This was the worst haircut I’ve ever received. The right side is noticeably longer than the left, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. They require you to come in for a consultation and ask for photos to understand what you're looking for, which I uploaded ahead of time. However, the stylist didn’t even bother to look at them. What’s the point of asking for this information if you’re not going to use it? Also, if you're offering consultations, you should provide an estimated cost of services upfront.

Will never give them business again. I had a good experience here 5 or 6 years ago, when I used to have enough money to highlight my hair. I haven't had a good "real' cut and color in 5 or 6 years. Maybe longer. I finally got the time and guts to call and make an appointment. The receptionist said I couldn't have a cut and color appointment because it had been too long since I was there. I would have to first come in for a haircut and a consultation. The consultation would be free, so that's something I guess. I have 3 small kids and just hearing that I was going to have to make two separate appointments (and pay for them both, mind you) made me so mad. I'm a paying customer. If I want to pay for someone to cut and color my hair, that should be up to me! I just called to cancel and I explained why. The woman on the other end heard me out and then just said, " Um. Ok".

I had the best experience at Moxie! CiCi is an amazing stylist and the environment of the salon blew me away. Everyone is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and you can tell everyone that works there enjoys being there. Thank you guys and I’ll definitely be back!

Service is friendly, but curly hair stylists aren’t as versed in curly hair as they claim to be. For reference, I have 2C-3A curly hair. One of the first questions I was asked by my curly stylist was if I get my hair cut wet or dry. The first rule of curly haircuts is that it is cut dry. I was apprehensive but went along with the cut. My stylist did not part by hair down the middle, as is the custom, and instead just trimmed off tiny sections off the top layer of my hair. She did not section off my hair, only trimmed off around the top. After only 45 minutes (curly hair cuts are normally at least 90 minutes) I wondered what I just paid $85 for. I also got some blonde highlights on my roots, and noticed afterwards that my hair had been fried. It was broken and not done properly. I was happy with the cut initially. But when I got home, I noticed my hair was laying weirdly. I eventually went to a curly hair specialist at a different salon who informed me my hair was not cut correctly. I then had to get three haircuts over the span of a year to correct the cut I got here from a curly “specialist”. I was surprised I got such a bad cut from a master level 2 stylist. Curly girls, please stay away!

I had an awesome experience at Moxie today! I had a last minute opening in my schedule and requested an appointment. I only gave them 48 hours notice, so I knew there was a chance I could not be seen. To my pleasant surprise, the salon got back to me quickly and was able to fit me in without issue. Upon arriving, the desk staff was extremely friendly and the waiting area was cozy. The salon was buzzing and the vibe inside was great. You really felt a sense of community in there! I was eventually taken to Kitty's chair, who took the time to listen to my history and half-baked vision for a new look. I sat in that chair not really knowing what I wanted, but she asked all the right questions and together we came up with a plan. What I really appreciated is how she took my hair type and lifestyle into consideration as she made her suggestions. I have very wavy, almost curly hair and she approached my cut in a way I've never seen a stylist do before. She first cut my hair while it was dry, and then after shampooing/conditioning, she set my waves and made very meticulous and precise cuts as they began to dry. I have never in my 30 years of life had a hair stylist do this, and the transformation was immediately seen and felt. My hair feels so light, bouncy, and healthy and my waves dried beautifully. On top of her expertise and talent, Kitty was an awesome conversationalist and I really had a lot of fun being in her chair. For all the wavy/curly haired girlies, I highly recommend Kitty!

Today I had a phenomenal haircut by Saray! She gave me exactly what I wanted with fantastic attention to detail. She not only listened to and heard everything I wanted with my cut, but she executed it flawlessly. Will be back for her!

WOW! I just moved to the area from Fredericksburg. I’ve never had a consistent hair stylist and after much research, I was lead to Moxie. What I thought would be a normally good experience (because I’ve become cynical and cautious of getting my hair done without some kind of disappointment or anxiety) proved to be the best hair appointment of my entire life. And it started with a bang! The salon was poppin’ and I was quickly enamored by the aesthetic, the photographs on the walls (I’m a wedding photographer so that’s one of the first things that I notice), and pretty bottles products. I glanced at the bottles and counted so many shades of amber, lavender, and mother of pearl. I was greeted by friendly stylists and checked in. I was served cheerfully and I met my new stylist, Shannon. She was beyond delightful; I could spend minutes detailing her prowess and the wonderful conversation that we shared. Quick notes: she was emotionally intuitive, a phenomenal listener and conversationalist, as well as someone I came to trust very quickly. Her 25+ years of experience was absolutely apparent. She and I determined what style worked best for me and after she worked her magic, I met Celeste who blow dried my hair. This blowout Y’ALL!!!!! I had 4 inches taken off; I’ve always had long hair and it’s struggled in the past three years because of stress and lack of self-care. I have anxiety surrounding going to the hair salon because I’ve had poor experiences; I shared that with Shannon and she was so kind, attentive, and fun! I felt so special. After my cut, Celeste and I shared lovely conversation about weekend plans and how our lines of work overlap. She even brought me a hot coffee and a carefully curated candy cup! Say that four times fast. 🤣 Absolutely lovely! I left with a boost of confidence and a hug, as well a few cute pix of my new do. Thanks to everyone at Moxie, especially Shannon and Celeste! I’ll see ya in 3 months! 💇‍♀️

Might not recommend for men. Didn’t clean up the neck or sideburns, had to do it at home afterwards. Service felt extremely rushed and he didn’t feel heard. For the price I’d expect alil better.

Cici took a vague description of my somewhat alternative hairstyle and knocked it out of the park. I’ll never cut my hair on my own again. The studio is also so beautiful and a treat to be in. Thank you Cici for the amazing cut I will be suggesting her to everyone I know.

I want to heap praise on DeLuna! Not only was she fun to talk with, she outdid my vision for my cut. Dang, I look good! If you're looking for a men's cut I fully recommend DeLuna and Moxie. Great atmosphere and staff!
