Anabel has been doing my hair forever. She is so sweet and my experience at Montenegro Salon & Spa has always been wonderful. Everyone there has been very welcoming and overall nice. I have always left the salon LOVING my hair, especially when Anabel dyed my hair pink! It was so fun and the color came out perfect. We’ve done a few different things over the years, but I was blonde for the LONGEST time, and it was always perfect.

I could not recommend Montenegro salon more! After 8 years in El Paso, I could not seem to find a salon where I felt comfortable and cared for. Anabel is such an experienced and talented hair stylist and every time I visit the salon, I leave happy and feeling beautiful.

I had highlights, color and haircut done with Anabel. Anabel is the best because she takes her time and knows exactly how I like my hair. She allows the customer to tell her how they want their. She's very patient and she is just awesome. If you all want to look stunning and beautiful, Anabel is your hair dresser/girl. BRAVO!!

The best place in El Paso for color hands down. I’ve been going with Anabel for the past 6 years and I’ve had everything from platinum blonde to copper to auburn to brown and everything in between, and it turns out perfectly every time. Anabel has done short bobs, mid length styles, and extensions and I’ve loved each one. I won’t go with anyone else. Recently I went from dark auburn brown to PLATINUM blonde, and it looks amazing. Above all, the integrity of my hair is perfect. Even with all my color changes over the years, my hair is healthier than it’s ever been because she prioritizes healthy hair. She keeps up with her education to stay current on so many different techniques. The best part, you don’t have to sacrifice your results to keep healthy hair. I’ve never taken her an inspiration pic she couldn’t make happen!!

And Aracely, a wonderful girl who creates a great connection with young people. My 15-year-old son, Alex, was super happy with her service. Now that I found a new stylist, I see that not only was I being scammed, but I was also a guinea pig. I love the girls here, they're all very nice, but I feel very betrayed by Anabel. I would not recommend for any fantasy colors done here. Way overpriced for the poor work. I do feel really dumb for going back as often as I did, but I'm glad I was able to find someone else that didn't feel the need to take advantage of me or experiment on me. The pictures are the SAME job and the last job I ever got done there. --- 1. Got my whole head bleached in one go—was super happy. Not the exact color I wanted, but was nice! 2. I had used box dye before this appointment and made a mess of my hair. Was left with ugly Barney purple hair. Anabel says it’s my fault, so sure, I’ll take that. 3. 3rd time’s a charm, but not really. Was okay, still not what I wanted. There was an issue with getting a halo around my head. Can’t blame shampoo on that. But this was my fault somehow. Went for a re-do. Got a color I didn’t want. 4. Another try at the color I wanted. Didn’t get what I wanted. Almost completely white hair. Assistant even made a comment about this not being anything like what I had asked. Very white with a hint of blue? Next day, had a halo around my head and was blotchy. No box dye, no shampoo, no excuse to mess this up. Had to go back for a re-do. 5. Got a plum color, despite it not being what I wanted. Still ended up liking the color tho! Decided I’d stick with this color! 6. Went for a retouch. Wanted same color I had. Ended up with a Barney purple halo, dark purple in the front, and no color at all in the back. Plum color nowhere to be found. No box dye, no shampoo, no excuse to mess this up. Pictures attached. This is the gist of it. Sure, I made a mistake the first time with the box dye, but there’s no excuse after that. I would have been able to move past all the previous stuff, if in the last appointment I had gotten what I wanted. We had found a color I was happy with; I was told she saved the formula. I didn’t do anything to my hair that could have compromised the recolor. And yet, I ended up with a mess again. Those pictures are from the last appointment. There is no reason to leave a salon with hair looking like that, especially after I paid so much. And that’s what was upsetting. --- EDIT: Thank you for your side of it Anabel, but surely you know in your heart that your failures weren’t entirely my fault. Take a look at the pictures. That's what you left me with, and there's no box dye, shampoo, or anything else to blame on this one.

This salon is pristine and welcoming. Annabel is a wonderful stylist. It is a challenge for me to find a person who can work on my hair because it is so fine, but she has been amazing! I will keep coming back.

