Absolutely best hair cut I have ever had! My curls are bouncy and happy. Jillian is so incredible about cutting my curls in a way that actually makes sense to my specific curl patterns. If you have curls, trust me and go here.

Jillian supposedly gave me a devacurl dry curly cut. Not only did she not use the devacurl method of cutting curls individually, but she made the layers too long on top and too short on the bottom so I ended up with triangle-head. The back at the bottom was stringy and looks terrible. After reading all the reviews that she does nothing to offer credits or recuts, and the fact that she never answers the phone or returns any messages, I went to a true Devacurl stylist at Jennifer on Mane. She did a great job fixing this butchered haircut by New Moon. My layers are even, the cut was done per true devacurl method, and my hair looks fantastic.

Did not provide the quality of service as promised. After admitting to her mistakes, did not agree to issue even a partial refund. On top of the quality not holding up, the service took twice as long as promised. Very unprofessional, greedy, and no real integrity in her work. Saddened to see this happen. Edit: You did not perform a service on me, but I was present with my friend during the hours of service, and I saw the outcome. I wanted to leave a review as a witness to the way you handled the situation.

Unprofessional, unwilling to resolve mistakes, and no integrity as a business owner. I’m not one to write reviews of any kind, but the total lack of professionalism and mishandling of services warrant an extremely loud warning to potential clients. During my consultation for basic highlights and a hair trim I was promised by Jillian that the service would be no longer than 3 hours maximum. As this salon charges per hour, I knew it would be an investment, however since I was assured the service would be done in the allotted time I agreed to the appointment. I was also told by Jillian to do research on different shades of toner that would be used on my hair in order to find my desired color. Unfortunately, what should’ve been a basic service turned into a 5+ hour ordeal and $400 financial loss. Neither shade of toner I had chosen were stocked in the salon which required Jillian to cocktail a formula of her own. I had even offered to pick up the toner myself but she reassured me that she could do it herself with the supplies available. I spent over 3 hours in the chair as she tried to correct the tone yet the outcome was completely different than what was promised. Despite this error, she still charged me for the full amount of time I was at her salon. I was told to come in the following day so that she could fix it, however after messaging her I received no response until nearly two days later stating that she had a family emergency. While I completely understand these things happen, a notice or quick message would have been greatly appreciated, as I had already covered over the color myself- after receiving several negative comments on the color and no word from Jillian on fixing it. After finally be contacted, I explained the entire situation to Jillian and respectfully asked for a partial reimbursement. While she did acknowledge her error in regards to the color, she refused to resolve the issue as I had already fixed the color myself and spent her “valuable” time in the chair. I once again stated the facts of the situation and even agreed to pay for the initial 3 hours that were promised, (despite not getting the results that were promised) but she never even bothered to message me back. I’m very disheartened at this entire situation as I could’ve easily been a recurring client of Jillian’s had things been handled professionally. I do not recommend this salon to any potential clients as the owner has made it clear she values dollar signs more than professionalism and integrity. EDIT: After seeing the owner’s reply to this I am continued to be disappointed by the quality of service and feedback. I’m even more shocked to see the dishonesty as I was never told to send any photo for reference. As a future professional hairstylist myself, I will learn from this experience to treat my clients with full transparency in my services. In the meantime I will continue to spread awareness and full truth of the situation. EDIT 2: It’s worth mentioning the only review I left has been on this platform. I have not been review bombing you or doing anything unprofessional to discredit your business. My friend left a review out of his own will because he was present during the service and wished to testify in my behalf.

