Neutre is a very pleasant place to be. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere. The stylists are the best. They are professional and skilled. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Stylist ignored instruction to keep hair at armpit length and instead went several inches shorter than that resulting in a cleopatra bob t- my most dedetested style. It is incredable to me that simple instructions are ignored. I also ended up with tri colored hair - grey, auburn and dark hair. For this kind of amateur color job I paid $200 +. Now I will have to pay more money to fix this. I didn't even get the greys at my temples covered, which I specifically pointed out needed special attention. Very disappointed and angry

Amanda was superb, new to the Salon, I was never concerned, she's been there from the gitgo! Top 3 haircuts I've ever had, so pleased to have found her and Neutre Salon was easy to park and get to, nice reception and clean workspace, everything you'd want in a salon! Awesome Aveda products and they do not push them on you, it was the result of a thoughtful discussion, imagine that! My compliments to Amanda as my hair is in great shape and I am confident on all those Zoom calls we all do!!

Called today and was told that there are no African American stylists and that the owner who is black cannot do my hair bc she had a bad shoulder. I have never been so offended in my life when all I wanted was color no blow out. So if you are black or have curly hair do not go to this salon. Called back to speak to the owner and could not get thru the message was the same and it allegedly came directory from the black owner who had no problem turning African Americans away from her shop! Save yourself some time and don’t go there only to my subjected to prejudice w pride from the white stylists who have no clue why you are offended! So we cannot support black owned business because not all of them support doing black hair or ethic hair to say the least. Is this 2022 or 1930 here in Frederick MD, the second largest city in Maryland. And to think I gave them big money twice off when they actually had a real black stylist so it’s offf to DC to locate an acceptable Aveda salon that accepts black clients! Do not waste your time here they will reject doing your hair and don’t care about how they do it!

I have been going to this salon for cuts and color since the day it opened. I travel from Baltimore because they provide superior customer service and I am constantly getting compliments on the work they do. I will never go anywhere else.

I saw this salon mentioned several times as “highly recommended” in a FaceBook post so I checked into it. Turns out, it’s in walking distance from my office so I made an appointment. Amanda is great to chat with. She listened and knew exactly what to do with my hair to refresh and enhance my natural curl. The salon itself is very nice… I’m hooked!!

My mom and I are previous clients of this salon. We have both received color treatments from Tanisha, a very professional stylist who is no longer working there. When my mom called recently to schedule another color appointment with the owner/stylist, she was told "the owner does not do African American hair because she has a bad shoulder." African American hair texture has many different levels of porosity, density, length, etc. and can be the same texture as the hair of women from other ethnic backgrounds, none of which was taken into account when denying her request for an appointment. The owner's response to my mother's request was a very rude generalization of African American hair texture. I'm not sure if there are any other stylists in this salon who are willing to do African American hair because my mother was not given that option when she called. Do not attempt to book an appointment here if you are African American, we don't to hurt anyone's shoulder.

I had a great 1st experience at the salon yesterday with Rachel! COVID 19 safety protocols are in place, all the staff are friendly and professional, and the prices are affordable for such high-quality Aveda products and services. I love supporting small local businesses and especially Black-owned ones! Highly recommend.

I have been a client at Neutre since they opened so many years ago. The team there is "top notch". Very consistent with most of the same team since the opening. They all are always professional but yet they treat you like one of the family. Very accommodating to your every need and request. They provide excellent customer service in a very clean and relaxing atmosphere. You the client are the priority they keep the appointments on time and your time there never feels rushed. They work as a team and all assist one another whenever needed. A few times over the years I needed to change my appointment and if Adeline could not take me at a time I needed , then one of the other stylists are ready to assist . I trust any of them can meet my needs and provide a professional and spa like experience each and every time. Love the Aveda philosophy and products. Thanks for all that you do ladies, you are #1.