My first time at this salon, and Sandra made the whole experience wonderful. I went from long to short hair, and I love my hair cut. She also taught me how to style my hair. She was so awesome and worth every penny.

Sandra is absolutely amazing! She truly listened to what I wanted and gave me the perfect haircut, considering my face shape and hair type. I left feeling confident and refreshed. Sandra has an incredible eye for color and managed to perfectly blend my highlights and cover my greys, giving me a natural-looking dimension!! I highly recommend Montenegro Salon and specifically Sandra!!

Sandra is an absolute wizard at doing hair! She gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. She was gentle with washing and combing, and had such good knowledge about how exactly to make my hair look as good as possible. She’s a pro, I have never had a hairstylist know exactly what to do with my hair like she did. I am so impressed!!

What is there not to love??? Both Anabel for hair and Araceli for skin are AMAZING professionals and people as well! I always feel at home when I walk through their doors. They are both so personable and have such an incredible level of expertise in their fields. If you are looking for the best hairstylist/colorist and aesthetician in the city, look no futher! Anabel took my hair from dry, damaged, and slow growing to lucious, healthy, and FAST growing in my hair journey with her! Araceli has been doing my brows for ages and has done the most perfect job in preserving/enhancing them and I am about to have my first custom facial with her! I am so grateful for both of these ladies as you will be too! Anabel does the most amazing balayage for me and blonde services for my friends and she is so skilled, kind, and realistic when it comes to hair goals. We love an encouraging and skilled queen of their practice! I could go on and on about the lovely people at this salon but I am a VERY hard won customer and the staff with their service, professionalism, and skill are unmatched in the city of El Paso. I have been doing my hair with Anabel for 5+ years and I won’t go anywhere else. Everyone these is super friendly, welcoming and fun! I can trust that every time I need a service I will be taken care of with professionalism too. My favorite part… I KNOW that I can trust Anabel with my choice of change. She will be completely honest when it comes to telling me if it’s the right choice I am making. Would not skip that I have also gotten my nails there and Elizabeth is super fun and AMAZING! I have been going to Annabell for years she is the only stylist I let do my hair. She does great work always gets my desired color identical. Araceli also does a great job on my eyebrows and facials. If your looking for great results and excellent customer service I recommend.

I have been with Anabel for almost 15 years and she does amazing work!! I have curly hair and she is the only one I trust to cut it correctly!! She is amazing at hair color and is very dedicated to all of her customers! I go to Araceli for styling and she does such a great job!! They both make me feel so comfortable and welcome. If you’re looking for a salon this is the place for you!!!

I absolutely love this salon! Annabelle has such calm and positive energy, and her talent with fantasy colors is the best I've experienced! The salon is clean and neat and they don't play the music super loud, which for me is a big deal. I even convinced my husband to come here for his haircuts and maybe a fantasy color soon! 10/10 would recommend this business!

I chose to get a haircut at this Salon specifically because of the great reviews. To make my review short, I basically payed $75 for cut/wash/style and I even gave a tip just to find out my hair wasn't cut right when I straightened it at home. At the salon I got a blow-dry hair style which had like a small curl on the tips of my hair, therefore I couldn't see how it ACTUALLY looked. I actually thought it looked good when I was leaving the salon I was happy with my hair and even praised the 2 ladies that worked on. It. Maybe I should've known better actually when the first lady started asking for help from another hairdresser. I like to give the benefit of the doubt so I didn't question her on how long she had been cutting hair for, but I DID ask her in the beginning if she had experience with layering. All in all, I'm sure there are great hairdressers at this location, but mine was inexperienced and I will not be returning to this location. Unfortunately, I also can't recommend this location. If u look at the picture I included, you can see pieces of long hair at the bottom that weren't cut. Oh and by the way, it's supposed to be a V cut, but the bottom is so messed up.

This has been my hair salon since I moved to this city. Anabel, the owner, brought my hair to "life". She's the very best when it comes to color. She's also very punctual with her appointments, so you don't lose your time in the waiting room. The salon is always very clean and you'll feel welcome since you enter.
