Sarah is a true expert in hair extensions. I came to her last year as someone with zero experience in hair extensions. My hair has thinned and my goal was to have fullness again. Sarah carefully explained what to expect and sourced me the perfect extensions for my hair. She uses the best materials and doesn’t cut corners. I have been back twice to move the extensions up since the original install and am very pleased with how things are going. This woman totally ruined my hair with the extensions. I ended up cutting it short yesterday. She has no idea how to care for African American hair and charges way too much money for destruction. She’s a fraud. Beware.

Sarah is an amazing hairstylist! When I first came to her about 2 years ago, my hair was extremely damaged and horribly colored. She has absolutely transformed my hair in the best way. Sarah does a great job of color matching hair extensions, as well as strategically installing them to look as natural as possible. My natural hair is growing and looks much healthier now that Sarah does my hair. Every time I leave her salon I feel so confident!

As grey hair began to grow in pretty heavy on each side of my face, I felt like it was time to change the rest of my hair color to match more toward the gray shades instead of the golden blonde shades ......simlply wanting a ONE COLOR FLOW instead of half my hair gray and half of my hair golden blonde.!!! For a couple of years I tried hair salons, ALL ASSURING ME THAT THEY COULD GIVE ME "EXACTLY" WHAT I WANTED........ only to leave each salon with the same "half gray half golden blonde look"....... it was terrible, that 2 color look was even more terrible!!!! I searched and searched and one day found Sarah. I was so impressed with her very clear knowledge of "hair correction", as well as appreciating her standards of excellence in the field of hair color, balance and flow. I was SO THANKFUL that she took me on as her client and felt so relieved that with a little time to "correct" the mess I had, she assured me that she could give me exactly what I had wanted for over 2 years. As the old saying goes "Actions speak louder that words" I have attached my hair colors "BEFORE & AFTER"...... as you can CLEARLY SEE.....my "after" was EXACTLY, EXACTLY, EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR!!!!!!!! I am so very happy and pleased each time I leave my appointments with Sarah, I think you will be just as happy and pleased as I have been !!!!!!! Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and experienced with hair color. She is a good listener and is in tune with her customer and will give realistic expectations. I found Sarah after moving to Charlotte four years ago and the first time that I visited her, she knew that I was very nervous about seeing a new stylist. Sarah was extremely patient and took her time with my hair. Over time, as she listened to my hair goals we made some agreed upon adjustments to my hair that I love and have left me with more natural looking color. I contribute this, completely, to Sarah’s understanding of color, hair, AND her really listening to what was most important to me.

After hearing my girlfriend complain about how she’s never happy with her salon visits, I decided to send my girlfriend a birthday surprise and booked her a color correction service with Sarah, and she was SO IMPRESSED by Sarah’s color skills. My girlfriend has naturally curly hair, and transitioning from black to blonde has never been easy. Thanks to Sarah, my girlfriend has been waking up loving her hair!

I chose to share this review just as an FYI. I made an appointment yesterday for a consultation today at 10 AM. The stylist texted me in the morning and said she was running behind 10 minutes, which I thought was considerate. However, upon getting to the salon at 10, she then texted she was actually going to be 15 minutes late. I sat waiting for her for 30 minutes and decided to leave. While waiting, I did text to ensure I was in the right spot and received no response and also tried to call her and still receive no response. Finally, 15 minutes after leaving, I did receive a text back and an explanation. The reason I’m writing this review is because in fairness, I paid a $55 consultation fee, used my day off and planned around this, and got no results. She did offer to refund the fee, but the waste of time is greatly frustrating. She did have something come up which she later disclosed to me, and I understand can happen. I did appreciate her apology. However, when I was 10 minutes away from the salon, I called and asked her if I was able to turn around and still have my consultation. She responded with unfortunately I have a client coming in 15 minutes , and proceeded to ask me if I wanted to come in at 4:30. I would assume that she would slightly inconvenience herself to accommodate me since I was there on time and waited 30 minutes, but this was not the case at all. Now, I must use another day off, find another stylist, and pay a fee all over again to have the same thing done. If your days off and time are valuable, I would unfortunately not recommend trying this place, despite its excellent reviews. Update, merchant said she would refund me my consultation fee. I just looked at my credit card statement (1 month later), and it is still there. Life happens, but someone who is as empathetic and truly apologetic for the situation as Sarah is stating would ensure to not take someone’s money for a service that was not provided. In addition, I drove 30 minutes to my appointment. While a sick child is truly unfortunate, the lack of empathy or understanding for my frustration of not being updated while I sat in a chair by the door with my child because the salon was locked and waited, is not someone I would chose to work with. No a sick child is not in your control but calling and keeping your clients is. A text takes no more than 30 seconds. Just as an FYI, for anyone looking to potentially try this hair salon, when one of the other salons saw me waiting, I was advised that this hairstylist is usually running a few minutes late and should be there soon until I told them just how late she was. So unfortunately, this does not appear to be a unique situation. Finally, your reference that the appointment was booked 24 hours before should be addressed. Yes, that is correct. Last time I checked though, I paid the same $55 for your consultation fee that another client would pay if they booked three months in advance. If the length of time ahead of a date that a client books an appointment determines the value and importance of that appointment, you should not make those appointment slots available to be booked online. Best of luck with your salon. I was hopeful with all the wonderful reviews I read but unfortunately, I am a working mom who values my time.

