I had an appointment in advance of a very special evening event. I got to the appointment about 15 minutes early, only for the stylist to let me know that they were running at least 30 minutes late. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an alternative salon for the event. I had been super excited to try out the salon given reviews, but given the experience and not having received any notice that they were running late, I will have to look around for another salon.

Shanna and team are the best! I've been seeing Shanna for the past five years and she does an incredible job every time I see her. I have a huge mane of thick blonde hair and she successfully tames it every time. The salon is so cute too and the location is super convenient. It's such a challenge to find the right salon, but Monarch is the best!

I am so happy I found this salon & Ally. I used to drive all the way to San Carlos from SF and now I don’t have to! Ally listened to what I wanted done, she was patient, kind and gave me all the layers I wanted. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend Ally & the salon.

Alyssa did magic on my hair. I needed a correction after some pretty terrible highlights and she was amazing with walking me through her process, checking in with me and making sure my hair turned out how I wanted. Highly recommend her!

Lucky was amazing! If you're looking for someone who truly understands hair, I'd highly recommend Monarch Salon. I've been to quite a few salons in SF looking for someone who is good with natural blondes, and none has been better than here!

Her attention to detail began even before my visit, ensuring a smooth and accommodating experience. During my appointment, Shanna went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout the process. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor instantly put me at ease. Most importantly, I am absolutely thrilled with the haircut I received from Shanna. She clearly has a talent for hair styling, and I am now completely obsessed with my new look. Safe to say, I'll be eagerly returning for future appointments.

Incredible!! Lucky is such an expert, she collaborated with me to come up with the best plan. She BLEW me away - she spent so much time on my hair, she had the most innovative techniques and I have never had balayage look so natural and fresh.

Had my first appointment at Monarch with Lucky the other day and she is amazing! I asked for a reverse balayage/some low lights to darken my hair to my more natural shade and she did exactly that. Will be going back next time for sure :)

Monarch Salon is absolutely delightful – it exudes charm, cleanliness, and comfort. This was my first salon experience in San Francisco, and I couldn't recommend it more highly. Lucky, the stylist, is an absolute gem. Not only is she kind and hospitable, but her talent and experience truly shine. I didn’t know how good a routine haircut could be until Lucky. She totally understood what I wanted and over delivered! I’ve never had a haircut that I love so much. She is also incredibly personable, professional, and just all around lovely. Absolutely coming back!!

I've been seeing Shanna for my hair for like 5 or 6 years now and I am always so thrilled with how my hair turns out. She is always consistent and kind and my cut and color are always STUNNING after she's done with me. I always walk out feeling more like myself than I had for weeks, she really understands what I like. Love that she came back from San Diego!
