I wish I could give 10 stars! Nellys hair salon is my favorite place to be ! All the staff are very welcoming and attentive, as well as very professional! I love that you can make an appointment ahead of time online but there has also been a few times I have just showed up and needed to have my hair done ASAP and they have always made it work for me! Nelly is very talented and always listens to what I want even when I want the impossible she makes my idea into reality. Love love love ! Thank you so much Nelly.

I’ve made the mistake of going to other places for blonde balayage and my hair had more brown than blonde. The first photo is what I received by hair salons that was not Nelly’s Hair and beauty. The second photo is the hair I received by Nelly. I’ve been going to Nelly’s for two years.I take my siblings there too because it’s very hard to find a talented hairstylist.The third picture is my sister’s hair that Nelly’s hair and beauty salon did as well.

Love this place! Everyone is super respectful and loving. The owner is amazing and makes you feel at home when you’re there. The best place I have been in New Jersey. I’ve gotten tape in extensions with nellys and they are to die for!! You will for sure look and feel amazing after coming out of this salon! The other ladies that work there are really nice as well

I asked for wavy extensions but it is clear now that I am home and washed my hair that she gave me curly which is hard for me to work with because I always wear my hair straight. We spoke about a face frame highlight and making my hair ashier. When she started putting the extensions in.. I asked her when she would do that and she said she forgot and she would do it next time because it was too late. Hair only blends when curled.

I have been going to nelly for about 3 years now and my hair has grown soooo much . I follow her advice on when to upkeep and remove and reinstall my tapes and I am soooo happy with my hair. She takes her time and is so professional. She makes sure you leave happy and beautiful. I will never stop going to Nelly .

First off I want to start by saying Nelly has a beautiful heart! She smiles the whole entire time doing your hair! She knows exactly what she’s doing and is so professional. Hi everyone. First of all, any negative review on here has to be fake. I am writing this review after coming here to get tape in extensions and I have had them for 1 month and also 2-3 blow outs, so it’s an honest review. The quality of the hair is really good. I was really nervous because you don’t know the quality until you wear and use it, I have even swam in pools, and regardless the hair stays in amazing condition with basic care, like brushing it out and washing it. Next, Nelly is such an amazing person and she is one of the most professional hair stylists I have ever met and she is skilled on top of that. She has many years of experience and is easily able to make any vision come to life easily, she always listens to what you want and makes it 10x better! I am a very picky person when it comes to my beauty and I am so happy that Nelly is consistent with my hair styles quality and she is always professional and a nice person as well. I highly recommend this hair salon. Thank you !

My name is Crystal. She did an amazing job. She brought my head back to life. I went from Red to Blonde 😘 and she did an amazing job. My hair didn’t break. I didn’t lose no hair. Nelly has great personality. Great conversation she’s amazing and I’m glad I found her and I can’t wait to keep on going to her salon. You ladies won’t regret it stop listening to the fake reviews . The fake liars will always make up lies. She is the best. She’s definitely not racist because I seen black women in there and she treats everybody the same Nelly dates a black man why would she be racist that doesn’t make any sense she’s not a racist. She’s a wonderful woman with great Vibes and she is definitely worth seeing you will not regret it. I never heard of a person being racist, but they’re dating that race doesn’t make any sense anyways Nelly is the best. I love her and I will be back to her all the time.

I was looking for a place near by , don’t want to travel all the way to Brooklyn to get a wash and set. I had been a few years ago and decided to give it a try and I was very pleased . There was no wait and I was done within 1/12. Very polite and please is very clean . I will be going back and will be referring Nelly’s to my family and friends .

