Alexa B. Introduced me to this salon and at first impression I thought I was very cutesy and impressed they served coffee. But the real review all goes to Alexa. She talked me through the vision I had and really nailed the color and style I wanted. She also gave me great after care advice to keep my hair color for as long as possible. Alexa at Modern Muse is amazing! I went in for my 50th birthday celebration on Halloween. I was looking for a 70s disco glam vibe and she did it! I have never had so many compliments on a look before, and am going back for another party today. Would definitely recommend to a friend and plan to go back for all kinds of special occasions.

I recently moved to the area, after living in another part of the state and had been on the look for a new stylist. I found Veronica on social media and a few searches and I am so happy I did. She listened to me in everything I was looking for and went above and beyond the color asked. She had me show her my reference pictures through out the entire appointment which meant so much to me!! She told me everything she was doing and talked me through my cut and color. professional, fun and so easy to talk to. i could not have enjoyed my time with her more and I am so excited to continue coming back to her in the future, she's the best!

I’m writing to share my deeply disappointing experience at Modern Muse Salon on Thursday, November 7th. I’ve been getting my hair done for about 10-12 years, but I’ve never had such a terrible experience before in my life (specifically because of the attitude and mistreatment I received from the salon owner and stylist). I decided to try this new place since my go-to stylist unfortunately moved out of town, but I highly regret my decision. I originally booked a balayage service, but due to delay at work and unexpected traffic, I arrived late. I communicated my delay in advance and agreed with the stylist to proceed with a mini color service to address my grey hairs, as suggested by the stylist. I opted for the grey coverage service because I had an important event the next day, and I explicitly communicated this before my appointment. I scheduled my visit after office hours specifically to have my hair ready for the event. However, after spending a significant amount of time explaining why balayage wasn’t an option that day, I was still hopeful that the color service would address my primary concern of grey coverage. Despite spending 30-40 minutes explaining why balayage wouldn’t be suitable, which I understood and accepted, not even a fraction of that time was dedicated to explaining how grey coverage would work. I specifically requested a solution for my grey coverage, but that request was not addressed. The pictures I’ve attached were taken the very next day, showing the noticeable greys that were left uncovered. The most frustrating part of my experience was interacting with the salon owner and stylist during my follow-up appointment. Instead of addressing my concerns, they became defensive and dismissive of my feedback, making the situation more tense. Despite an email exchange where the owner agreed to apply a partial credit toward my next service to rectify the situation, when I arrived for the follow-up appointment, the owner and stylist argued that the initial service had been done correctly. There was no acceptance of the fact that my grey coverage was insufficient, and instead of offering a resolution, my service was outright refused. Sharing honest feedback shouldn’t be met with hostility, yet that’s exactly what I experienced. At that point, I had already been expecting the balayage to address my concerns, but the poor treatment and refusal of service left me incredibly frustrated. The experience seemed more focused on upselling services than on genuinely addressing customer needs. I always refrain from posting anything negative online because I believe in resolving matters amicably, which I definitely tried via email. However, it seems it was hard for them to take that feedback and work toward a solution. I am now seeking a full refund for the service I paid for, which was not delivered to a satisfactory standard. This experience has left me thoroughly disappointed, and I hope this feedback encourages the salon to prioritize customer service and professionalism moving forward.

She is super nice, gave me the best blow out of my life after I told her I didn’t need my hair styled since I was going to the gym later that day, she took her time with my haircut, listened to my needs. I honestly felt cared for, not rushed and valued as a customer. She is incredible highly recommend her!

Veronica is amazing! I went in for a trim, to refresh my layers, and to fix some heavy bangs I wasn’t happy with. She listened to what I wanted and made great recommendations to make sure my hair looked perfect. My husband also got his hair cut short but was nervous about his receding hairline. Veronica offered thoughtful suggestions and made sure he left feeling confident. She’s professional, super nice, and really knows her stuff. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist who truly cares about their clients!

Absolutely amazing hair color experience with Alexa B. I have very “sparkle” hair, meaning a lot of gray. It’s often very difficult to blend with my blonde highlights. It’s also challenging to lift. Alexa was amazing with her careful approach to selection of color, very fun and friendly during the process, and walked me through the process she was doing. The salon is absolutely gorgeous, and I felt very cared for and pampered. The owner is so amazing and it shows in all they do, from the front staff to the stylists. Thank you Alexa for the care of my hair and the amazing hair product suggestions. Any the scalp massage was the best! I love my hair and have gotten so many compliments on the color.

