I really like this salon. They did my hair for my birthday last year and it was so beautiful. On Saturday January 25, 2025. I went in for a wash & go. It was schedule with Kim, but she had to leave due to not feeling well. ( i would have preferred a phone call to let me know that) So, Michelle was asked to do my hair. She halfway washed my hair. she only wash the top and the middle i had to tell her to wash the back of my hair. There were no soap build up on my hair. She just rub the shampoo together in her hands and apply it to my hair. Also, she did the same when it was time to conditioner my hair. And I just keep my mouth shut. Because she is supposed to be the professional. When it came time for her to pull my curls out. She pull my hair to where I had to hold my hair and I had to tell her she was pulling my hair. This was the worst experience every. Please give Michelle more training and how to properly do hair. Because this is not a good look.

Booked a consultation to talk through the new start of my hair journey and arrived with 2 minutes spare. (Adding this for context: Typically I arrive to appointments 15-30min early. When you’re early you’re on time and when you’re on time you’re late.) Despite being late, I was seen promptly and the stylist answered all of my questions. We spoke for over an hour because Ive been in protective styles all my life and had several questions about this transition. I love a Black-ran civic minded business so I look forward to returning. I loved the experience I had here! I had my silk press with a protein boost and a cut done by Kimberley and she did such a wonderful job. She was very thorough, checked in with me often during the process and told me about the products she was putting in my hair. I will definitely be going back!

I've Been Coming Here For 3-4 Months Now. I Always Have Great Conversations With The Stylists. They Help One Another Out And It Gives Teamwork Environment. 🙃😀 Whether I'm In A Talking Mood Or Not They're Very Respectful. They Give Great Recommendations For Your Hair. Shonte did an amazing job this review is in no way a reflection of her service. However I was quoted a service at 95$ the same service is also offered online at that exact price point. After some confusion in the beginning with pricing they agreed to honor that price. So I accepted the service based on that price. Once I completed the service I was then told that price is now $125 and should’ve been $175 so they were doing ME a favor. Does that sound like a favor to y’all? I’m not the type to leave bad reviews but that was completely bad for business and I will NEVER return. To think they could’ve compensated me and told me future reference this will be the price and I would’ve kept coming back. But please beware that they will manipulate you and give every reason in the book why the price is different. I didn’t have time to argue today, so I let them have it. Don’t be a victim. And it’s not the price it’s principal. So thanks Shonte for all you did, sorry you work in a place that has no good ethical standards.

I went to get my cut refreshed by Kim. I asked for a simple part cut into my hair and she completed ruined my hair! Gave me a part bigger than when Moses parted the Red Sea! I reached out for a refund and there was no response. Not to mention, she ruined my mom’s cut too. I would NEVER go here for a woman’s cut.

I am super happy about the service and care I received yesterday at Natural Tresses by my stylist Naomi. I decided to go natural and was very nervous about getting all my hair with relaxer remaining in it cut. But Naomi is so sweet and has such a kind spirit. She helped calm my nerves, explained what was going to happen prior to her starting and talked me through the process as she cut. She made sure I was informed with everything and that I was okay with everything she was doing. Once she finished cutting along with the shampoo/conditioning of my hair, she created amazing comb coils to complete my service. I have received so many compliments on my hair. Very thankful for Naomi and her knowledge and care. I will be returning to her for further upkeep. Thank You Naomi!!

This is my go-to salon! They go the extra mile to help you on your hair care journey! I explained I was heading to my graduation ceremony, and Kim pin curled my hair, so that the curls looked perfect when I walked across that stage! :)

I went to get my faux locs taken out as they said they were equipped to do so. However, after washing my hair once I got home, I noticed chunks of my hair coming out because it had been severely cut. I called and notified the salon and also sent them pictures. They told me that would not give me a refund or even a partial refund. The salon took no accountability and now I have to deal with choppy hair. They said I could come in for a protein treatment that I DO NOT WANT as I cannot trust their services.

They are leaders of the shampoo bowl. Anyone who’s favorite part of a service is shampoo can feel me on this. Omaya is the only person I’ve had services from so far this year and I’m am so satisfied with her treatment of my fragile coils and tender scalp.