Based on photos, I was excited about my first appointment with Jillian for a curly cut and color. I was EXPLICIT about not wanting a darker color, stating it NUMEROUS times. My hair was gray and blonde with some leftover light brown underneath. Jillian showed me dark colors, though I repeatedly steered her toward lighter ones. She appeared to be listening, but ultimately, I wasn't heard. At the end of the appointment I was STUNNED that my hair was dark brown! I expressed my displeasure. She stated that, because there was light brown underneath, she had to use a dark color...what?! I said, "Are you telling me that because someone colored my hair light brown six months ago I'm forever married to brown?" She said that it would fade and that I should make an appointment for highlights and lowlights for the following month. I wasn't happy about that because I spent a lot of money for color, but agreed to the appointment because I was upset about how it looked. I spent the next several days trying to adjust to the color, but I hated it. I contacted Jillian and asked her to do a color correction without cost because she did the exact opposite of what I had asked. She declined, so I asked her to work with me on the cost. I have NEVER made such a request of any colorist in my life. Not only did she refuse, she sent a text cancelling my upcoming appointment with only 13 days notice and dismissed me as a client! Who does that?! I've been a business owner and know the importance of working with customers to provide excellent, professional service. I had an important global meeting to attend and was unable to get an appointment with someone else in such a short amount of time. I was embarrassed because the crown had faded to an odd color, the middle was very dark, and the bottom was a third shade! I liked the cut at the end of the appointment, but using the same products, I've been unable to even make my hair look decent because it's the dreaded A cut right below my ears with the rest one length! Awful. She cut it dry, but not according to the curl pattern as was done when I went to a Level 3- Certified DevaCut stylist in the past where I used to live. I was charged $170.00 for a cut and color that I hate and offered no recourse. So disappointing.

My hair ended up super crooked. Fully lopsided. I asked for layers and I got one dramatic choppy layer. When I got there she barely greeted me and then immediately turned to her assistant and started mapping out their social media video without any discussion with me about it. There was much more concern for the social media post than my actual haircut.

Jillian is a curly hair whisperer. She takes the time to listen to what I want while also making sure my curls stay healthy. Her space is always clean and welcoming and I highly recommend her to anyone, even if you don’t have curly hair!

Jillian is amazing at what she does. I have never had a consistent hair dresser before because no one ever knows what to do with my curls. I usually ask for it to be straightened so they don't leave me a frizzy mess... Not with Jillian. She is the only person who has ever been able to do my hair curly. I've got two curly kiddos who get their hair cut from her as well and always looks great! She truly wants to educate you about your hair and is very interested in not damaging hair with color and product. I truly appreciate her!

Wonderful Experience with Jillian. My hair is so health since she has been cutting it and coloring it 3yrs now. My color is exactly how I like it. I don’t feel rushed, she takes her time . I highly recommended Jillian at New Moon Hair Studio. She will treat you wonderful!

Just an overall terrible experience. I had a great experience before, so I was hesitant to write this review. I went for a curl express cut Dec 22. Since my hair wasn’t washed or styled at the salon I didn’t really see the results. From previous experiences I was confident it would be what I asked for. Once home, I washed and styled my hair. I noticed one side was longer and from the back it looked angled. I waited until after the holidays to reach out and asked to schedule an appointment to get it corrected. Two weeks went by with no response so I messaged again. I got a response on Jan 12th, and was able to make a time to get it fixed. However, because of the snow storm and life, it was canceled. She said she would get back with me with rescheduling. Another week went by with no response. So Jan 24th I messaged her again. No response. I messaged her four more times without a response. I feel like I have been pretty patient and considerate. It has been incredibly frustrating. After not getting a response for the fourth time, I scheduled an appointment with another salon and got it fixed. Including the cost of the first appointment and the one to get it fixed I paid $102 dollars for a trim.

I saw Jillian for my first deva cut and had a wonderful experience. She also did a balayage color that was exactly what I asked for. As someone who has recently started embracing my natural hair texture I definitely needed some guidance as far as styling method and the best products for my hair type. She took the time to explain and show me how to style my hair and how to apply the products. I highly recommend Deva Studio and will definitely be back!

Let me say if you are a curly girl or guy you need to make an appointment here! It’s been a long time since I’ve been wowed by a hair salon, this was such a great experience. My appointment was with Julie, she took her time and explained everything to needed to know about my hair, what it needs, how to style and dry it best. They use innerscense organic products which are Cruelty-Free which is a must in my book, just look at my before and after pictures, you won’t be disappointed!
