Sonia is so talented! I love my hard gel nails and get so many complements on the color! 💕✨ this is one whole month from getting them done and they have not chipped or anything!! Also they are helping my natural nails get stronger and longer. I will be going back for a fill in within the next couple of weeks. So happy 💞

Andre understood the assignment! What a blow out! The man is talented beyond words! The owner was so wonderful and kind and fit us in last minute! My hair looked like I was walking down the runway! May I add Andre is so pleasent and wonderful! What diamond. Thank you so much Andre for the hospitality and the love! You are amazing! If I could I would give this man a 10+++ Thank you Andre!

I’ve had two experiences here— First I came when they were busy and the hairstylist Andre squeezed me in for a bang trim which was nice. However, later I noticed he sectioned off way too much hair for the bangs, and they look very chunky and awkward. Styling them they just fall flat. I’ll need to go somewhere else and get them thinned out. Secondly, I came in for a manicure with Danielle. Sure you might expect a bit of discomfort getting a mani while they’re prepping your nails— but I’ve tried a dozen salons in NYC and none had ever made me bleed. When I pointed out that my cuticle was bleeding to the technician, she immediately denied it was bleeding and then when a bit of blood came off on her tissue she kept saying it was just a “pinprick” of blood. I don’t know about you, but when I book a manicure I’m not expecting to be cut and bleeding by the end of it. My cuticles weren’t overgrown— so not sure why the technician was so aggressive with the pliers. She also still wanted me to pay full price even after it was clear I was bleeding. The picture is after the technician attacked the finger with alcohol wipes so it’s hard to see but definitely bleeding.

Dani (I hope I've spelled it right) is my new go-to girl. She really took care of me!! I had on a horrible powder manicure from a crappy place down the street and it took time to remove it all. She did so with so much patience and was so gentle and careful with my nails. I got gel-x extensions and when I tell you I am obsessed with the nails - obsessed doesn't even cover it. She is a true artist and the only one I'll trust with my hands. 20 stars! The salon itself too is so clean and has a great, warm vibe. Love it.

I walked in on a Friday afternoon and the ladies were very welcoming. They were able to start my manicure without a wait. Sonia gave me one of the best manicures I’ve ever had! I got the structured gel. It’s so thin, it looks totally flush with my natural nail and you would never be able to tell there is two layers of gel and a structured layer to boot. The polish is shiny and I can tell it will be long-lasting. The Christmas decorations in the salon are so cute, too! Great experience.

I went in for a gel fill and a pedicures my technician did a lovely job and was very nice. It was shockingly expensive ! $250 ! The place I usually go charges $100 for the same service.

Really enjoy coming here, Yumi did a great job putting on GelX tips and then doing a fill several weeks later. It’s so relaxing in there, plus no one was judgmental about my very bitten-down nails. Highly recommend!

Sonia did a great job. It's been a bit, ...about three weeks since I've gotten my nails done by Sonia and my nails still look great!! No chipping of the gel manicure or pedicure done by Sonia. Much appreciated 👍will be stopping by again!

I came in for a nail removal(Thursday). I was convinced to get a new set. Literally 12 hours later my nail broke. I called 10am(Friday) and was said I can’t get it repaired until Tuesday because there’s no one who does extensions.

I found this salon through Pulsd, where they were offering a $29 gel manicure. However, when I mentioned the offer, they completely denied it, despite it being posted. Even after Pulsd re-confirmed that the offer was still valid, the salon offered me a 20% discount instead for being a new customer (which was also only mentioned because I inquired about the $29 manicure). It’s clear they don’t have a handle on their pricing or promotions.

