I had given up on trusting hairstylists but Alaina completely changed that for me. She listened and helped me figure out what we should go for. She took the time to make sure it looked perfect! I’m so grateful. Also, I would like to thank Cami because she was very acommodating. The salon is also very clean and it looks super nice! I enjoyed it very much.

I had an Appointment with Cami, not only was the salon clean, welcoming, just everything I knew it would be, and the other stylists on point Cami did exactly what I asked for! She asked about my hair, she saw, and understood my struggles, I will now forever be her client. She knows what’s up, highly recommended

Cierra is consistently the best! She probably cares about the outcome of my cut and color more than I do. She is incredibly detail oriented and talented. Her prices are extremely fair and I am always very pleased with the result. I have been seeing her for about 3 years now and just recently learned that she writes down the formula for what she does to my hair (and every client) so she can reference it to see what worked well and what she should tweak. That level of dedication is amazing and I am so grateful to have found someone that truly cares about making me look and feel my best! Would 100% recommend to anyone!

I would highly recommend Nicole Renee salon! Cierra has been coloring and cutting my hair for years and I am never disappointed. I get blonde highlights and I like it to look more natural than bleached white. She listens, pays attention to details and is very knowledgeable when answering my questions. Plus she’s an actual kick in the pants to chat with and I always leave feeling better than when I arrive!

This is a very fun salon full of very talented stylists. I have been seeing Cierra for about 6 years and would follow her anywhere :) I always look forward to seeing Cierra and leave very happy with the cut and color. I highly recommend this super fun salon

Absolutely loved this salon, I was so scared getting my hair cut, I haven't been in the Portland area for too long and was trying to secure a good hairstylist. Maribel was amazing and honest about the style I wanted. I left feeling great!

Full disclosure, I am leaving this review as someone who booked an appointment but never received services from anyone at the salon. I wanted to share my experience about the booking & cancellation policy as it completely left a bad taste in my mouth about the salon as a whole. Back in April, I booked an appt for June 26th as this was the earliest availability I could find, the appointment was with Lauren. Having never been to the salon before, I selected partial highlights, and a haircut, and the cost of services was $260. However, I was under the impression that we would have a consultation at the beginning of the appointment and tweak the exact services based on the look we were trying to achieve. Fast forward to June, I had some pretty gnarly life changes. My long time partner and I split up after living together and I moved out of Portland mid-June. Might go without saying but lots on my mind, and the hair appointment was not at the top of the list. Also worth noting, my phone number was entered wrong in the salon's system and so any texts sent to me were not received. I received an email today, June 26 that my appointment was at 3pm and immediately called Lauren to let her know that I was not in Portland anymore and wouldn't be able to make in the afternoon (8 hr notice). She let me know of the cancellation policy and that she would indeed be charging me for the full services due to the last minute cancellation. She let me know that she is often understanding of people's situations but in my case, I didn't provide a compelling enough reason. She actually charged me the full $260 WHILE we were on the phone and continued to talk to me for 3 more minutes without saying that she charged me. This serves as a cautionary tale to anyone who read this far but also I think the cancellation policy is insanely harsh. $260 is A LOT OF MONEY for literally getting nothing in exchange. I get that the stylists need to make their money, but if the place is booked out two months in advance... there isn't ANYONE in their network to contact to help fill the last minute spot!? Seems crazy. I wish Lauren & team would empathize more.

I’m going on 3 weeks with this haircut I went in prepared to do an initial Cut of 2 to 3 inches with a blunt cut with blended layers. For the shaping. Instead I got the Portland special a long choppy shag With texturizing and multiple layers to help as she put to remove weight and give volume I did not ask for that mind you I have 3-A to 3C hair I don’t need help in the volume department My hair typically has nice soft curls up to 3 days and then I switch to my bun with minimal knotting now I have knots not end of day one Alaina thank you for ruining my hair and as you put it the free deep conditioning also something I didn’t ask for and ignoring and going with what you knew was best for me I’m embarrassed to where hair down it’s just one huge matted mess I regret trusting you I’m very upset about my hair and cami ward I’m still waiting on a response from you maybe if I was spending 100s of dollars on balayage and special cut I would be worth the trouble of responding to thank you @nicoleReneesalon for an unforgettable experience my first haircut in Portland and I get to look like everyone else with a long choppy shag 😣😔👍🏼

I love this place. I’ve been to several Portland salons over the years and Cami at Nicole Renee is my favorite by far. She is friendly and warm. Her pricing is totally fair. She treats you so well and her haircuts are SO GOOD. I’ve been growing out a pixie cut and she’s been making me look amazing during what should be all the awkward stages. So happy I found this place - I’d highly recommend Cami to anyone I know.

The vibes here are immaculate and Cami is absolutely incredible. I am relatively unfamiliar with hair styling and only had a basic sense of what I wanted at my first appointment. Cami asked questions and used her expertise to create an amazing look that incorporated the length and style I wanted. Not only did my hair look and feel fantastic right after the cut, it still looks fabulous almost 4 months later. I love my hair now just as much as the day it was cut! I would go back for the expertise alone, but Cami is also exceptionally kind, engaging, and genuine in her connection with clients. Overall, Cami has far exceeded any other hairstylist I've been to and I look forward to seeing her again in the future!

