Great salon - I haven't felt this good in a long time - I'm a devotee! Update after 4 visits now - If I could give 6 stars I would. This salon is probably the best salon I've ever been lucky enough to be a client of. Consistently great service - warm, welcoming, always on time. Manage to maintain a real community feel in a high end environment. And the owner Jasmine - Master Stylist! I haven't felt this good in I can't remember when. Explains why every woman who was there yesterday left looking amazing. THANK YOU Mix'd - you keep Philadelphia looking NICE!

This salon knocks my socks off!! The salon has a very New York vibe. My cuts and hair coloring are always wonderful. Michele gives a wonderful facial and the staff is helpful and courteous. I highly recommend them!!

I used to go to a salon in Old City that did a good job, but it was always inconvenient to find or pay for parking, and the traffic going into the city could be a hassle. I started looking for something closer and had often passed by Mixd Salon in my area. After seeing their great reviews, I decided to give them a try. They connected me with Sissi, who did an amazing job! I wasn’t sure exactly what cut I wanted, but I told her I needed something that worked with both my natural texture (3b curls) and when I flat iron it, and she absolutely nailed it. She also gave me some really helpful styling tips, which I appreciated. On top of that, everyone at the salon was so friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. I’ll definitely be going back and highly recommend them!

After visiting this salon a few times, these 5 stars are for Jasmine only. I haven't had a visit with the male stylist, but I will be sure to book him if Jasmin isn't available.

I have been going to MIXD Salon since it opened three-plus years ago. I used to travel 30 mins to get my hair colored and styled and I’m thrilled they are close to my home. Brian is a fantastic stylist. He has a great instinct for color and style and I highly recommend him as well as the salon in general; so much so that I have purchased gift certificates for family and friends and they have become longstanding clients. Jasmine the owner of the salon is professional and friendly, and has created a beautiful and welcoming space and I love the clean Aveda products they sell. As a bonus, they have an awesome playlist going all the time! To All at MIXD Salon, thanks for being a part of the Chestnut Hill Community. ❤️

Came in yesterday to have my hair recolored, when I walked in an employee gave me an almost dirty look with a side eye as of I didn't notice, when she sat me down I told her what I wanted done and she started picking through my hair and snickering telling me she'll "do her best with what she has to work with" my hair isn't short and I take care of it daily so it’s not thin or damaged. about 10 minutes into the appointment another employee came from a back room and looked at me in the mirror then looked at the other employee and they giving each other this look as the employee that just emerged starts quietly giggling. I see the same employee in the mirror sit down and get on her phone, 2 minutes go by and I hear the phone of the employee working on me buzz. I look over and make eye contact with the girl sitting down, as I do she immediately looks back at her phone. the employee working on my hair then stops to respond and laugh, she then did something that looked almost like she took a nonchalant photo of the back/top of my head. I see the employee sitting down cover her mouth with her hand as she gets up and walks back into the other room, the employee doing my hair then does a chuckle type breath through her nose so I looked up at her through the mirror and she went straight faced almost instantly. roughly around the end of the session the dealing with my hair starts making these facial expressions towards the finished result (mind you im older so my hair has quite a bit of grey in it so I get it colored for self conscious reasons). I felt really uncomfortable the entire time and the atmosphere was so awkward that I just paid for the haircut and didn't leave a tip. as was walking out the employee made a comment under her breathe (I'm not sure if it was related to the refusal of a tip) but she very faintly said "yup of course" as she scoffed, I didn't bother to acknowledge her as I'm willing to do whatever I want with my money and I wasn't about to get into with some strip mall hairstylist over a couple bucks, overall the color was really nice and from what I can see all angles look vibrant and even, just be weary going in alone. To make an update, it’s kinda sad that random pedestrians get Presse for false racist claims,, it’s hilarious, you guys shouldn’t need to protect yourself you need to hold yourselves accountable for your shitty actions, ive seen the full video, ive gone on TikTok to duet said video and actually talked to the original owner of the video to send me the unedited version and yet no racist comments were ever made, so for you to have your little Bmade husband or whatever to go and confront someone who is within their legal right it’s pretty funny, keep your ignorance to yourself, you lost me “we shouldn’t have to defend ourselves” like yea and people shouldn’t be falsely accused of racist BS and yea so what in fact that guy from the video is lucky I live on the other side of the country. Would’ve been paid some homies to pay him a visit, if I ever make it into town ill come by and I’ll make sure to pull my phone out and record, and also be ready to curb stomp a mf

