Came here & spend 90 dollars for my hair to look better when i do it myself. I have 3a-3b fine hair and they used very heavy weighted products for thick hair which weighed down my hair a lot when I asked for volume specifically. It was a waste of money and waste of time althought the workers were really nice and offered a rewash for free but we had already been there for 4 hours. I might come here again in the future, but my first experience was not good :(

I went to Miss Rizos NYC Salon for my ‘big chop’ in January 2020, and it was a great experience! The stylist showed me how to care for my hair, and recommended products. This was an early phase in my curly hair journey and I am so appreciative for the service and learnings I received! And, I was lucky to catch Carolina 🫶🏽 before her travel to the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 ♥️

Miss Rizos is a clean, welcoming environment where stylists care as much about their clients as their hair. Loribelle was my stylist. She gave me tips for haircare between visits. They play soothing music and offer clients drinks and refreshments. Hair salons are great social environments and Miss Rizos upholds that tradition. Miss Rizos will always hold a special place in my heart as it was where my son got his first curlycut at 3 years old. He is now almost 4 and we loved his 2nd cut too. It’s important to me that he learns to love and embrace his curls; having a sanctuary like this makes that much easier. The staff were knowledgeable, kind and patient, and the products are amazing! First product that my son and I have both used where our hair is supple and defined.

As other reviewers mentioned, it's a clean and overall relaxing vibes space with very friendly employees. Unfortunately, my cut didn't turn out as intended even though I showed the stylist pictures. It's way too short now, and my hair was overwhelmed with products that left it feeling artificial and stuck together, like plastic. Staying 20 min in the dryer with all the products in gave me a headache. I also never before saw stylists cutting my hair in a 90° angle, kind of straight hair treatment. It seems it's not a great place for thinner, wavy style curls.

I booked a tapered haircut. The stylist I was assigned to did not have the experience for what I was looking for so she quickly assigned me to Samanda. Samanda was absolutely awesome. She was honest, gave me what I was looking for and gave me tips for my hair. It was pricey but I’ve paid more for similar services. I will definitely go back to Samanda!

They mostly just put design essentials mousse in your hair and nothing too special. Also charging 80$ extra ,on top of a wash and go (also 80$) , for a hair trim (not a curly cut) is too much. Nice people but just ridiculous charging.

I think the services are overpriced and that there should be a difference price range according to hair length or at least not charge almost $100 for a wash and go for a 5 year old.

Absolutely love this salon! When you explain what you’re looking for they will deliver and give you more knowledge on care for your hair as well. A shoutout to Samanda for the best haircut and Llenely for your help!

I enjoyed my experience at this salon. The staff is professional and kind. The stylist was very accommodating and informative. She gave me tips and the list of products she used so I can style my own hair. Samanda did a great job listening to what I wanted and styling my hair accordingly. I highly recommend and look forward to my next visit!

Only giving the second star because everyone seemed friendly. Went there about a month ago. The cut and the styling were both terrible. The stylist put so much product in my 2c hair that it basically glued together - they definitely do not understand different hair types and what products each type of hair needs. I had to come home and wash it off. When I came home, a few pieces seemed significantly longer than others, and I had to even them out myself because they just stuck out an inch compared to the rest of the hair. Two weeks ago, I went to get highlights to a different place, and the stylist showed me the difference in the hair strands length WITHIN ONE LAYER that was up to 2 inches. Every layer was messed up and hair pieces were just all of random lengths. Even the front pieces that frame my face were of different lengths. I ended up having to have another cut to at least make each layer be on the same length and paying more. Would not go back to the place and would not recommend.

Got a perm rod set with Taia at Miss Rizos. I had a great experience. The stylist was thorough and attentive, nice staff, great music (😀) and it came out better than expected. I definitely will be back.

I had the best experience of my life here. I came in with lifeless hair and not a clue how to treat or style it. I was treated so wonderfully, Liz was so informative, she shared the steps of the transition, products she used, and got different suggestions from other stylists on what would be the best option for me to revive my curls. I came in with photo references and everything was taken into account for my curly cut. Thank you Liz and Loribel, I loved coming here and will return.

This was first time at the salon. The place itself is wonderful, clean and feels homey but as it was my first time being in the salon I would have wanted to have the hair dresser to communicate with me the process of my hair. I felt in the dark about the whole process and made me feel very nervous of how my hair would turn out. I understand there might have been a language barrier, but I did specify what language I’m comfortable with in the survey prior to booking my appointment.

Today was my first time visiting Miss Rizos after following its founder for a long time and Taja did not disappoint when she styled my new box braids. Well worth the nearly $300 I spent. Definitely coming back in the future for a curly cut and style.

Yo so okay im just a chinito who recently got my hair permed BUT THIS PLACE IS SO GREAT they were able to get me to look like Raulin Rodriguez with them curls and cut my hair to a way that I liked and I came out looking like him it was great. They asked very specifically what I liked and just some bonus touches were the hair wash before and then talking me throughout the process. A bit pricey in my opinion, but also hella worth the price soooo you decide 👀👀
