I’ve been going to MK Nails for years. Easy to call and get an appointment. Always running on time! And the nails are the best! Jasmine did my holiday nails and I love how they turned out. So much attention to detail. While I was getting my nails done, my 6yo daughter got red polish with Christmas stickers and she felt like a pampered princess! Highly recommend!

Severely disappointed in my experience at MK nails. Made an appointment online about a week in advance, and when I came day of, they still asked me what I was getting, who it was with, etc. and that was all in the booking. Please note that I called the day before to confirm my appointment and they told me my time. I didn’t get who I wanted, and their big selling point is a complimentary beer, wine, mimosas and I was given a water. Paid extra for my pedicure and almost no effort was given. Took less than 10 seconds to scrub my feet (callouses, etc). They trimmed down my toenails and now they look like box toes. When it came to my hands, they told me they couldn’t do the shape that I wanted. She then started talking about me in front of me in Vietnamese to her other co-workers nasty things as if I couldn’t understand. Nails turned out crooked and they are literal CLOWN NAILS. When they did my brows, they got wax in my hair. Then when checking out told me it would be an extra $20 for my nails because they were considered long and the shape was extra which was never specified.

Stopped by on 11/30 after calling ahead of time to be quoted for a soak-off of my acrylic set & a gel manicure & was quoted $40 on the phone. I did not ask for my technician’s name as I was just trying to leave before I got upset, but my nails are extremely painful even a week after my appointment. The acrylic set was clipped down while also clipping off a majority of my natural nail underneath and then a fake nail tip was used to pop off the rest of my nails which is NOT a soak off, it was labeled a “take off” at checkout. The pressure of the nails being forcibly taken off has made my natural nails extremely sensitive. My technician cut my cuticles & made me bleed more than once (pictured below), and then proceeded to shove the tools presumably with my blood back in a drawer to use on the next client. The paint job was fine, not great. The prep was done hastily so there is a few bubbles that have popped up since getting them done. When it’s all done i go up to the front to be charged $50 because “i didn’t specify that it was a soak off for acrylics” (so basically $15 for them to aggressively pop my nails off which i could have done in the parking lot with my teeth and it would have felt 100x better than how i was manhandled). I’m extremely disappointed in the standards of this facility & caution everyone as they are more than likely using cross contaminated tools on other clients.

This is by far my favorite nail salon! David is my favorite... he does a really good job and with a pedi, omg, it is amazing after a hard days work. Love coming here!! My daughter gets her nails here too and the only place that treats her like adult. If you are looking for a place that does great work and very friendly, please come here.

Annie does such a thorough and beautiful job on my gel nails and her pedicures are the best! It’s not often that I wrote a review and I’ve been getting my nails done for many years. Really wanted to do a shout out for Annie at MK Nails. It’s also a lovely salon with terrific owners.

I have been coming here for many years now. The place always looks fresh and clean and you are always greeted when you enter. Tonya has been my stylist for as long as I've been coming and she is the best! I can always count on her to do a great job and make me smile while she's at it. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a clean, professional nail salon.

This is the BEST nail salon between 2 states! Literally! I drive 40 minutes up from NC to get my nails done. Tonya has done my nails for years! And I have never been disappointed.

I moved to area 2 years ago and tried like 4 salons before mk nails. Once I found them I never left. They are awesome! Always friendly and welcoming. Julie does an amazing job, fast clean and efficient nails. She did my eyelashes once- amazing. Kayla has done my nails and eyebrows and she is a true artist. They.just recently renovated and the place looks amazing. I can't say enough good things about them. Thank you mk nails for being in chesapeake! You are the best ! Update I just had Kayla do my permanent make up on my eyebrows after contemplating for the past 2 years and boy do I wish I did sooner. Amazing. She is an artist but also listened to my input. They look amazing. And the price is amazing. She is super professional and of course super sweet. The whole procedure was clean and sterile,which being in the medical field is important to me. You must get it done!! Don't wait! And if u do go to Kayla at mk nails.

Quality: I received dipped nails for my manicure for the first time, the shaping of the nails was poor and the next day one of my nails chipped and fell off. The quality of the work was subpar. I will not be returning. Unprofessional: The technician asked me before she was even started on my nails to pay her cash for her tip. I told her I didn't carry cash; she then asked me if I had a cash app. There's a technician who goes around asking to do permanent tattoos on clients who are not even receiving services from her. This comes off as aggressive, insulting, and annoying. She did it the two times I gave them a chance.

Second time coming here and I’ve found my go-to nail salon! Jasmine did my fill tonight and she was absolutely amazing! I picked an orange shade for fall but once I saw her nail art, I couldn’t resist getting some little spiders for spooky season. Her attention to detail is very impressive and I am so happy with how my nails turned out! She’s new at the spa so her husband Jimmy sat nearby to translate - an adorable couple 🥰 only first I think Tara did my gel pedicure and Kayla (owner) did my full set - my nails went 3 weeks with no lifting and that NEVER happens! I have no complaints and will certainly be back! If you are in the market for a nail tech, come to MK Nails First and ask for Jasmine!! You will not be disappointed!!