I went to this salon not too long ago. It was my first time as my usual salon was booked. I found this place through Google, thinking it was relatively decent based on reviews. I just needed a simple wash, cut, and style. I needed this cut by tomorrow, so I booked an appointment with Nelly. I first arrived at the salon and from my perspective, three women at working; one who washes hair, another who cuts, and one who drys hair. Nelly told me to sit down to wash my hair, which I did. I assumed the lady washing my hair did not speak any English. She did not greet me. Plus, she was busy conversing with two other people in the salon—in Spanish. She washed my hair, aggressively, to the point where it started to becoming irritating; will bring this up later * I could not properly communicate with her, so I did not bother. Usually, I am afraid to speak up, but I knew I should have in this case. Regardless, I was finished and I sat down to get my hair cut by Nelly. I showed her examples of what I wanted, then she cut it for me—I didn’t see any issues then. Next, I sat down in another chair to get my hair dried. First off, the hair dryer seems fairly old, so I was skeptical about that. Second, whilst drying my hair to achieve a blowout look, my hair gets stuck in the dryer. The lady drying my hair tries to pull my hair out without me even knowing; didn’t even tell me what happened, was unaware. Nelly comes over telling her not to pull my hair out and takes her time to properly remove my hair out with minimum damage. They finish drying my hair and Nelly comes over to do touch-ups; cutting, drying, etc. I started to notice a weird smell, specifically surrounding me. I didn’t think anything of it. I noticed that even Nelly smelled it, and smelled my hair as well. I thought they knew what they were doing, but I was wrong. She put an oil in my hair, then asked if I was happy with my service. I agreed because everything APPEARED fine, but it was NOT. The next few days I’ve dealt with pain because of how aggressively my hair was washed, as if it was bruised. It wouldn’t stop hurting even with medication, ice, etc. Second, I did not realize this at the salon because I’ve gotten a blowout/hair was wet during the cut, but my hair was uneven ( specifically my curtain bangs ). Third, my hair was burnt. It smelled burnt right after I took a shower, very strong smell. I have never gotten my hair burnt/damaged before and I was extremely in distress. I had to do multiple treatments to get the burnt smell out of my hair which should’ve never happened in the first place. If you’re handing someone’s hair, you handle with care. At this moment, I know Nelly smelled the burnt hair at the salon, but she didn’t even make me aware of this while I was there. Maybe she didn’t know, maybe she did. Either way, I was upset. Of course, I tried to call and converse with Nelly, but whoever was answering the phones did not speak fluent English and kept telling me Nelly wasn’t there whenever I would call back; as they told me to do. I know Nelly is licensed as a hair stylist, but I am unsure of the other two women. I am not one to make assumptions to downside peoples business, but they appear like assistances to Nelly’s business; not licensed. Also, they work on multiple people at once. If that’s their method, then okay. I’ve never experienced that before. It feels like we’re being rushed when they go from one person to another. Shouldn’t a stylist stick to one person who is calling for services? Overall, I may have seemed happy with my services at the salon, but I did not think anything of what occurred at that moment. As said before, It was my first time. In the end, I was displeased with the service provided for me. This review is not meant to be taken to heart, but it’s my experience, my perspective, and how I feel about it. Thank you! Nelly was nice, and treated me well. I’ll give her that. Once again, am not hating on this business. They seem to have good reviews from a plethora of people. I’m just an individual who had a bad experience, that’s all.

Nelly is very unprofessional. I am all about supporting local businesses onto of a woman owned buisness. Each time I went to get my hair done the prices would be inconsistent with the hair service. I pointed the concern out to her and she explained that she was giving me a deal because she thought I was a nice person and now feel I am now, just because of my concerns with the prices being inconsistent. She then told me to go to another salon- she seemed to be frustrated and maybe taking it out me. I hope her loyal clients are enough to upstanding her basic business, her attitude doesn't look like a progressive successful buisness based on her attitude. Clearly based on the negative reviews she's a small buisness owner that lashes out based on her emotions. Not cool!

This was not a very good service. Nelly ,she was very nice and she did not have a bad attitude. First, When she washed my hair she put to much bleach all around my hair then when she started washing it my hair fell out. Then, she had to cut half of ,y hair becuase one side was longer than the other. So, the middle of my hair was left bald. It smelt burned when I got home. Also, the moment I saw my hair It gave me depression, I took me one year ½ to get my hair to normalize. I RECOMMEND NOT GOING THERE.

I put a one star review, however this Beauty Salon doesn't deserve any stars at all. I requested to blow dry my hair, the person who's took care of me wasn't a skilled professional technician that when I realized this was the case I didn't allow her to continue to perform blow dry my hair. And what I could witness during my visit, the Owner burned a portion of a clients hair. Another curious thing the Owner's father was assisting helping the owner organizing the new hair to be install to a client. This beauty is not only the worst in the city of Hackensack but is the worst in New Jersey State. This beauty doesn't have skilled and professional personnel to perform any type of beauty work. With all my honest sincerity, I don't recommend this beauty to no one.
