My experience at this salon/ spa was relaxing to say the least! I was greeted by the soothing scent of aroma therapy upon entering the salon. My masseuse, Amanda was amazing! Herbal tea was delicious! The whole experience was fantastic!

I thought I liked the Turkey Creek location of Natural Alternatives but after recent events, I do not recommend you go here unless you are prepared to always give them good reviews or none at all. if you give honest, constructive feedback which they don't like, they will take it personally and refuse to do your hair. I had been going to Molly for about a year as a regular customer (every six to eight weeks and I was probably one of the higher paying clients) and I thought she did a good job. She listened well to what I wanted done and delivered. It was expensive but I thought it was worthwhile as I wanted to use natural products and I thought she was pleasant. This all changed when I received requests from the salon for feedback. The first feedback I gave about one month ago was that one of the guys who worked at the reception desk was stand-offish and not very friendly and I felt increasingly more uncomfortable dealing with him. The second time I gave feedback I mentioned that I had requested Molly to put in red highlights in addition to the blonde highlights that I normally get but they did not turn out. Admittedly, I sprung this on her on a whim the day of my appointment as I wanted a change. She tried to give me the red highlights but no red was visible and she asked me to come back in a week if I still wanted them. I also mentioned to her and in my review that it was becoming increasingly difficult to book an appointment with her. I honestly thought that these reviews would be taken as constructive criticism but apparently she (and the salon) took offense to them. I was disappointed at not being treated as one of their better customers, both by the receptionist who was stand-offish and by the increasing difficulty in trying to get an appointment with Molly. I went back the next week but she told me that since I wrote a bad review about her messing up my hair she did not want to do my hair anymore and that I should go somewhere else. I told her that I gave an honest review and that if I liked the red highlights I would have given positive feedback. I'm sorry but If I get a request from the salon to submit feedback, I am going to be honest and it is not meant to diss them but to help them understand what they are doing right or not. I really did not expect this type of reaction from her and I have never experienced this before but I will go elsewhere now.

I have been coming to see Autey for a while and she always does such an amazing job on my hair! She is so incredibly talented and always makes sure that I am comfortable! I always look forward to coming to see her, I cannot recommend her enough!!!!! :)

I stumbled across this salon in the 90s and have been a loyal customer… so much so that when I moved to DC I would actually drive/fly here to visit friends and family for self love aka hair care and experience. I actually stopped coming because frankly they don’t give patrons of 30+ years the same promotions they give “new clients”. Hello … examine your business model do you think it’s better to have a one time customer vs one who books for 30 years… I know what kind of customer I want

I was notified that my original hair stylist wasn't available and needed to be rebooked with a different stylist which wasn't a problem. My appointment was booked for a Full Dimensional Color and haircut with Malleah who did an absolutely amazing job! She listened to what I wanted to do for the color and I was caught by surprise with how beautiful it turned out. It was exactly what I have been wanting and she exceeded my expectations. I have really very curly hair and she knew how to handle it. It's hard finding a stylist that can manage my hair and she was very confident in what she can do. I 100% will come back to her again and trust her with my hair. Thank you Malleah!

Beware of this salon! Something new they are doing since September 2023 The new policy by The owner for salon is asking for your credit card number to keep on file on a card system before your appointment. No Thank You! I do not do business like that. So cancelled my appointment with Jenny. It’s sad the owner of this salon doing this. It’s sad for their stylist. I do not give out a credit card number to be on a card system so that credit card information to go into the wrong hands of thieves. Shame on the owner.

I've been a customer of Natural Alternatives for well over a decade. Mahgen is amazing, and I"m so grateful to have found her! I've been seeing her for years, and she is a true artist and consummate professional. She is, by far, the best colorist I've ever encountered and of course also provides excellent cuts. I drive well out of my way to see Mahgen:) The only drawback of this location is the *incredibly* uncomfortable set-up in the sink/shampoo area, which, imo doesn't aesthetically align with the rest of the more upscale salon. I'm way too short for the sink-seating provided, and having back issues, I truly dread the forced discomfort I experience every time I'm here. Never had this issue elsewhere. (Dear Mahgen has tried everything to help make me more comfortable.) Really wish this location provided an equivalent set-up to their other locations for the comfort of their clients, or, at the very least, would adjust the lighting so that it doesn't shine directly into customer's eyes while getting a shampoo. I would consider going to another location solely for this reason (and have for cut a few tines), but Mahgen is worth the pain! I do wonder why NA hasn't invested in this specific area of the salon, especially since that I"m not the only one with such issues--I've had conversations with other customers about while there who had some of the same complaints. That's my only qualm here, and hopefully NA will eventually "upgrade" this area. (I did deduct one star simply because I can't even enjoy a shampoo due to discomfort.) I must also sing the praises of the employee (I've unfortunately forgotten her name) who does the scheduling via NA's master scheduling phone number. I always enjoy speaking to her, and she's always so kind and helpful--if I recall correctly, she was responsible for recommending Mahgen to me years ago, based on my description of the colorist I was seeking. Overall, great employees, excellent customer service w/ checking in-out,. Just terribly uncomfortable sink/shampoo area, which ideally, would be the best part of a service. Many thanks to Mahgen, and NA's awesome scheduler!

The salon itself is beautiful and modern but also not overwhelmingly huge and you feel really prioritized from the start. The front desk staff offered tea or water which was awesome! My stylist Autey is absolutely fantastic, she took her time planning my color, matching swatches, and even gave a price quote before to make sure everything would be good for me. My hair turned out better than I’ve ever had, it’s my absolute dream hair! Will be returning here to see Autey indefinitely. 10/10!!