Copy and paste replies, avoiding the problem that was caused, and not taking accountability. Doesn’t matter if you think it’s fake. The review is real because now you’re committing bad business practice. What should have been done is an actual apology not no “oh sorry” and take action on the employees. I have been a client at MIXD for over 2 years. Brian, my stylist, has always given me amazing haircuts. His suggestions keep my hair looking great. I appreciate that he listens to my preferences but is able to make suggestions to make a more polished cut. The cuts and stylings I receive are some of the best I have ever received. The gray shine treatment makes my natural gray “highlights” pop. The salon and staff provide a relaxing experience.

I absolutely love this salon! The experience was outstanding! All of the stylists and staff are welcoming. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and offered complimentary drinks ( coffee, Aveda tea, and boxed water. My shampoo was relaxing. I was informed of each product that was used and its benefits. I am a woman of color with natural hair (thick/coarse) and Aveda smooth infusion and nutriplenish paired well with my silk press for great lasting results. I will definitely be returning! I asked for a balayage and got regular highlights instead. Although my highlights were well done, the style and final color were not what we talked about. My shirt was also completely ruined due to bleach getting all over the back.

Let me start off by saying! I don't play about my hair it is a representation of who I am. When I tell you Jasmine is nothing short of amazing, she helped me to figure out my style and what I wanted, and baby let me tell you, the hair is fierce. The salons esthetic is such a vibe with beautiful details oh and let's not forget the professionalism. When I sat in Jasmine’s chair it felt like back in the day when your mom would take you to the hairdresser, she is not only a genius on the hair, but very relatable. I just loved my experience, see you next time.

The 1st time I went Brian gave me a beautiful cut and color. When I went back to get roots done and a trim he,without asking me, chopped into my hair while saying numerous times how much hair I had. My hair is now cut in various lengths and I have lost my some how lost my curls. It is a horrible cut. It is like he shredder my ends in various areas of my hair. Two other women I know who went to Brian ( in fact it was due to one woman’s beautiful color that I went to him. Both women had different colors than the first time and the one woman, Brian stripped her hain again without saying or asking. This was a repair coloring and they charged her full price to fix what he messed up and ruined it even more. Brian is inconsistent and seems to think he can do what he wants to your hair. I would warn anyone going to this salon and using Brian to expect complete inconsistency.

The salon is nice and the owner is very sweet. I’ve read so many good things about her. That being said, I feel like the goal is to add services and treatments to your appointment for extra expenses. I paid more for some shine treatment that i don’t think did much for my hair. I also don’t feel like much of my hair was even cut. I wanted my hair to be shorter, and my stylist kept telling me she didn’t want to cut off too much because it will be shorter when it curls up. After 36 years of having curly hair, I obviously know how my hair works. I left the salon with my hair looking exactly the same as when I entered, and spent about $140. With so many salons in chestnut hill, I have yet to find a good one for a curly haircut!

I can sometimes feel very awkward and put off when entering a salon, however, from the moment I walk in to MIXD, the staff makes me feel incredibly welcome. Everyone is very friendly and so helpful. Brian, my stylist, is nothing short of a hair wizard. His knowledge and skill shine through as he continues to make perfect choices when styling my hair. What truly sets him apart is his exceptional listening skills; he takes the time to understand my preferences and is incredibly respectful of my wishes. I always leave happy. .
