Had a long hair cut appointment for my wife and Maria did a fantastic job with the cut! She was very attentive to her styling needs and patient with listening to feedback as she was cutting the hair. Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in the salon and my wife had fun conversations during the session as well, despite her anxiety being a first time customer here. Highly recommend the salon, even for Asian hairstyles.

The shop was decorated beautifully! The "Lather Room" where they shampoos was AWESOME! Never has my neck been comfortable in a shampoo bowl but here!! Why don't more salons have this?? Ask for Amanda, SHES FANTASTIC!!

I went to Modesta Salon today for the first time. It was truly the "Best" experience I have ever had in a hair salon. I'm 75 yrs old, so I've been to a few, lol. Maria is truly a "Master Stylist", I love my new hairstyle and cut. Plus, her showing me how to take care of my hair and recommending the right products to use (without pushing) is a huge help for me. The scalp massage (which is included with the haircut) is an experience that is absolutely "Wonderful" !!! I highly recommend you try Modesta Salon, you will quickly become a client. I know, I have. I’ve been seeing Maria ever since I moved to St. Louis 10 years ago and she has always nailed the lived in color for me! I give her minimal direction and always tell her to have fun and do what she thinks would look best- highly recommend her!

I absolutely love this salon. It's conveniently located, there's always plenty of parking, the salon is clean and bright and everyone who works there is extremely nice. They also all get along, so there's a real vibe of community which makes me feel very comfortable when I'm there. Jessica is my stylist and she is absolutely amazing! She is a wizard with color and I always leave feeling like a million bucks! I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for a place to get great service. I also want to mention how great they've handled the pandemic. I was hesitant to go back but after a few months of home dye, my hair was looking rough and so I bit the bullet and made an appt. They limit their appointments so there are never more than a few people in the salon at any given time. They provide masks that stick on your face so your mask won't get dirty with dye or water from your hair wash, and they sanitize everything between customers. I feel very safe in that environment.

I’ve been to Modesta twice now and have had absolutely wonderful experiences. Coming off of a not-so-great coloring experience at another salon, Theresa and the rest of the team did a wonderful job and made me feel so comfortable even though I was nervous to color my hair again. It turned out beautifully and they were even able to fix/style my bangs that have been bugging me for months!

Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Got my hair cut short from a COVID grow-out by Alyssa, who completely knocked it out of the park. The salon has a very relaxing and chill vibe. Would recommend. 5/5

DJ was phenomenal. I'm new to area so was in desperate need of a good salon considering great clips butchered my hair almost into a mullet. I gave DJ an idea and he ran with it and was so personable relatable and friendly not to mention GREAT conversation. By the end of it all I told him he was hired and I'm thinking I won't be going to anyone else in the near future. I'm extremely happy with my short semi stacked Bob nobody has ever achieved making me look good and stylish with short hair!

Love love love this place! During the covid quarantine I had done quite a number on my hair with home hair cuts and coloring. I left the salon looking and feeling fantastic with a new color and great hair cut.

When I first entered the Salon, I noticed how clean, very roomy&comfortable, classy and elegant design it is. Since the coronavirus going on, they are very sanitizing, and follow the have to wear masks rule, they provide customers with face masks that stick onto the face so the strings of the masks don't get in the way of the haircuts. The employees are very nice, friendly, and good listeners to your ideas of hairstyles you want. Very professional and skilled! I was very pleased with my new haircut! I will recommend this salon to all my family and friends!!!

I had the most amazing experience at Modesta Salon! My stylist Maria Knight who owns this killer Maplewood salon made my first visit in absolutely amazing! I’ve searched high and low to find a salon in St.louis who truly cares about their clients. I am so thrilled. My search is over. I love my hair. She really is a hair wizard!!

Jessica Kolios did a fantastic job with my 14 year old son, who has long hair and wanted highlights. The owner has done a great job of creating a space that feels both "hip" and welcoming. Not an easy thing to do. Jessica took my son's requests seriously and collaborated with him on highlights and a cut that were just what he wanted. This matters because I can't count the number of times he's been frustrated after an appointment because the styslist sees a kid and just does what THEY want, not what he envisions. Like a lot of people, the pandemic has really impacted my mood. The COVID growth brought gray hair and the months of growing and I would up with a strange mix of highlighted light blonde, natural dark blonde, and gray "highlights" that were starting to take over. I avoided dealing with is but after seeing Jessica's success with my son, I decided to make an appointment for a color. I'm in my 50s. I don't need to pretend that I'm not going gray. Jessica really listened and created a gray Balayage that is PERFECT. My goal was simple: "Don't look bad." Given my mindset in 2020, that was my aspiration. Thanks to Jessica, I look GREAT! She also gave me a haircut that managed to lighten up my hair enough that the natural wave has a chance. Now, I catch myself in the mirror and feel happy all over again. It looks great down, it looks great in a messy high bun, it looks great in a low chignon. I even went out and got new classes. I'm updated! Who knew it was possible! Apparently, Jessica Kolios did. I didn't know Jessica before her appointment with my son. She contributed a certificate to a fund raiser for his school and that's how he wound up in her chair. She's not just nice. She's kind. She knows how to listen and she's a great stylist. If you're looking for someone to make you look and feel great--don't hesitate. You've found her!
