want this hair color" and she CRUSHED it. I am moving and so sad to lose her because I finally found my hair girl.

I really liked my stylist but I cannot do bad customer service. I recently got my hair highlighted and noticed within a couple of days after my service, it looked more yellow than the icy/cooler that I usually am. I also had a long international trip two days after my appointment. I figured I could wait till I come back. When calling to let them know I felt my hair color needed to be corrected, they said I needed to call within that week and I’m due to come in for a gloss anyway. I have been getting my hair blonde for over 15yrs and never needed to come in less than a month of my service (maybe 3months) because I was so happy with the color. I would have been willing to pay if I had been given something partial discount or something just to feel heard and appreciated as a customer but it was clear their management did not care. This post has nothing to do with the stylist and I don’t put any blame on her as blonde is complicated and she just made it too yellow. I’m more shocked that the management team didn’t think $10 or so was worth keeping a long time customer.

I've been seeing Natalie Cox for 4+ years and she has never let me down! I've gone dark, I've gone blonde and now somewhere in between and her coloring technique is always top-tier. Can't imagine going to anyone else!

I’m always nervous trusting my blonde with a new stylist in a new city, however so glad I did! Lucy was fantastic! She did such a great job with my hair and really understood what I was looking for. Lily is the BEST! Although she primarily works in extensions, she cuts great hair! She listens and touches base throughout the cut to make sure you like what you see, and she’s always fun to talk to! Love my haircut, and this place!

Lindsey is absolutely amazing! She has done an amazing job helping me achieve the perfect blonde while keeping my hair healthy. Tess did a wonderful job with my hair extensions! I got extensions for the first time for my wedding and they were perfect. I highly reccomend her to anyone wanting extensions or hair color! Also, the salon is super cute inside and very welcoming.

Brett is a great stylist, who’s easy to connect with, and knows exactly what to do for his clients based on the sometimes limited info I give him. Also highly attentive and caring front desk staff

Greg Pike is an outstanding colorist! He was my colorist in Chicago and I now live in LA, but when I have an opportunity to go to Austin, I make sure to schedule with him. The salon is also very nice and the rest of the staff have been wonderful the 2 times I have been there.

I booked a last minute haircut with Greg and he did amazing. I came in with multiple lengths of hair due to thinning/thyroid issues. We collaborated on a cut that would help my hair look its best but also makes me feel good. Wonderful job and I would definitely come back for a cut!

I decided to go very short this time so was introduced to Brett M. I was extremely nervous… a new stylist and going so short… leaves lots of room for regrets! But Brett was so confident that he could deliver the look I was after… and boy, did he!❤️❤️ He did an amazing job and everyday, I’m still getting compliments on what an outstanding cut I have! I paid 40 dollars for a consultation for extensions where the woman just held things up to my head and offered no advice. She said she would call me talking to the hair stylist to see if I I was a good fit. Never did.

Beautiful environment and great prices given the quality and experience of the stylists! The area is very well ventilated so there were no bothersome smells from any of the color services. It was very busy but did not feel chaotic or rushed at all!

Payton was amazing! She listened to what I wanted and checked in with me throughout the cut, to be sure I was comfortable with the length. The ladies at the front desk were lovely and hospitable. Overall, a really great experience!

If I could give zero stars I would. I moved to Austin about six months ago and tried to find a quality hair salon with professional and experienced artists, but I unfortunately discovered Mirror Mirror was anything but that. The original stylist that I was assigned, coming with ravings reviews from the salon, left my hair with horizontal stripes of different colors in back. After bringing this to the manager’s attention, she apologized and convinced me that she could make it “right”. After a couple of visits, she did in fact fix the color; however, at the next visit she left me with a haircut resembling a mullet, when I had asked her to only cut off dry ends. We ended up cutting off about 5 inches more of my hair around back in attempt to blend this haircut, but to no avail. The owner of the salon and the manager discussed this problem and they brought to me the solution of adding extensions to the sides of my hair to blend it together. They offered me a 20% discount for their mistake. When I explained to the owner that I would not be having to still spend hundreds of dollars by adding extensions if it weren’t for the fact that their “expert” hairdresser/manager screwed up royally on my haircut, he told me I should take my business elsewhere. This I did and I’m very happy where I landed; however I feel it important to warn others to be very careful if you are thinking about trusting Mirror Mirror with your hair. With their cuts, colors, and customer service, Mirror Mirror definitely strikes out!
