I’ve been going to Neihule for over 2 years now and this is the only place I get my pedicures now. I love how they are so affordable. I have always had a great experience. The only con, is how long the service takes. Granted, there are students doing the services so I give them grace. I always go with my laptop, a good book, or something to work on, and usually the time goes by way quicker. The students are always super sweet. There’s always a teacher there supervising the work. I highly recommend.

I was a student at Neihule and I decided to enter the nail program in the evening. While I was in school, I got hired at another job and it took me an hour to get through traffic to get to school every week day. They give you a 30 min grace period, however Unfortunately with traffic I was arriving 10-15 minutes after the grace period. I spoke to the school administrator about it and really wanted to continue the program, however they said it was the policy and preferred that I withdraw from the program than to work with my schedule. I was completing all of my work on time and scoring high on all of the testing, therefore I was disappointed that they wouldn’t work with my schedule. In the end I had to withdraw and find another school. They sent me a withdrawal invoice in which they overcharged me for the nail kit that they gave me when I entered the program. The nail kit is filled with a lot of wholesale cheap products that we can all purchase at the Dollar store. The only items that cost anything were the acrylic and gel powders. The students have to purchase their own nail drill, and nail design brushes, etc. Overall the kit was not worth $1,000. I want to end my review by saying that the instructors are amazing and this review is not directed towards them. My frustration is mostly with the school and their inconsideration for working students who are trying their best to make ends meet and go back to school at the same time.

I absolutely love coming here in particular for the facials and nail services. You can’t beat the prize and the students are always very friendly. Don’t forget to bring cash to tip them. They do a great job and it’s a great price regardless especially in a living in Los Angeles.

Yesterday, I spoke to one lady on the phone about coming in today for a mani pedi. She told me I could walk in and was very friendly. Today, when I showed up, after driving 2 hours and paying $10 to park a few blocks away, a different lady at the front door turned me away and said that no walk ins are allowed while she is working. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Absolutely 💯 perfect service. Go here for your beauty needs. It was an alla round wonderful experience. Make sure you are dry before you leave I did not and ended up messing up one of my toes. That's a good argument for getting the gel mani. 👌 The students are professional and very thorough. We are regulars now. Made our next appointment before we left.

I was in school from 9/7/21-1/15/22 for nails. I just passed my boards and received my license today. Cee Cee is a very good teacher and will help ensure you pass (if you listen to her). The school is beautiful and the facilities are exactly what you need. Cee Cee is one of the most caring teachers I’ve ever worked with and pushes when you need to be pushed. We had some neat demos from former students which was really nice to see. The students however….not so much. Some of the students were extremely disrespectful to the teachers and other classmates. I’m honestly surprised and wonder why they were allowed to continue to come to school. We also had students that were stealing materials, polishes and other peoples AirPods. My advice is that you don’t bring anything to school you don’t want stolen. It’s surprising since this school was pretty expensive ($5k+) you would think everyone would want to be here and get the most out of this education. Since this was Covid times I don’t think we were able to get as many demos as we were hoping for which was disappointing. I also wished we had more demos with non-acrylic enhancements. I know the school is working on getting additional demos and is open to suggestions. I get the sense that they do care about our experience besides just helping us pass but also making us more marketable to future employers/ helping expand our experience. The main reason I went to this school was for Cee Cee. I was referred by another student because of her. She is a character but knows her stuff. She made school fun and was full of practical advice. One other piece of advice…. Check the commute at the time you will need to be in class. Coming from the Westside it took me over an hour in the car getting to school each day. If you are working and doing nights it could be a major problem.

I came to get a gel pedicure and I noticed that ALL of there nail polishes are dried out! Thank goodness my nail tech had brought her own nail polishes because I looked at over 50 shades of gel polishes even regular and they ALL were contaminated with dust particles, dried up, and no bristles on the brush!! I added a photo. Please update all of your polishes and give your students the materials necessary in order to perform a decent service on us paying customers. However my pedicure experience was great.