Sarah is absolutely incredible. I had an unfortunate experience at a different salon that left my hair uneven with purple toner streaked in my blonde hair 2 days before a family. Sarah was able to completely fix my hair with a color correction and a smudged root. I highly recommend coming to Sarah. She has been doing my hair for the past two years now.

She saved my hair! Highly recommend! Sarah fixed a horrible haircut I had received from a different salon. Everywhere I went told me my hair was too short to be fixed with extensions, but Sarah did it! I originally had a choppy bob haircut that went half way up my head in the back. I was devastated and thought I would have to have live with this haircut until it grew out (which would take at least a year). I had weddings, vacations, and the holidays coming up and I couldn’t imagine having to wear the bad cut I had for all those events. Sarah fit me into an emergency appointment time and within hours she had completely restored my look. Sarah was super kind and immediately understood what I needed for my hair. She had the best pricing out of anyone else nearby and was clearly an expert in hair extensions. Thank you Sarah!

I came to Sarah with chunky blonde highlights in the front and a darker Carmel color in the back. I was really upset with my hair and as soon as i came to her she gave me great recommendations on what to do. She fixed my color and evened it out. I’m happy with my hair every time now !!

I found Sarah when she was at 90 Degrees. My hair needed a color correction badly! It was brassy-orange and 4 different colors. She worked her magic on my hair! Now I get hand tied extensions and love how natural it looks. She recommended the perfect texture and it blends in so well with my hair, that no one believes they’re extensions! I have been going to Sarah for over a year now and could not be happier with my hair! Before my first appointment, I had years and years of hair damage from sports, and simply not prioritizing my hair. My goal when finding a new hair salon was to make my hair healthy again, and have it become longer and thicker. I was always hesitant to get hand tied extensions, although I had heard great things in the past about how they did not damage your hair, and actually allowed it to grow. However, I still feared that it would not look natural or that it would be uncomfortable to live with. With that being said, once I got to Modern Style Studio, Sarah fully explained the process, how they work, and truly listened to my goals for my hair. I always preached to her that I wanted my hair took natural, whether it was the extensions or highlights, and she has always done just that. Not only has she been amazing when I am in the salon, but she has also suggested so many great products that have helped outside of the salon as well. Now, one year later, I have been able to go from 4 rows of extensions to just 1. My hair has grown multiple inches, and is noticeably much healthier and thicker. I am so grateful for the difference Sarah has made in my hair, and I would highly recommend her services!

Sarah is the best! I have been coming to her for a little over a year now and have nothing but great things to say! She has cut, colored, and done custom hand-tied extensions for me - everything has been great quality and out-lasted anywhere else that I've gone. I live in Jacksonville, NC and made the 4 hour journey to meet with Sarah. She has amazing knowledge of all hair types and colors. She gives you all the information you need to know and talks you through the process as well! I wasn’t feeling confident with my short hair and wanted to get extensions. I received 6 layers of 24inch extensions, they were beautiful and healthy. She made me feel very comfortable and relaxed through the whole process. I left feeling the most confident and beautiful, I had ever felt in a long time!! If you ever want to do anything to your hair, even if it’s a simple cut or dye, definitely go to Mrs. Sarah!!!

I recently moved fr NJ and had to find someone that I can trust with coloring my hair and not damage my curls. After some research on IG I am So happy I found Sarah! She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She has expertise in dealing with curly and ethnic hair. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I enjoyed the one on one atmosphere. It’s hard to find someone who has experience with Asian hair textures and color. Sarah has been coloring my hair and for over 15 years, and I will never go anywhere else! My balayage looks very natural, even after 3 months i and still getting compliments on my color! My hair started thinning due to hormonal changes, so I’ve been getting hand tied extensions. I’ve been using the Eurasian collection hair for a year and a half now and it doesn’t tangle or shed, and is easy to manage. Thanks to Sarah I feel like I’ve gotten my confidence back!

Just want to come on here and say how much I LOVE Sarah and Modern Style Studio! I have had extensions for over 5 years and I have never had my hair look as good as it does because of Sarah. After years of living in San Francisco and frequenting what I thought was my favorite salon with the best quality hair extensions, I finally found Sarah who blew my mind with the quality of the hair extensions she installed for me. I have now realized that the extensions I had previously were very low quality (even though they claimed to be the best of the best). Moving back to the east coast, it was hard for me to find a salon that installed Micro Link hair extensions, but after some digging I was lucky enough to find Sarah! I was a blonde forever and told Sarah I wanted to switch it up and go brown. Besides a few inspiration pictures, I gave her very little direction and she totally transformed me into the brunette of my dreams! She is truly the best at what she does and only uses products that she believes in for her clients. If you are looking for hair extensions (she does many different types), or just color or a cut, I would look no further. Not only are her products and services the best of the best, she is so down to earth and fun to be around. I truly love her vibe! So happy to have found Sarah and Modern Style Studio.

Loved my hair! Had cut and color. Went from long half virgin half black box dye to medium balayage hair. Loved that she listened and did her best to give me what I was looking for. She started off by explaining what I could expect from an initial visit. She also shows personal interest in her clients. Her salon is an intimate experience which I did not expect but LOVED the privacy. I found her looking at salon reviews on google so if you’re doing the same and reading this, you’ve found the place! My mom and I found Sarah online and we saw she had amazing results with color correction and extensions and let me tell you they were all right. We had a blast with her, she fix my mom hair which was in fact really damage and Sarah took her time and made it a masterpiece.
