Not a great place for a relaxing experience... My husband got me a 90 min massage gift certificate for Christmas, which I was so excited to use! Checked in with the front desk (on time) but the masseuse seemed irritated, wasn't friendly, showed me into the room and left without instructions.. She also started late, about 10 mins went into her going back and forth to talk with the front desk lady. The room was chilly cold, and had a weird smell, almost like a bathroom, it wasn't pleasant. And most certainly distracted me from fully relaxing. The massage was okay, at best. Never asked what areas I wanted/ didn't want worked on. The masseuse slathered my face in an excessive amount of lotion, and did weird rubs inbetween my toes- both did not feel good. She rushed through the massage, and even though she started late, she ended at the 90 min mark on time, which shorted me about 10 mins.. After we finished I put on my clothes, and she walked me straight to the door. Didn't even offer me water, or a single drink during the entire experience. I still tipped her $20 but it felt slightly undeserved. Didn't have the heart to tell my husband I didn't enjoy the experience, but if he were to buy another massage for me in the future, I would definitely recommend elsewhere.

It’s a very basic (read: efficient) setup, but they do a great job for a good price. Scheduling is easy, their hours are great, and I’ve always had a good experience.

Awesome place! Was in town and wanted to get a massage for both my partner and I. We opted for the couples massage and left feeling super refreshed. The next time we’re back, we’ll definitely go here!

I had the worst massage of my life here yesterday. Cece had no coordination or sense of when to stop working an area- it was a very unconscious massage. She mechanically went through a routine that involved serial overworking of each tiny area she touched. I would have been better off not having a massage at all. I went with a friend who had a male masseuse, and she felt like she had received a good massage. I have noticed (at all the Happy Day Spas in town) that the men tend to be better than the women, and that some of the women are downright terrible at massage. Tips are expected, even for bad massages. Find a real masseuse in town, there are many good CMTs.

I had a massage on Monday, and it became apparent to me that the masseuse was very ill. I could hear her sniffling the entire massage which wasn't a big deal, but then after I flipped over for the end of the massage, she started having a coughing fit. She had the leave the room multiple times to cough and then returned to the room and I could feel her breath on my face. It was really hard to enjoy the rest of the massage. Today I woke up VERY SICK. I have empathy for the fact that some people have to still work when they are sick, but I would really encourage the management to find something else for their staff to do when sick.

This is my massage “Go To” Place! I go at least once a month and sometimes twice a month. All the therapist are well trained but you will probably find your favorite after a few visits. Great location in East Sac and good street parking as well as parking in the back of the building. Be sure and tell the front receptionist any special instructions because some of the therapist are not completely fluent in English. Super clean and such nice people. I joined the massage club which has even better pricing.

I’ve been a few times and seen a few different masseuses. The staff have all been friendly, and none of the masseuses have disappointed yet. I had a great massage with Tony today. He found knots and crinkles I didn’t know I had and would definitely recommend him if you’re needing a reset.

Massage was good but the pricing is a scam. The price list says 45, but only after the massage do they tell you it is 60, unless you pay a 75 fee to have a membership. Super sneaky and not a good deal.

Thank you Jenny for a great massage. I can finally look over my shoulders. I had the worst shoulder knots/pain for about 3 days. I walked in on a Sunday morning (best time by the way to go bc it’s free parking on Jst) and was immediately seen. I only expected upper body massage but surprisingly full body plus head massage was all done in 60 mins. Jenny is sweet and professional, and I didn’t catch the receptionist’s name but she was also very pleasant to speak with. I will definitely be coming back. 4.5 stars bc of parking. It’s not easily accessible but otherwise 5 stars

I usually don’t expect much from run of the mill massage parlors, HOWEVER, TOMMY WAS THE BEST! Typically I stray away from a massage with a man, but he was strong, symmetrical and had a great technique. I would recommend Tommy any time! Make sure you tip him well. We paid $65 for an hour and additional tip.

Left a $10 tip despite a horrible experience being massaged, the lady at the counter tried to argue with me into leaving a bigger tip! She tried to haggle and force me to leave a $15 or $20 tip, that's ridiculous-tips are optional! Based on just the service I wouldn't come back personally but would tell friends to still try it, and after being coerced into leaving a tip I wouldn't give them a second chance! 0 stars!

Where can you get a 1.5 hour massage for under $90.00? I love this local jewel. It's clean and located on J St. The staff is so nice and because I'm a returning customer I'm treated like royalty. I always ask for Bill, he mixes deep tissue with shiatsu. You can tell them what you want in front and she will relay to the masseuse. Tip generously.

I googled best massage in Natomas and "New Happy Day Spa" appeared. I am so grateful that I had a massage today! My sciatica, lower back pain, neck pain and plantar fasciitis pain were significantly to fully reduced and I am able to walk without pain. I really loved the heated massage beds/tables. I also liked how the masseuse wore gloves when he massaged the lower legs and feet because it's a smoother feeling massage to me that I observed. I was solo, but noticed they also have rooms for romantic couples massages. My professional masseuse was Jack. Immediately after my massage, I called my husband to get a 90-minute massage with Jack. He sure did! Next time, I will get the 90-minute massage with Jack! The facilities are very clean. The fragrances are very subtle, which I appreciate because I have a sensitivity to fragrances. Also, the administrative team members are very polite and work diligently to accommodate your schedule and ensure the "problem areas to massage" that you communicate to the admin team at the front desk are clearly communicated to the masseuse and are the focal points for your experience. I highly recommend "New Happy Day Spa" across the street from California Family Fitness to your families! Thanks Jack, I feel so much better!!

I had the BEST massage here. I get a massage at least once a quarter. I’ve just moved to the area and tried this place out, I already purchased a second massage. The masseuse was attentive and applied just the right pressure for it to be effective yet relaxing. Highly recommend!

I walked in and confirmed the price for a foot massage at 42$. After the massage I was told I had to meet a minimum tip fee of an additional 10$, which would have been fine if my massage deserved that. The lady who gave me the massage was very lazy towards the end and really wasn’t doing anything. When she was done all she said was “finished” and walked out. I’ve been to other locations of happy day spa and it’s been much better, but this one on J was very disappointing. The parking was also terrible, no spots left when I went at 3pm on a Wednesday.

Pros: friendly staff, clean facilities, comfortable table. Cons: parking, room environment, massage itself For my 50th birthday I decided to start off with a 1 1/2 hour massage. I explained to my therapist that I had upper and lower back injury and chronic foot pain and would like attention to these areas. There was no ambience in the room (ie running water/water sounds, therapeutic sent’s like eucalyptus chamomile, lavender, and warmth). The person who gave me my massage, literally pressed on me with the palms of her hands and rubbed me with her elbow for about an hour and 10 minutes total. There was no actual massaging or “kneading” of the muscles or releasing of any type of tension. At the end of my massage I did not feel relaxed at all. It was very cold in the room and the oil and lotion that were used had absolutely no fragrance or natural sent, no nothing. I would not recommend. Very disappointed.

They didn’t really use a salt scrub! It was a dove scrub, but other then that the ambiance was good and the massage was nice!

Very disappointing. I had hoped this place would be a cut above the run-of-the-mill cheap massage places, but the staff are rude and inattentive, and the massage itself was very mediocre. They also complained when I asked for change; I wasn't about to leave a $17 tip for such a sub par experience. Go elsewhere.