Overall, I had a very productive and positive experience at the school. But let’s break it down the good, the bad, and the ugly: The good: obviously, you have to consider the price. Anywhere that you can get a $35 full cut/style for a woman with long hair is kind of astonishing. For a beauty school, $35 is expensive, but this is the only school in the area that uses luxury products. Rather than drugstore brands, you’re getting Kevin Murphy, Oribe, Keratase, and other high-end products. Additionally, all of the instructors seem very involved, and very experienced, and the students seem to feel very empowered to ask for help if they need it. My stylist consulted with an instructor and they both took five minutes to speak with me to really make sure that I wasn’t allergic to any of the shampoo choices ( I have some allergies). I even saw one of the founders and owners of the flagship salon helping out students and working on clients there at the school! The particular student who did my hair listened exactly to what I said, and did exactly what I wanted. I got an excellent haircut that I am extremely happy with. Pics to follow. The Bad: really, the only problems with the school are the fact that it’s a school. You should know what you’re getting into with prices that low and the fact the liability waiver is required before you receive your service. I didn’t actually have any negative issues that way, but I read some of the other reviews before going to the school, and they all seem to be “I didn’t realize I was going to a school”. The students may take extra long because they don’t know exactly what they’re doing. If you ask for something really complicated or using cutting edge techniques, they may be unfamiliar with it and do a subpar job. If you’re very vague about what you want, they don’t have the massive decades of experience to interpret vague client statements. This isn’t the place to go if you were really looking for the equivalent of that $160+ haircut that you would get it your typical LA salon. Expect student service, albeit truly excellent student service, but again, you’re going to a school. Sidenote – the stylist who did me did not give a very good scalp massage while shampooing, but by God, did she make sure that I got the entire five minutes promised in the service description! It was super cute and adorable. The ugly: my only real complaint, the only issue with the school outside of it, ya know, just being a school, caveat emptor, is that the entire place reeked of chemicals. They have a real ventilation issue, and by the time I left, I had a bit of a headache. That has nothing to do with my haircut. I’m extremely happy with my haircut, and I saw several other people getting mail and coloring services. They looked super great. But the odor of bleach and hair dye and nail polish remover was really really strong. Overall, I would recommend this for any budget, conscious person in need of a haircut, or if all you need is a simple trim or blunt cut.

By far the most unprofessional, unorganized, and poor quality of a school. They will scam you by telling you everything you want to hear to get you to enroll into their school but as a student attending there, they do not hold their word on what they actually have to offer. I believe there are way better schools out there for lower the cost and yet worth your money. There is more cons than pros to this school and people should be aware of the whole truth about what it is they really have to offer and teach. I would not recommend going here they have failed me as a student but most of all disrespected me as a person...

my whole experience here was bad. owners are money hungry first off. this school is not fair in any way, I am speaking on the nail program. They have 3 teachers and only 1 out of the 3 has put her effort for my education, one of the teachers (ms.ceci) has only showed up once or twice for a nail art design the review below is very accurate in ever point said i just want to add this , this course was def not worth 5k we got cheap supplies in total of “$1000” when that is not what it’s worth new students are getting full quality items compared to us, new students have had more demos then what we had . If you speak up they don’t acknowledge you. If you have another school in mind pls choose that school not Neihule this is a scam not worth the money, this school is false advertisement. Don’t do what I did don’t spend your 5k here

I’m studying here to become a licensed esthetician. The experience has been awesome! My instructor is so amazing with her techniques and new ideas. On top of all that the owner and his wife are king and queen of the beauty academy. My daughter has opened up a new fresh shop in Los Angeles and I want to facials for the customers.

I usually don’t write reviews. I try to be understanding when I don’t receive the best customer service or when employees are going through a tough time. We are all human and it’s understandable to not be your 100% self all the time. However, the customer service I received after I simply reached out to the technician to have my brows fixed after it not coming out how it was supposed to even after the correct cleaning was very unprofessional. I traveled all the way from the Inland Empire to get the best quality and instead I received poor quality and I might even get charged again for something that should have been done right the first time. Ladies, please remember that micro blading is a permanent process and even if the service is expensive it might not always be the best. Make sure to do research first and take photos of the entire process or you will be charged as well. I’m so disappointed and embarrassed of how I look. It’s not like I can erase my brows all over again. I hope this helps someone.

Decided to pamper my wife and found this gem through an online search. The staff was very professional and the owner Atouzo treated us like long time friends. The atmosphere is beautiful and my wife was very happy with what she got done (hair and nails).

I'm very particular about how my hair is cut and it's very hard to find a stylist who knows exactly what and how you want. I did a search for a salon in the downtown area and Neihule Salon + Academy was the one of the top results. The staff was very professional and friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful! I was very happy with my result. I think I may have found my new spot.

I’ve been going to Neihule since they opened their first location in DTLA. I love going there. It’s always bright and clean and everyone’s so welcoming. I always get a great professional haircut. They’re the best!!!

Love the Neihule's! Atouzo and Yvonne are without a doubt the best hairstylists in LA! I've been going to them for 10 years and have always left super happy. They are detail oriented, never rush, and are consistently great......which is hard to find in LA. I highly recommend them!

Noticed the Neihule’s opened up another salon, I was in the area so I decided to stop in. Super cute place, not to mention super clean & neat. I decided to treat myself to a blow dry, Mani & Pedi. I love the creativity of the owners on how they decorate! Yvonne the owner was in the building, she gives the best head massage while shampooing! To my surprise, she was available! Made my weekend even better! Will definitely be back.

This place is perfect! Got my hair and nails done in one visit, all while sipping on champagne. Staff was friendly, professional and décor is just so cute. When I seen it on yelp I just had to try it out for myself. So glad I did. Love my hair and nails. Will definitely be back.

What an incredible place! It is super modern and incredibly clean. I stopped in for a haircut and they did an amazing job. I have extremely difficult hair to cut and I often get bad cuts. This was not the case here. They did an amazing job! Everyone from the receptionist to the guy that cut my hair were extremely nice. I would highly suggest it. *On a side note. My wife had her nails done at the same time and absolutely loved it as well. She said the quality is the best she has had in downtown LA.
