I have naturally curly hair, which I never fully appreciated and always ended up blow-drying straight. I decided to give this salon a try in the hopes of finding a haircut that would allow me to embrace my curls. I’m so glad I did! I absolutely love the haircut, and for the first time, I truly enjoy wearing my hair in its natural curly state. Thank you for helping me embrace my curls and feel confident with them!

Attached pics are before and after. It had been over a year since my last cut and I took a big chance, and at big expense, on this place. Absolutely amazing! What an experience, I feel like a new person. Derek was phenomenal in explaining how the Deva cut worked (dry cut), and took into consideration my routine and discussed the products I used regularly. The way he took such small pieces and shaped the whole look to what I had explained was awesome. Such great knowledge and guidance! From the cut, to the wash, to the condition, to the styling... just absolutely blown away. I cannot recommend Mop enough. Everyone I interacted with was kind, and Derek especially.

Derek was fabulous! He was very knowledgeable and personable, and helped identify what changes my hair needed to show off its curl pattern best. My hair has never looked or felt better, and I learned lots from him for upkeep between appointments!

This whole experience was so positive. I have pretty long, curly hair and left my appointment with Derek happier than anywhere else I’ve gone. The cut and style was my favorite ever, and equally important was how much I learned about my hair and how to care for it. Derek found out about my hair history and routine and helped me feel comfortable asking all kinds of follow-up questions. Beyond worth the drive from Boston!

10/10. What a wonderful experience. This is the first haircut I have actually liked since I left Florida 10 years ago. The shop is beautiful, clean, and the hair dressers are friendly and knowledgeable. They clearly know curls!! And that is hard to find. I had an appointment with Derek, and he was a gem. He cut my hair gorgeously, patiently cared for it with the upmost curl expertise, and was so friendly and sweet. This is now my favorite place and I will never go for a haircut anywhere else in MA. I highly recommend! I commuted out from Somerville and it was worth it 100%.

First time going to a salon since the pandemic started and I was blown away. The staff here are so friendly and I really felt that they listened to me when I told them what I was looking for, even when I had a hard time describing what it was I wanted. The cut and color both came out great, and I even got some styling tips that work with the amount of time and energy I'm willing to put into my hair. This is an LGBTQ-friendly establishment! I identify as gender non-conforming and they used my preferred pronouns the entire visit without question. An all-around great experience, and I have another appointment in a few weeks!

went for a deep conditioning treatment and haircut for my split ends. Derek was very knowledgeable and deft with my hair, i felt like i was in great hands. hair turned out super soft and healthy-looking, i highly recommend this establishment!

I cannot say enough good things about Mop Hair. I have been getting devacuts by Cory for the last 3 1/2 years and every single time I have left beyond thrilled with my hair. I have gone in wanting to keep my hair's length with a reshaping, and I have gone in wanting to completely change my hair length and style, every single time Cory has spectacularly delivered. Cory is a wonderfully personable stylist who I enjoy talking with and always makes me feel like I'm at home. Over the years I have had many bad experiences with salons not knowing how to handle curly hair, but now that I have found Mop Hair every single visit to the salon is enjoyable and leaves me feeling extremely good about my hair. Additionally, Mop Hair is an extremely welcoming salon, their COVID protocols have allowed for safe appointments during the pandemic, and the online booking system is very easy to use. If you are a curly hair girl looking for a salon in the Boston Area, then look no further - Mop Hair is the salon for you.

I never write reviews but I had to make it known -- THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!! I have been terrified of hair salons since middle school because nobody knew how to cut my curly hair and I resorted to cutting it myself, although it never really looked as good as a quality salon cut. I decided to face my fears and I'm so glad I did. Nicole was SO kind and did AMAZING in trimming and cutting my hair to perfection, exactly how I wanted it, without sacrificing any length. Highly recommend and this has become my new salon in Boston. The prices are WORTH IT!!

Was in Mop salon a week ago - the experience was fantastic! Derek gave me a haircut on the long hair. First of all- he listened carefully about what I want: I wanted to cut my hair, but I wanted to be able to do a nice ponytail and secondly, I needed a low maintenance haircut. He did a great job: my husband said I look gorgeous when I got home and a week after I test it with all my favorite hairdo it looks great. Highly recommend this place!