Cami Ward, the owner of this salon is living her best life at the expense of yours. Skip this salon, or at least Cami. Run. Supercuts would be a safer choice. Cami is more concerned with your payment than she is with the promises she makes, or the professionalism of her salon. And, lest you think you’re safe if you go with another stylist, if Cam-zilla decides she doesn’t like you, you will be banished from the salon, regardless of how long you have worked with your stylist, and you will be left in the lurch. Her “vision” is more important than yours and you will not get the hair she promises. Instead, what you will get is highly damaged hair, gaslighting, and a huge bill. I previously reviewed this salon & gave it 5-stars, largely on the strength of Nathan, one of the stylists who works there. We left another salon to follow Cami and give a starting, women-owned business a try. Unfortunately, they have utterly failed. Cami consulted with my daughter who wanted a sparklier, slightly blonder version of her own color for prom. The mission statement was “natural, professional, and easy maintenance,” ahead of leaving for college. When my daughter went back in for her appointment 3 weeks later, Cami seemed to have completely forgotten this discussion and asked “so what are we doing.” Daughter reiterated mission statement & showed Cami a photo of a pretty, natural blonde style. Cami then proceeded on a 4-hour odyssey that began by bleaching my daughters below-shoulder blade length gorgeous hair, tip to scalp white. Cami would frequently walk away for lengthy periods of time while the bleach was on the hair to giggle with several other stylists while they were last-minute rescheduling and cancelling clients for the next day so they could go out to cocktails together. Besties before business, apparently. Despite daughter expressing concern to Cami about how long the bleach was on her hair, Cami always blew it off. With the resultant white hair, and daughter’s plea that “no this isn’t what I wanted,” Cami began adding a color which can only be described as Crayola yellow. All the meanwhile, Cami was gaslighting my daughter telling her how “gorg”(eous) her hair looked. Another girl in the salon was texting my daughter to tell her how awful her hair looked and asking how Cami was ever going to fix it. Cami began throwing every chemical she had in the back, including now a root smudge several shades darker than the original hair color. Cami was not listening, just doing more, achieving less, and clearly getting frustrated that her vision was not appreciated. She then charged us double the usual because the bleaching we did not want nor ask for costs more. The result: Instead of natural, professional, and low maintenance, we received a four hundred dollar bill, burns to daughter’s scalp, with clumps of hair falling out. In a short-lived effort to take some responsibility, Cami scheduled another gloss in two weeks to try to tone down the Crayola mistake. Two days before that appointment, and less than a week before graduation (which she was aware was coming up), she abruptly cancelled, telling us she was uncomfortable & we had different visions. We agree: It is uncomfortable when you blow off promises made at a consultation, completely destroy someone’s hair, charge for your mistakes, nearly ruin two major life events, and fail to take responsibility or apologize. Note: after she canceled the ‘fix’ appointment, we demanded our money back, which we received, but with no acknowledgement or apology. Some things money cannot fix. Like 2 years of upcoming damaged hair & awful grow-out…

I get my hair cut and colored by Eddie Scissorhands and **absolutely** love it. Eddie is incredibly knowledgeable about hair care and I always leave feeling hotter than I came in. I normally get my hair cut and balayage. I recently got pink highlights added in and I'm obsessed! It's so fun and I'm grateful Eddie answered all my fashion color newbie questions. I highly recommend booking with Eddie! She's fun and a total hair care expert!

I’ve been seeing Cami for over 5 years for a full highlight and cut. I could not recommend her more highly. I fly from LA to Portland every 2 months to see her, she is that incredible. Over the years, as my tastes and styles have changed, she has always listened and executed exactly what I was going for. She often tells me about workshops she attends on her days off to gain new insight with the work she does. Cami is highly talented with hair, and she always does her best to accentuate my natural hair and suggest styles that can be maintained easily while I’m out of town. I am reliably happy with my hair from the first day it’s done, until the last day before I see her again. Aside from her notable skills, Cami creates a warm and inviting environment at the salon with the clients and other hair stylists. You can tell that the stylists are all passionate about their work and about helping their clients achieve beautiful results. My sister has seen several of the stylists at Nicole Renee for her color as well, and her hair always looks healthy and refreshed. Cierra, Lauren, Hoku, and Cami have all done a beautiful job with her hair. I confidently recommend the salon to anyone who is looking for a high quality of work with pricing that feels very reasonable for the level of skill and care that’s given to every client.

This place is great! It’s a beautiful space with lots of light and plants, and you can tell that people are happy to be there! I got a haircut from Taylor and she is so talented and lovely. I feel like she really listened when I described the cut I wanted, and I am so happy with the results! Additionally, it was very reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning.

I feel like I just went on a relaxing, tropical vacation! I can’t say enough great things about this salon. The space is so refreshing; the greenery mixed with fun bright colors, open space and windows creates an airy and enjoyable ambiance. The wonderful people who work there are a breath of fresh air - so welcoming and authentic. I see Cierra for my hair and she never disappoints. It’s like salon service with entertainment - she’s a true people person and is a pro at making you feel comfortable and relaxed, and then you leave with gorgeous hair! Win win. I wish I needed my hair done more just so I could be in this wonderful space with great people more often!

I have been seeing Ciera for several years now and she is amazing! I send everyone I know to her. She has next level natural talent combined with excellent training; my hair is always poppin when I leave her chair. I don't know how she does it but my hair looks good even when it's growing out... seriously... not even Covid could bring down my hair game. I was so excited that she opened her own salon - it has been a long time coming! I have a feeling Nicole Renee is going to become one of Portland's top salons. Ciera and Cami are cultivating an incredibly talented team and creating an atmosphere you want to come back to.

Love this new hair salon in SE Portland. Can’t recommend the hair stylist Cami enough. Although the salon location is new, I’ve been receiving blonde hair services for years from Cami and she’s so talented. It’s obvious that she stays up to date on trends and techniques. And she always goes above and beyond to beautifully style her clients hair. She’s also helped me with hair styling for special occasions. The salon itself is relaxing, clean, and has a flowy, upbeat vibe with beautiful plants. It’s really easy to book appointments with their online system too.
