Originally, I don’t look good with perms. After I went there and talked to my hair stylist, He offered me a volume magic on top and a C-curl perm on the bottom. Honestly, you‘ve probably heard Koreans take pictures and say, ”Please do this,“ and they say, ”This is a dry perm.“ But, he was really different! He did my hair the way I wanted it, and I also did my hair half-curly, but my hair was too frizzy. But it became too calm and luxurious. Looking at the pictures, the hair itself will look too luxurious. I really recommend this place, and I fully decided the style you want after consulting with my hair stylist, and I was so satisfied!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ He kindly taught me how to style my hair when I dry it later. I can’t help but to be a bit skeptical with the 3 - one star reviews. It’s all written by someone who’s “friend” had a bad experience. Sounds more like a one star review written by a competitor. LOL My family has been getting our hair done by Moon for many years and we are always more than satisfied. I personally have tried all the hair salons in Centreville over the years and end up regretting. He works the scissors just like the pros in Gangnam. Just as important, he doesn’t overbook which means almost no waiting. I highly recommend!

Mr Moon had been cutting my hair for over 2 years now, and I have nothing but great things to say about him. He’s very kind, always welcoming and most of all he’s a very talented hairstylist/barber. He pays very close attention to detail to your hair and is probably the most precise barber I’ve ever had. For the longest time I’ve been trying to tell him to make an Instagram or a portfolio for his haircuts because every time I get mine done from him, I leave feeling so fresh and the compliments I get from my friends and family are always great. Today he asked me to leave an honest review and I did not hesitate in doing so. Mr Moon if you’re reading this, thank you for always taking care of me and giving me the best haircuts throughout the years. I appreciate you, and will always recommend you whenever I am asked.

I strongly recommend Mr. Moon to everyone. He is an expert in hairdressing and knows the latest trends in the industry. My entire family have been visiting him for last 5 years and there is always consistency in his work. He is the best hairstylist/barber in DMV area!

I've been using Moonhair for several years now, mainly for bleaching and dyeing, and he is an incredibly honest and straightforward designer. I've had experiences with other salons where I requested a unique color that required bleaching more than five times. The designer, disregarding the condition of my hair, insisted it was possible. After about three bleaching sessions, my hair started breaking off, and I couldn't even dye it, let alone bleach it further. As someone who frequently bleaches their hair, I'm familiar with the additional costs with each bleaching session, but I ended up paying for three sessions and getting a mess of hair as a result. However, Mr. Moon always assesses the condition of my hair before starting the bleaching process and estimates how many sessions are possible. He always informs me whether the color I want is achievable, suggests alternative colors if necessary, and provides excellent shampoo massage services, which I prefer. When considering dyeing, I highly recommend this salon. In comparison to other salons, the price for bleaching was average, and although I didn't inquire about the brand of bleach used, it was less harsh compared to other salons. (My scalp always hurts so much after bleaching at other salons.)

A cautionary tale to future clients who are thinking of getting their hair done here: my friend got her hair done here and suffered notoriously after. 💀 I normally don't leave scathing reviews like this as I am well aware at how difficult it can be to color hair and get it looking exactly like the reference photos. However, in this situation I felt deeply compelled to leave a review to warn others. A woman's hair is everything and I would hate for someone else to have to go through the same thing my friend did. 😭 She asked for a similar style to the fourth photo I have attached (the reference photo) and was comforted by the hair stylist's quick reply in confidence and enthusiasm at being able to achieve the look. She left the salon looking like a middle-schooler who just discovered what bleach is... With the money and time that was put in, you would've at least expected the bleach to be blended in... however, as you can see in the three photos- she left with insane streaks and choppy coloring. She would've been in better hands if a middle-schooler had actually done her hair. The main issue is that when I went with my friend to complain to the stylist- he was immediately trying to put the blame on the simple fact that my friend had not "asked for highlights"..... which is insane to say because the reference photo she showed him clearly has highlights 😒 When we brought up the reference photo and showed it to him, he even had the audacity to say that my friend had not shown him that photo.... Did he look at her phone with his eyes closed??? No sense of consideration, no sense of apology towards the time wasted and emotional distress that was caused; all in all- just a man assuming he's done the best work and not being able to handle criticism when it's rightfully due. Would never recommend his services to anyone.

I came here with my boyfriend and I asked for a really short wolfcut! Mr. Moon saw out reference photos and cut our hair perfectly! I had cut my bangs pretty short beforehand, so he told me it couldn’t look like my reference photos exactly. We made a compromise and I got the hairstyle I wanted! It came out extremely well and for a reasonable price too! He’s also extremely kind and very thoughtful! I can’t recommend him enough!

Mr. Moon does an excellent job with both women's and men's cuts. I originally started sending my husband to Mr. Moon to get his hair cuts and was so impressed with the results I decided to give him a try myself. His prices are great especially for the quality of cuts and coloring he provides. Definitely give him a chance if you are looking for a new hairstylist in the area, I would recommend him for any hair services!

Mr. Moon is fantastic at what he does. He’s very courteous and understanding as he takes everything you desire from a haircut into consideration. It’s safe to say that you don’t have to worry about the “2 week rule” after getting your hair cut here. Seriously! 10/10

Mr. Moon is a fantastic hair stylist. The place is a little run down, but honestly doesn’t bother me. Doesn’t affect the quality of the stylist IMO. Moon was very nice. I’d showed him pictures of what I wanted and he absolutely nailed it. The haircut was speedy but top notch. I have coarse thick hair, so many barbers don’t cut it well. Will leave awkward parts sticking up and what not but not moon. My hair looks fantastic. Not much small talk during the hair cut which I love. I hate the awkward hi how are you that hair stylists always do. Tip: he takes Venmo or cash for payment!