Update: Had a great facial by Linda today. It was relaxing and rejuvenating. My skin looks and feels clean and hydrated. Lines are diminished, pores are clean, and any redness calmed. Loved it!!!!! ============ Decided to try this nail salons for a basic mani-pedi. The salon is clean and staff very warm and welcoming. Linda, Tara, Snow, and David do a great mani-pedi. Kayla talked to me about permanent makeup. I was hesitant but let her show me how my eyebrows would look. I was amazed and decided to get permanent eyebrows the same day. Just my eyebrows took 10-15 years off my appearance. They actually lifted my face and brightened my complexion. After 2-3 days, I made the appointment to have my eyes and lips done. Kayla is professional and funny. It was amazing how many customers in the salon for nails & pedicures had their brows, eyes & lips done as well. I got to see someone else's results, in person, before I had mine done. Very happy and now a repeat nail customer.

I wanted to love it here. Many of the reviews were so positive, and I should have listened to them and scheduled with one of the recommended technicians. Instead, I took my chances as a walk-in. The first time I visited, I scheduled ahead of time for a mani/pedi with a friend. Her pedicure was almost done before mine got started, and it was already 45 minutes past my manicure appointment when I decided to leave. They tried to get me in then, but we had already been there for so long. It was fine and I wasn't upset, but I decided I'd come back another time. I came back the next day for my manicure, and visit was good. Two weeks later, my daughter and I decided to do girls' day manis and popped in around 11. Aside from 1 or 2 pedicure clients, the place was empty. They took my daughter back first, then a couple minutes later, the guy sitting by the door (AJ) took me back. My daughter was in another row, on the other side of the salon, so I asked if we could sit together. AJ just tells me, "No." Not another word. Mind you, NONE of the other stations were occupied. I've been getting my nails done for years, and every time I've brought my daughter, they always put us together, unless it's busy and not possible. A few minutes later, another lady walks out, I think she may be the owner(?), and asks if we'd like to sit together. She was very friendly. AJ was trying to hand me off to the woman already doing my daughter's nails, telling me this other guy could finish hers. Honestly, I was glad to get anybody else at that point. Instead, the owner told the lady and my daughter to move up next to us. In all fairness, she was trying to help, and she hadn't been on the floor when I had initially asked. AJ was visibly irritated and kept talking under his breath to himself. I was ready to walk out, and looking back, I probably should have. He was aggressive with my nails, burnt my nail beds and finger tips multiple times with the dremel (no apology or acknowledgment), and did zero cuticle care. I asked him to trim my nails because after two weeks of growth, they needed to be trimmed. I did want them shorter than I originally had, so I couldn't get almond shape, which I knew, and was fine with. At checkout, I noticed a $5 upcharge. When I asked him about it, he said it was because he had to trim and reshape my nails. What??? I didn't ask for them longer. Trimming and "reshaping" is standard with any fill, even though the reshaping was literally done by trimming the tip of the almond off. Never in the 20+ years that I've been getting nails done, have I been charged at a fill appointment to trim, or been treated so poorly was asking if i could sit near my young daughter in an empty salon. If you go here, I think there are good people to see. Just read the reviews and book with one of the names most recommended and stay away from AJ. He may have just had a bad day, but that is NOT the clients fault. Especially when all I did to upset him was ask him nicely if it were possible for my daughter and I to sit next to each other. I didn't argue with him. I just said, "Oh, okay." He was rude, aggressive, and took his anger out on a client. That is NEVER acceptable. Picture of purple nails were what I came in with (longer, almond shaped), and the white nails are what I left with. You can see the trim and reshaping was not excessive, and the state of my cuticles/hang nails.

I had a great experience with Julie today for my pink and white full set of acrylics nails and gel pedicure. She was able to accomplish exactly what I asked for and they look amazing.

I can’t put into words how grateful I am for coming to with my eyebrow troubles. The whole process from start to finish, was beyond tremendously amazing. I knew I was in the best hands when throughout the whole process Kayla kept making sure everything was just perfect and that I was comfortable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping rebuild my confidence. I absolutely love my eyebrows!!

Ive been going to this salon for over 10 years and I’ll never go anywhere else. I got one of the best pedicures Ive ever had yesterday from Linda, one of their new staff members. She took her time and I really enjoyed her gentle touch. If you are needing a relaxing pedicure, ask for Linda!

The remodel looks fantastic but it does not make up for a sloppy mani/pedi with paint all over my cuticles. Or the fact that the woman doing it went out of her way to get a sterile set of tools but never opened the pack. She used the open/used tools already at her station. Not a lot of choices in OPI or Essie brand regular polish. The rest is an off brand that does not seem to last as long. Had high hopes but will go back to my regular spot.
