Asked for a gel manicure but only received gel polish for my nails (no manicure). Unfortunately, this is how they look 35 hours later. Not sure how any of this happens after less than 2 days.

I was a walk in & they took me quick they did a good job on my gel pedicure. They will be a new backup plan to my main salon! Very polite woman working the front.

5/9/2022 not busy. My tech was very rough-so rough that she did not notice she smudged my nails. It too longer than usual. After my nails were so called dried which they were not, I asked if she was going to rub lotion on my hands, she said no and gave me the bottle. I walked out. I paid and gave a tip cause my actions are better than hers. (well you do have t pay before they are done) I will not go back

I came in Thursday at 4pm to get a simple gel polish change and a fill in on my big toes as they have acrylic on them. The shop itself is nice and so was the workers but unfortunately I was extremely dissatisfied. It was a rushed job and when doing my big toe I was cut and it began to bleed. She apologized and continued to work but at that point I was over it. I know it wasn’t done of purpose however that particular nail tech might need to revisit training so this doesn’t happen to someone else. I called my friend who suggested I ask for some sort of discount which I was given but it was only because I asked and she originally didn’t even know what to do. I still paid and tipped but I won’t be coming back to this location.

I first went to Modern Nails after a friend told me about it. I see Long and found him to be prompt, thorough and friendly and gentle with my nails and cuticles (unlike the experience I have had at other salons). It has become my go-to spot!!!

Modern Nails has been taking care of me fingers and toes for over 5 years. Linda and Long are among the most talented nail artists I’ve ever seen. Plain or fancy, short or long, they can do it all—and do it well. The shop is always sparkling clean, and I was comfortable going there during the pandemic. It has become one of my “happy” places, because they take such good care of me. 😍

My eyebrow lady has been doing my brows 6 years no one else has touched me. I mistakenly went here today and the service was horrible. I showed the woman a picture of the way i wanted my eyebrows. They looked horrible when they were done and i told her they were not how i wanted them. She argued me down that she did it right, i was so upset i just paid and left. She addressed my concerns with "no i did it how u asked me $10" they chatted 10 for eyebrows and i pay the lady that does mine 20 just for getting it right every time. Service is horrible customer means nothing to them. Will not be returning !

The people working here are kind, and friendly. I genuinely believe they are lovely people. That's why they get more than one star. This service was not at all up to par. I have lacerations on four fingers from the emory block. The acrylic is way too thick, and is actually lumpy, several nails are crooked, they are not the shape I asked for. There's acrylic and gel all on my cuticles and skin. I pointed out the crooked nails and she disagreed with me. I asked her to remove the excess gel and she quickly wiped on some acetone and did something with a cuticle cutter, but there was still a lot of residue. Honestly, press on nails from a drug store would have looked better. I asked for an ombre French, and it looks splotchy and full of air bubbles. She had too much polish on the sponge. My pedicure looks beautiful, but it's not the gel pedicure I asked for. It's also the wrong shape. I assumed she'd maintain the shape she found there. She just automatically made it square. I had an appointment for a process that takes two hours. They determined that my nails are not thick enough for it, and we chose to do acrylic tips instead. But the fact remains, 2 hours should have been available, yet she just rushed through everything like she had to move on immediately. I was so hopeful to find a place close to home. The photos in the reviews are amazing! I seriously doubt they belong to this shop. Look at some photos I took.

This was the first time I visited this shop Kim did a very good job I got a pedicure I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who would like to have a nice pedicure!

Today was my first visit at this nail salon and I must say it was a pleasure. Exceptionally nice, very polite staff. I love the atmosphere, cleanliness and most of all the awesome customer service ( which is usually rare these days). I will most definitely be returning here and sure to bring and tell others about my experience.

Avoid this place at all costs, the worst nail place i’ve been to. Customer service was average, but my nails are absolutely ATROCIOUS. My 6 year old cousin could do better, Save yourself the money and time and go somewhere else or just do them yourself.

I was a first time client here today and I can honestly say I will never be back. They were really kind and accommodating to be able to take a same day appointment but when I got there I was the only customer there and the person doing my nails seemed to be in a rush. So much so that she made my cuticles bleed on more than one finger, my gel polish is splotchy and some nails are uneven. I noticed how none of the tools seemed to be sanitized or even brushed off in between customers as there was old acrylic stuck to the nail file she took out to use on me…. I’ve never had service quite like this and I can say I never want to experience it again

I absolutely love this place. I don’t get my nails done consistently but when I do Modern Nails is where I go, for twenty plus years now. They are always professional, kind, and the shop is a very clean environment. They do amazing work at a reasonable price and I have had so many compliments since having since having my nails done. Highly recommend this place.

Today is a holiday, MLK day and they were open. I walked in and received a warm welcome by Mr. Long. He knew it was my first time there so he took really good care of me. He walked me through the entire process and told me that I was the "Boss" and to have it my way lol. He answered all of my questions and made me feel right at home. He did a French manicure and it was so beautiful . He took his time and did a great job, even though he was short staffed. He had a lady do my pedicure and she did a great job as well. This was my first time but it will not be my last. If you are looking for a clean and professional nail shop then look no further. Go and check out Modern Nails.

i went here yesterday (july 26, 2021) with my two younger cousins and the man who did my nails was very rough and didn't do my nails right. i was charged $40 for a full set with regular polish. i asked for plain white coffin shaped nails. he didnt push back any of my cuticles on either hand before doing my nails. instead of asking me to move forward when he needed better access of my hand he’d pull on me, when filling my nails he would twist my fingers to to try to get to a certain spot he needed to file but while doing that he was hurting me and when i showed clear discomfort on my face he simply did not care. the top coat that he put on my nails made them pink and bubbly. when i straighten out my hand you can see that almost all of the nails except the thumb are angled upward. most of the nails on each hand are very very crooked. and there was a hair on one of my nails. i really recommend you dont go here for acrylic nails.