If I could give a 0 star I would Naomi was my stylist This was the worst service I have ever been to My initial appointment was 11:45 AM didn't get sent to the back until 12 set in the washer for whole hour before anyone even touching my hair Naomi was my stylist very polite but very not professional got out of there at 2:45 PM one of the last ones to leave they don't care about anybody else's time at all I was even Five minutes early to my appointment Left out of there very very very unhappy with my hair I initially started my locks with a two strain twist which she didn't even do. Couldn't give me a style because they were closing in her words I should've had said something prior which I am a client not the hairstylist before even touching my hair. She should have asked me what was that in here to do how did I want my hair but she didn't care to ask she did what she pretty much wanted to do. I have never been dissatisfied in my entire life I asked if I can get it up into a basic style because of my hair it won't last . She tells me they are closing and it's too late for that Will not be returning!! I could have done this myself at home ! And I paid 85$ which they charge 3$ for cards Everything about it was Ridiculous!

I had Naomi braid back my hair and do a deep conditioner. She was super sweet and down-earth and most importantly, focused on the health of my hair first and foremost. Will definitely be back! 😁

Being nice with giving 2 stars because the lady that did my hair was nice. HOWEVER!!! Please be careful of this salon! I had a 9 am appointment for a slick ponytail. Their slick pony tail consist of Pump It Up Spritz. By the time I got home my hair was already coming undone. I sent a email to the owner expressing how I felt and ended up fixing my hair because it was coming undone after being told my hair would hold up until the wedding I am in on Saturday. This is the kicker. I paid $123 for a slick pony tail (hair was not included, I did buy my own hair). So I was charged $55.00 for a silk press ( all of my hair was not even flat ironed, only the perimeter of my hair) and I was charged $65.00 for the ponytail (that held for a few hours before my swoop started to fall, and the girl who did my hair kept one of my bundles that was not even used). A lady called me Wednesday to confirm my appointment and services, in which she changed my appointment from Wednesday night to Thursday morning to ensure my hair was fresh, etc. I asked if she would send me a updated invoice because I needed to understand why my bill went from $80 when I booked online to $123, and she said she couldn't but I would get a email of my appointment change. It was not until after I got my hair done to where I saw the breakdown. The girl that did my hair asked my friend who was there waiting on me if my hair looked good.... She never showed me the back of my hair. So the boss/ manager whoever called me today after seeing my email. First off she seemed she had an attitude why... I don't know and honestly don't care because I am unhappy with my hair that I just paid your salon $123 of my money to do and was given what was promised. Anyways... She proceeds to tell me I should of came back for them to fix it. I had just spend almost 3 hours in that salon. I had other appointments and things I needed to do. Then she said I should of came this morning... I have a entire FULL TIME JOB, I don't have time to take off to come get something fixed that should of been done correctly in the first place. So because I voiced how I felt and the irritation she offers me a CREDIT! I made it clear I was not returning. When you mess up my hair once I will not give you the chance to touch my hair again. And because she had an attitude made me definitely not want to come back knowing its a issue... Forget a credit you should be issuing a refund! But I know its not going to happen! So as I said before be aware and check everything out. If you going to get a pony wash your hair, straighten it, and mold it before you get there because if they do it they going to be charging you for 2 different hair styles and your hair will come undone within a matter of hours because all they use is a little bit of spritz!!!

Everyone I interacted with at the salon was polite and professional. I went for a consultation and the stylist answered my questions and offered good advice based on my needs. She was patient and well informed. Also, the consultation itself is set up well with a good variety of questions asked that would be great for someone who is new to a natural hair journey or looking to address some concerns. I look forward to getting my hair done at my next appointment!

Had box braids done yesterday by Nala and she was so wonderful!! She was gentle, took her time, and so sweet! Two other stylists ( I don’t want to butcher names) helped braid as well and they were also very kind. The environment is so welcoming and I look forward to returning.

I was visiting out of state and needed to get my hair washed and styled. I called Natural Tresses Hair Salon and was able to book an appointment within that same hour! When I arrived, Ms. Naomi did a fabulous job washing and styling my hair. Her braiding is not tight and she did excellent work on the two-stranded twists! Naomi is professional and personal. I will definitely go to this salon again if in the Raleigh area.

