Visiting Nadia Vassell Salon for a full sew-in weave was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Unexpectedly needing to purchase hair at the last minute could have been a hassle, but the salon's convenient on-site options and the team's offer to manage future hair purchases made the process seamless and stress-free. The installation exceeded my expectations, achieving an incredibly natural and lightweight look that truly showcased the team's expertise. Nadia herself is a wizard with scissors, providing a cut that perfectly complemented the style. The salon's atmosphere adds to the overall satisfaction, with its clean, well-lit space set right in the heart of SoHo. It's a gem for black hair care in an accessible location. Despite the lengthy process of getting a sew-in, the ambiance, complete with just the right music volume for privacy and focus, made the time fly by enjoyably. The warmth and friendliness of everyone, from the receptionist to Ariel, who skillfully did the sew-in, and of course, Nadia, made a five-hour appointment feel less like a commitment and more like a treat.

There is something very zen about this space. It’s like my anxiety exits my body and I am able to be at peace. Perhaps it’s a combination of the stillness anchored in lofi rnb music while being pampered. All I know is I will be BACK! ❤️

This was the nicest salon experience. I felt so spoiled and taken care of by my stylist, Ariel! I arrived on time and they were ready and expecting me. The Salon felt fresh, bright and clean. I went in for a silk press and left feeling Great about my hair. Ariel was gentle with my hair throughout the service and communicated with me through each step. I will surely revisit!

Nadia is a true artist. She’s so attentive to my specific needs— whether I’m getting ready for a special event or just having a self-care day. Also, I started using her products in-between visits and my blow drying time has significantly decreased. Her products make my hair so soft and they smell amazing!

this review is long overdue. my mom found nadia’s salon on facebook and raved about a consultation she attended. i decided i would give her a try. after cutting my locs in 2018, due to a traction alopecia diagnosis, i spent the past couple of years looking for a hair stylist that could provide great service - one that wasn’t too product-focused. my first appointment with nadia was in december. one thing that i really loved about nadia was that she was receptive of my allergies and did not try to force me to try anything that made me feel uncomfortable. the entire experience from beginning to end was amazing. also, the receptionist is super sweet. i haven’t felt this way about my hair since i’ve had my locs…i’ve gotten so many compliments on my silk press! so, happy to have found nadia! make an appointment…you won’t regret it!

Searched high and low for a hair extension maintenance salon to remove and replace my invisible hair weft. My hair is very fine and I have a sensitive scalp so I was worried about finding the right stylist who would understand Nadia really listened to my requests and concerns. This was fed the best salon experience I have ever had! Nadia was very professional and honest about my hair, time efficient, and wonderfully kind! She washed blowdried and trimmed my hair with great care and left me with one of her own oils to help with my thinning areas. I definitely recommend this salon for all textures and hair health levels. I can’t wait for my next booked appointment with her. If you are like me who are really uneasy when it comes to salons who understand black hair, Nadia is the one you should book with!

Started going to Nadia for relaxer touchups this past summer during the pandemic and so glad I did! Have since been back every few months - she's always prompt, leaves my hair looking great, and has been really helpful in advising how to manage it in between appointments. Plus the COVID restrictions are enforced (clean studio, sanitation products, masks on at all times, etc.) will keep coming back for sure!
