2nd time going here and was absolutely AMAZED with the results. Ordered a cut and Digital Perm with Celine and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest! Celine was very nice, professional, and informative with my hair, especially letting me know that a digital perm wasn’t necessary and instead helped me with a down perm and charged me with that instead! While cost may be a little high, what you’re paying for isn’t necessarily the haircut, but the quality and professionalism that comes with it. the staff here are very courteous and kind! They offer refreshments of your choosing if you are thirsty and also sell hair products that will help maintain the longevity of the haircut you got! If you have a hairstyle in mind, make sure to have reference photos/videos so that the stylists may help you achieve your desired hair style! TL;DR - An amazing place with amazing hairstylist and staff! While expensive, it’s worth the cost. 10/10 and make sure you book with CELINE! Shes absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to go again!

I got my haircut and color glazing by Namoo. She was super kind and helpful when I had concerns about my outgrown balayage and root growth. I originally went for a hair cut, ended up staying to get my hair colored and I’m so happy I did!! I’m happy with my final results and the consultation I received based on my inspo photos was very helpful. All the staff were so nice and I’d 100% come back. Thank you Namoo :)

I had an urgent need for a last-minute appointment, and this salon accommodated me right away. David did an amazing job with my hair—I absolutely loved the blow dry! The service was quick, professional, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I don’t have the picture of my hair unfortunately, but I can highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for great service!

Tiffany is the best hairstylist that I have seen in NYC. I have gotten my hair cut by her four times now over the past year or so and am never disappointed with the result. She listens to what you want, provides suggestions and always delivers. I am so happy I found her and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a hairstylist in NY!

Excellent. Same standard as you would find in Perth West Australia. I had my roots touch up. They gave me a nice relaxing hair wash and massage. Cost was USD$100.

Hallelujah! Namoo is a Queeeeeeeeeeen!!! The skin on my head turned out to be come red and flaky. It got worse when the weather and especially hormonal changes. After the consultation, she suggested me to try the scalp treatment. I surprised my hair didn’t become greasy next in the morning! The staff were so friendly and professional. I’m so happy that I found this place. I can’t wait to see her again! Thank you Namoo

I went there for my root touch-up color for the first time after hearing positive experiences from my friends. However, I was a bit skeptical and surprised to see so many positive reviews after having my hair done at this place. The stylist (Jeane) did an okay job with my hair color; she matched it as requested. However, the overall experience did not compare favorably to my previous salon visits. During the process, I noticed some hurriedness, as she had another customer waiting, and it seemed we were the last appointments of the day. This didn’t really bother me, but the way my hair was handled was a bit rough. Before the treatment, I asked the stylist if I should remove my earrings, and she said it wasn’t necessary. I assumed my ears would be covered with plastic earmuffs, but they weren’t. Consequently, the dye ended up all over my ears. I had to grab tissues myself to clean it off, as the stylist didn’t seem to notice. It wasn’t until after the process was complete that she finally provided the plastic earmuffs. I also experienced some itchiness on my scalp. While I understand that some discomfort is expected due to the chemicals, I felt that the application of the dye wasn’t very gentle. The dye also ended up on my ears and parts of my forehead and face. While this is somewhat understandable, I’ve had minimal issues with dye application at other salons. When it was time for the hair wash, I was attended to by an assistant. Although she was okay, the experience wasn’t the greatest. My face wasn’t covered with a facecloth, so water splashed on it, which was manageable. She was supposed to dry my hair, but she was asked to wash another customer’s hair by a senior stylist. The senior stylist, Megan, then helped with drying my hair, but only dried the outer layer, leaving the inner sections still extremely wet. I didn’t complain at the time because I was told my stylist would finish up. When my stylist returned, I expected her to complete the drying process, but she only commented that the color looked great and was very hurried to leave. I felt uncomfortable stopping her, but I had to point out that my hair wasn’t fully dry. She dried it again after my request but she mentioned that stylists at this salon usually don’t dry permed hair thoroughly. While that may be true to some extent, the inner sections/ scalps of the hair should still be properly dried, especially given the chilly weather. Unfortunately, my hair was still damp with minimal blow-drying. Overall, the staff were generally decent, but their handling of the job didn’t meet my expectations. I’ve never experienced this with other salons, and I honestly don’t think I’ll return. I’m giving 1 star for the smooth reservation experience and for accommodating a last-minute change to move my appointment 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. (Yes, the salon wasn’t closing and still taking customer when my hair was done)

The only stylist who is really amazing here is Megan, but prices have been completely jacked up. Are touched up my roots but none of my grays were covered correctly nor did she match my original color. It was so noticeable that everyone commented on the top of my hair having a different color. If you have unlimited spending, I highly suggest Megan as a stylist, but note that her prices are the most expensive in this entire K Town area.