I visited this established about a month ago and had Monica as my technician and had a lovely experience. However, I scheduled an appointment for yesterday and informed the staff that I would be using pulsd. The technician, Yumi, told me that she does not accept pulsd and that she would schedule me for the next day with a technician that does. Nowhere on pulsd during the booking process does it state that certain technicians do not accept the promotion; however, I went along with it. Today, I arrived at 5:54pm for my 6:00pm appointment with Sonia. I waited until 6:25pm for her to start while she finished with another client. Upon starting, she never apologized for running late. During the process, she was very rough and she did not even do an adequate job with the pedicure. I attached a picture of my heals post-pedicure). The whole process was rushed. And then after finishing the pedicure she took a break to go to the bathroom, which was baffling as she was already so behind. I informed her of the color I wanted which I wrote down from my previous visit and really liked. Upon finishing, she said it would be $15 for the gel removal. I informed her the gel was done here to go before and she stated that, “it is our policy to charge for every gel removal even if it is done here.” I am appalled that she would say that after making me wait for so long and running behind so much I had to cancel my plans for the evening and reschedule. Definitely not a good experience to say the least.

Sonia did a beautiful job doing my nail extensions yesterday ! She spent a lot of time prepping the nail, cleaning the cuticles and getting the shape just right. I also had an injured finger which she re-bandaged for me. Would definitely come back again!

Walked in and booked a slot for a gel manicure later that same day. Sonia did my nails flawlessly. She made sure I was comfortable with each step and went gentle on the cuticle push back per my request. I came in with a basic nail art design and she executed it to a T. The space is cute, clean, and relaxing. They played bops, too. Hand oils and lotions smelled so refreshing and felt great. They use MindBody for booking ahead, I don’t like how MindBody requires a new account for each sub service, but once set up it’s simple enough. Will be back!

I’ve walked by this cute salon a few times and decided to walk in for a lunchtime pedi. They greeted me with smiles and were able to fit me right in. Monica took care of my pedicure and I knew I was in good hands. She was so warm and sweet and answered all my questions. She was meticulous and thorough every step of the way. I am a very picky person when it comes to pedicures and I always have to fix their work when I get home. Not this time! Monica really took care of me and I couldn’t be happier! Definitely will be coming back again and again!

Shivangi is amazing. Her spirit, guidance and communication is what makes her unique. She gets to understand her clients and is always honest. I have been going to her for about 2 years. I was platinum blonde to now fading out brunette. 10/10 every time, and if you don’t feel that, she will make sure you will 💕

I did a balayage ombré at the salon with Shivangi and it turned out amazing, exactly what I wanted! The salon & staff here are very talented and give great advice too on cut/coloring in general. Loved my hair and would recommend to anyone, will be coming back! :)

I have my hair colored with Shivangi and let me tell you she has magic hands.. She knows how to give you the best color for you taking in to account season, complexion, if you are tan or not and based on where you are going.. super sweet.. very kind.. and I cannot recommend anyone better.. I hope to have Shivangi color my hair for years to come

I walked past this salon numerous time when trying to get from point A to B. A slow leisure walk led me to Mutha Pearl yesterday. It was early and empty. They just opened. It was a total surprise.! loved the artistic look —one of a kind and there was no “ assembly line”. I was taken in right away by Monika for a pedicure. she gave attention to detail and my feet looked great. I came back today for a manicure with the same person. Again, precision and detail. I can’t tell you how many times my nails would be filed sloppily that two days later, they will chip. Monika didn’t make me feel uncomfortable when she saw my nails. Didn’t make me feel embarrassed. They offer some spa services. I cannot say how thrilled I am to find a unicorn in the FIDI that stands out. Check it out.

They do an incredible job on nails and they last really long. The space is really clean and inviting. However, make sure you have a lot of time when you go because they’re always running behind. I’ve had my appointment time moved back without being contacted and then still had to wait 30 minutes before being seen.

First time, got a gel set and it was perfect and lasted weeks. 2nd time, the woman took off my nails with a drill bit which was way too rough for taking off gel nails, and my nails were weak, splitting, and my fingers were in pain for a long time after. Also, the actual set she put on top was messy, with air bubbles, and chipped quickly.