I had a phenomenal experience with Alexa here at Modern Muse. I am super picky about the tone of my blonde and over the past few years I’ve gone to at least 5 different stylists trying to let someone bring my vision to light. Alexa was extremely communicative and really listened to what I was wanting. My hair somehow turned out better than the picture I had originally brought in as inspo. Seriously, I highly recommend getting an appointment with Alexa. The pricing is very reasonable and this is the first time I’ve walked out of a salon just feeling absolutely gorgeous. She also has a great personality and overall very kind. I’ve never gotten more compliments on my hair. I will definitely be going back!

I got my haircut here for the first time and had such a wonderful experience! Kailyn cut my hair and she did such a good job, I absolutely love my haircut! She was very thoughtful and kind throughout the entire appointment and even gave me a head massage when she was washing my hair. It's the little things that make for such a great experience. I will definitely be going back in the future to get my hair cut here again!

5 star place in every sense of the word. This was my first time getting my hair dyed & when I say the entire staff & team there was very helpful & instrumental throughout the entire process, I truly mean it. So you can imagine how excited, yet anxious I was. From the owner all the way down to the receptionist, everyone was very supportive & insightful in any thoughts they had to offer. I felt very welcomed not only by Alexa (the one who did an absolutely amazing job on my hair), but by every single person in there. Alexa was very communicative throughout the entire process leading up to the actual appointment. She answered any questions or concerns I had & did her best to explain the process of dying hair in a way in which I would understand. Throughout the actual dying of the hair, she was great in terms of walking me through each step, explaining what's happening next & ultimately helping me decide & bring to life the vision I had for myself. I'm very thankful for her & the work she did & energy she poured into this process with me. I will absolutely be heading back there soon for any & all work I need done with hair coloring, styling, etc. Go rock with this great team they have down there at Modern Muse Beauty Collective, if nothing else, they've definitely gained a new client in myself. Went for the first time today and will definitely be back. Great vibes and everyone is friendly. Alexa cut my hair and it turned out exactly how I wanted! She was very warm and friendly which made me feel relaxed vs. anxious getting a cut. So happy to have found a great place for hair in north Austin! Definitely recommend.

Elysse is the best! She had a serious workout with my hair Lol! and showed her dedication to achieve how I wanted it. First time going to somewhere that wasn’t Great Clips or Supercuts etc. due to changing hair texture. Honestly walked out a little unsure due to styling (per my request and the fault of my hair not the stylist!!) but can confidently say now I’m in love!! Elysse was so kind and addressed all my questions and hair concerns, and did an amazing job!

If I can give them 10 stars I would ✨️ I LOVED my experience there. I went for a makeup and half updo for myself and my daughter and they did a phenomenal job. Everyone was super nice and sweet and made us feel special. my daughter felt so comfortable and they handled her with such gentleness and care. My makeup and hair looked amazing when I tell you every single person at the wedding stopped me to compliment me I'm not exaggerating. They listened to my vision and made it happen better that I imagined and they were efficient and got me out early so I'm not rushing. I will definitely be coming back for other services ❤️

I don't usually leave reviews much, but I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience coming here a few weeks back. All of the staff is so friendly and the good vibes interacting with everyone created such a welcoming atmosphere! I was pretty nervous about not only cutting a good amount of hair off, but trying something new with purple color on the ends as well. I'm so incredibly happy with the cut and color I got from Adam; he was so kind, receptive, and thorough walking me through everything, making sure to keep the integrity and health of my hair a priority and I can't thank him enough for it! I've felt probably the prettiest in my hair after having it done here :'''D I strongly recommend this salon!

Katie has taken care of my hair since she started behind the chair 10+ years ago. She and her team have seen me through a million phases of my life and all of the highlights, lowlights, and gray blending that comes along with that. I trust Katie and her stylists implicitly, mostly relying on their recommendations since I have no vision of the specifics of what my hair should look like. I don't know how she does it, but Katie has a way of asking all the right questions to figure out what I'm looking for and executing that vision with little to no direction from me. I appreciate the full disclosue of the amount of time, upkeep, and financial investment each service will take. When I started a new job and didn't have as much time to spend at the salon, Katie rolled with it and adjusted her magic to suit my new lifestyle. I have never left the salon feeling less than amazing, full of confidence, and feeling great about myself. I've seen other stylists at the salon when my schedule hasn't meshed with Katie's and have had the same wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone on her team. I has been a joy to see her grow into the amazing business owner that she is, investing in herself and her time. I love the supportive vibe of the salon and will continue to stick with them as long as I have hair on my head.

Maddie is the best! I’m always anxious trying out a new hairstylist since hair can be an investment. Maddie made me feel so comfortable like we had been friends for years. She gave me amazing advice AND the best confidence. I loved Maddie so much, I had her do my bridal party’s hair for the wedding and all the girls were amazed. Not only was she amazing and sweet, so was the entire staff! They know how to make people feel welcomed. Definitely recommend them to everyone I know!