Ara has been my stylist for the past few years and honestly, this is one of the best places to get a cut in NYC. She definitely will give you what you are looking for and if you’re not completely sure what you want, she will give recommendations that is suited for you. A great stylist, great environment, and definitely a wonderful experience. Highly recommend Ara!

Ara at newhair nyc is a genuine miracle worker. The experience was incredible; the scalp massage during the wash was so soothing, and the service was quick and professional. I really appreciate that I was able to find a stylist familiar with East Asian hair. My hair was so beautiful after!! I got stopped so many times down the street by people asking where I got it done. Ara is the best hairstylist in nyc!!! It always took ages to find the right salon whenever I moved to a new country or city. You know It is quite stressful to try every single salon untill you find the right one as you have to spend or waste your time, energy and money but Ive already found the best stylist for my hair after only one try! I highly recommend if you want to get balayage. You will have NO regrets for sure.

I am pretty loyal to NewHair. I've gotten long cuts (from lower back to shoulder length) and full balayages. Definitely worth the travel from NJ and money. She brings my hair to life and always understands what i want. My hair is slightly complicated - mostly wavy and some coils but straightens out with length and weight. I've never been disappointed and always love my hair after coming from here.

Just had my first ever scalp treatment here and let me tell you it was amazing. Neo and Dex did the best job!! They first started by taking a picture of your scalp condition, explaining each step and how to improve the condition, then steaming, wash (with the most comfy scalp massage) then a full blow dry. My scalp felt so clean and rejuvenated plus, my hair was picture ready ✨ they also take a picture of the results and my scalp was spotless!

After years of getting my hair done at home (Connecticut) where the stylists I've been to cannot seem to figure out Asian hair, I decided to make an appointment at a salon with Korean stylists who have more experience with my type of hair. I made a Friday appointment after work which I almost bailed on because it was a particularly long week at work, but I decided to go, and was really happy that I did. My appointment was for a Japanese Straightening treatment. Ai was my primary stylist, and Dex helped her out to help move the process along because this particular process is LONG (4 hours on hair that falls just below the shoulders). Ai was so meticulous throughout the entire process and paid a lot of attention to detail - she was sweet and very attentive, and ensured that every part of the process was comfortable and enjoyable. Dex is absolutely adorable (not to mention, he had his own client during part of my styling treatment, and her hair came out beautifully). The energy and vibe of the salon is very cool. Got home that night and my 13 year old daughter said, "Woah. I LOVE it." That's about the highest praise you can get from a teenage girl... So happy I found this place, and very glad that I didn't bail on my late Friday night appointment!

I had a great haircut yesterday at NewHair. I have been there a couple times before and I had different stylists every time i went there because I wanted to find someone who matches well with me and my hair. I met Jeane yesterday and she listens so well. She gave me exactly what I wanted and more. I love my new cut! I will be happily booking my appointments with her now. :)

nothing really impressive. stylist dont even talk to suggest with the hair. doesnt even style it after blow drying. i wish i never tried this salon and i consider sticking with the old one.waste of money.

Super satisfied with their service. Professional, clean, organize, most importantly hospitable. The variety of beverage complimentary is such a nice gesture and thoughtful. Remembering depends on what kind of service you get and how long you’d be spending time there. It shows how much the business care for your experience. I booked a root perm today by Megan. She is a hair magician. After witnessing how much work her and the nice assistant put today, the service consider very quick. I started at 11am and finished by 2:30ish pm. That is a lot of time for one service. But I could tell how much she’s passionate about what she does and she listened what I really need. So thank you Megan and her nice assistant, I forgot her name. She made sure I am comfortable during the process. Just go! You’ll thank me.