I couldn’t recommend Mutha Pearl more highly! Yumi and the team provided the most excellent mani/pedis for myself, fiancé and future MIL the day before my wedding. Their 1:1 attention and calming energy helped an anxious bride-to-be relax! Yumi was phenomenal- her meticulous attention to detail resulted in by far the most beautiful French gel manicure I’ve ever had in my life. I also visited the same spa a week earlier for a hydro facial and was blown away by the experience. Thank you for making me feel like a beautiful bride!!

I had my nails done by Monica and she was amazing! She was thorough and made sure my nails looked great and were what I wanted. The atmosphere inside is very aesthetic and nice. I would definitely recommend them!!

I never leave bad reviews but this is one for the books. I Went in after calling a good 10 times with no response. Once I got there they informed me of the $15 removal gel fee which is incredibly high- most places only charge $5. The manicurist was not pleasant and was super aggressive with my nails, which caused pain throughout the process. The worst part is after less than 1 day my gel manicure immediately started chipping which is also not normal. After several emails and calls I still have not heard back about how they plan to rectify the situation given a gel manicure should never start chipping less than 24 hours after the service.

I really wanted to like this place, when I went the first time everyone seemed very nice and they have a really cool space. I got a gel manicure with nail art on a few of the nails, and it was a little over $100 - bit on the expensive side, but I was pretty happy with them... at first. Usually when I get gel done, it lasts four weeks or more if I don't mind my nails growing out. Not even two weeks later, this gel started to crack and lift at the base. One nail was especially bad, and a few others were heading in the same direction. Because I'm used to gel lasting so much longer, I stopped in and asked if they would mind removing this gel and just doing a regular manicure without art to try and get them to last a little longer. Unfortunately, I was told they have a "3 day" return policy. For regular nail polish, sure. But for gel? You expect more given what they charge for it. Eventually they agreed to do this for me (after I was asked to make sure to tip again, which of course I would have done... but okay fine, I can see how some people might not). Then I sat down and the technician told me my nails were fine except for the one really bad one, and that it was my fault for "washing my hands too much". Um, okay? I tried to nicely point out there were several other cracks forming and in the next day or two I'd end up with the same problem if I didn't take care of it now, but she then proceeded to tell me with an attitude that I was "the first person ever to return and want their nails redone" as she began roughly sanding the gel off my nails. I've had gel removed tons of times before at other places and I can honestly say it has never, ever hurt... but in this case, I barely got through it. She actually burned one of my nail beds and the rest didn't fare much better. As soon as she was done, I gave her a tip (which she did not deserve at all, but I'm not a jerk) and left without getting the polish replaced - at that point, I couldn't stand sit in there for one more moment. So over $100 plus two rounds of tips later, I ended up going home, cutting my nails off because they were ruined, and sticking my hands in ice so my nail beds stop burning. It's a very weird and passive-aggressive tactic to agree to make something right with a customer, and then try and make them feel absolutely horrible - mentally and physically in this case - the whole time you're "fixing" the situation. A little kindness would have gone a long way; I would've been happy to assume the gel cracking was a one-off and still come back had they been nice and understanding about it, and I also would've given a nice tip to the second technician for doing me that kindness as well. But after the way I was treated, I definitely will not be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else either. (Edit: A few days later, if I so much as bend my nails, try and open a can, anything like that - I feel immediate burning pain. Cracks have formed in several of them nearly all the way at the base of the nail… I truly truly hope this technician is never allowed to do this to anyone ever again.)

Love this place! I had such a great experience. My nails came out great and my manicurist Yumi was super nice and accommodating. This place was definitely more expensive than others that I’ve been to previously. But they do a great job on the nail art!

They squeezed me in for a last min polish change. The salon is so cute and has great vibes! The tech (sadly I didn’t get her name) was so sweet and was more than happy to figure out how what I wanted to do on my nails (which is every girl’s struggle 😭) I will definitely be back next time I’m in NYC 🫶🏽