I went in for my first retwist and it was amazing. Shanaya was the beautiful soul who helped me and she was great. My hair feels clean, the parts are crisp and the retwist is a success. The salon was clean, the music was a vibe and the staff is very nice. I found my home 😊

I went to get crochet installed, but I had a terrible experience and I will not be returning. Naomi, my stylist, seemed nice, but the service and quality were poor. I arrived for my appointment about 7 minutes late, but Naomi didn't get me in the bowl until about 30 minutes after my arrival. Although she asked me if I had somewhere I needed to be, she didn't seem to consider my time. I brought my own shampoo, but she left me in the bowl with the wrong shampoo for a long time and then did the same thing with the correct shampoo. After that, she had someone help her blow dry my hair, which I assumed would speed up the process. But then, Naomi couldn't figure out how to braid my hair down, because I had "so much hair". With her braids for the crochet, she didn't even braid from the front back, leaving out more than just my baby hairs. So, I can't wear my hair in different styles, or it makes my hair look old, even though I got it done less than a week ago. I've been to other stylists, and they've never had an issue with the length of my hair, and I've never had so much hair left out of the initial braids. She even asked me if I had another hairstyle in mind, which was extremely unprofessional as I scheduled crochet, and if she didn't know how to do it, it shouldn't have been listed on the website. The salon owner told me I would need about 6 packs of hair, I brought 5, but Naomi ended up using 9 packs. I was there for over 5 hours, with two people working on my hair for the majority of the time. It had messed up my plans for the day as I was only meant to be there no later than 6, but I was getting in my car closer to 7:30. Naomi apologized plenty, but that doesn't excuse all the things that went wrong and the unprofessionalism displayed during my first visit. She gave me a coupon for a free treatment, but it doesn't make up for all the time I wasted there. I received very unprofessional service, and they didn't include some of the hidden fees. I had scheduled an appointment for a loose hair crochet, and was told that there would be an extra fee if the hair wasn't pre-looped. I have never seen pre-looped curly crochet hair before in my life. I was informed of this additional fee a few hours before my appointment. They called me two days before my appointment and when I called back, the number didn't work. It went straight to voicemail where the mailbox was full, so I couldn't speak to anyone. Less than an hour before my appointment, Naomi called me and asked if I could come an hour later, but I couldn't. Despite this, she still started over 30 minutes late, which shows that my time wasn't taken into consideration, nor was the time I had scheduled for the appointment. She also informed me that I may be charged extra because of the length of my hair, which is unprofessional since she told me after I had arrived for the appointment and while she was washing my hair. If I didn't have an important event the next day, where I needed my hair done, I would have left.

Long review, please be patient with me! I had a service done in mid-December, and while the hairstyle looked nice for the holiday season, the entire experience was lackluster. There were a lot of nickel and dime charges - $125 for crochet install (no hair provided) and $20 hair cut should have covered everything, but I was charged an extra $8 to line up my edges, plus a $3.50 credit card processing fee when there isn't an alternative to pay cash. The day before I had paid a $10 consultation fee with $3.50 card fee added on. So many fees! I arrived early for my appointment, but the stylist was still working on someone else WAY after my appointment time. Another person cut my hair, yet another stylist shampooed (and left me at the bowl for a long time afterward, which hurt my neck), and then another stylist assisted with installing the crochet. My time at the salon was several hours longer than I anticipated. I tipped very generously because I liked the way the hairstyle turned out in the end, plus it was near Christmas, but I will not be returning to this salon. My hairstyle did not last as long as I had hoped and I lost several crochet locs even though I was careful in how I handled my hairstyle. The take down left my scalp feeling tender, even though I was gentle in removing all of the thread and extra braiding hair. My overall style is very minimalist and this salon is too expensive with the extra charges, plus the vibe was more of a place for students, not for anyone over 40 trying to establish a haircare relationship with a stylist over time.

Loved every bit of it. I got the Smoothie Silk Press Treatment. It’s been over 10yrs since I went natural and 8yrs since I had it professionally done. My hair is damaged BAD so I’ll definitely be back to continue this healthy hair journey!
