Y'all, this place is amazing. I've been seeing Josh for over a year now and he is INCREDIBLE. I have super thick and unruly hair and he always cuts it in a way that it can grow out and still look amazing. Everytime I leave there I get so many compliments - book him.

It's actually taken me years and therapy to write this review. I am BIPOC and I have a thick dry textured hair so I put leave in conditioner. I went to Mod Salon for a haircut and the stylist told me my hair had too much product and wouldn't be able to wash it properly. She said that only Dawn dish soap would clean it out. I'm not a dish nor a baby duck in an oil spill. I wanted to be treated like a person and the disgust this woman had of my non Caucasian hair made me so ashamed. It took many years until I was comfortable going to a salon that treated me like a person. I can't recommend a salon that would treat a BIPOC person so poorly.

Booked a newly available silent appointment with Josh and could not be happier! My hair looks great and it was so calming to remove the conversational element of the hair appointment. This time of year can be overwhelming in so many ways, so every little bit helps for this introvert. Josh was just the right amount of friendly before and after the silent part. And again, loved the actual haircut too :-). Will definitely be back!

I had a first time visit with Shalena, we had some scheduling conflicts but she really made it work for both of our schedules. She's really a wonderful human she talks to you like she's known you forever. And she gave me exactly the cut I was looking for! My bangs are banging and that's a lot to ask. Thanks Shalena!

Josh has been doing my hair for years and it's always perfect. We always have a good chat before about what I want it to look like and he's able to give me suggestions to figure out what will work best. The salon atmosphere is hip and stylish. Love this place, love my stylist! Josh is the shiz.

Within the past two years I’ve booked with both Katie and Josh, for color and or cuts, both were super easily accommodating of close to last minute bookings and each experience was up there with the happiest I’ve left a salon! They did such an amazing job listening to what I wanted, and both experiences were equally as kind, smooth, and left me feeling good about my hair. Xo mod!

First of all, I’m gonna say that my hair is my everything. I don’t spend money or time on any beauty services, but I will for my hair and I’m very picky about who cuts it. I came here for the first time about a year ago and booked with Stephanie, who I heard was skilled with long and thick hair. She gave me the most perfect haircut that also grew out beautifully and didn’t lose its defined layers very much over the course of the next year, which doesn’t typically happen when I would previously get cuts with other stylists. I had a friend offer to buy me a cut and balayage with another stylist as a gift, so I took a chance but ended up walking away with such an awkward and bland cut so I immediately came to Steph, who shaped it SO perfectly and actually brought out the existing color so much more! I’m in love with the cut, just as I was last time. She’s incredibly skilled, truly listens, and takes her time making sure she understands exactly what you want. Not to mention she is super funny and so easy to connect with. You’ll love sitting in her chair! ❤️

By far the best hair cut I’ve had in years. Dee was the best. She listened to what I was looking for and was chatty and sweet. It is expensive but definitely worth it! I feel amazing!

Shalena is wonderful! I love being able to walk in for my haircut and just say, same great cut as last time, please. :) She is a magician with bangs, and it feels like catching up with an old friend every time I go in for a haircut.

Stephanie Todd is the long hair expert and actually makes sure to shape your existing hair without taking out length. I bring her pics and she executes on them flawlessly. I’m Indian American and send my entire family to her for cut, color, blow out, the works. She is also so great at coloring really dark hair. It helps that Stephanie also has hair down to her waist. Also helps that she has thick hair. She gets it and you’ll be happy after you see her. You’ll get face framing layers and still put up your hair in a ponytail. Next time we’ll take photos since I tend to visit every couple of months for a trim. I hadn’t cut my hair in more than a year to wait to bring it to Steph. My hair is waist length and very thick. I went from Portland to super humid south and my blowout from the week is looking like the Cindy Crawford inspo I brought to Steph. She’s a local Oregonian! We’ve known her for more than a decade. She’s a swell person and watching her become a skilled stylist and then becoming her client has been great. My sis brought me here the first time. Mod Salon is a great space, too, since there’s a huge garage door they open when it’s nice out which helps with ventilation. Super helpful for those who are concerned for their health. The stylists are very courteous to each other. I love it and for the first time in a long time, a salon felt like home. ❤️👏🏾

First, I was very comfortable with the salon's COVID precautions, I was met at the entrance with hand sanitizer and a temp check. Shelby was very nice, easy to talk to and was able to give me exactly the cut I was looking for. My hair looks great and I was easily able to style it myself. Great expereince overall!

I have the same haircut long hair for 25 years. I went there to have my cut short. My hair is very curly. Not only did Katie start with dry cutting my hair but she asked me about my curls, how I take care of them and allowed me to make suggestions about how to dry and style my hair. She was willing to go “a little bit crazier” when I asked her too. Women if you have curly hair and want a great hair cut go to Katie!!!!!

Katie was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and really took the time with my hair. I have curly hair and am always nervous going to new salons. But she totally eased that anxiety and I got a great haircut with some sample products to go home with. Felt very taken care of and pampered. They will take the time to take care of you here.

Love love LOVE mod salon. The space itself is super open, nicely spread out and is so cute! All the stylists are really well put together and professional. I’ve been coming to Stephanie for a few years now, done all sorts of things with my hair and I’ve never once left disappointed. I took my hair from really dark to really light, almost grey, and Stephanie did such an amazing job with it! The first time it didn’t come out the color I wanted it but she was so sweet fixing it for me the next day. I highly recommend Mod to everyone who asks about hair!

I went to this salon with such hope. I scheduled with Sarah Ann, she was actually great at first and I like my new haircut, she styled it nicely. But as soon as I washed and dried my hair, the hair cut was uneven. I understand pixie cut not supposed to be even but it should look whole; how come only one side, left side by the ear was left untouched, it looked that she just forgot to trim it...“You can never rush with a pixie” her words not mine and still she messed it up. I guess, now I have to find someone else to fix it. And I paid $60 plus tip for something that any child can do for free, I’m so disappointed...
