I came here on a whim since I live close by, it turned out to be the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Sei is a hair virtuoso. He analyzed my head shape, hair type, asked me about my hair routine and past cuts, and recommended a cut based on all of this info. He gets into this flow while he’s cutting your hair — you’re watching an artist at work. He gave me the perfect length and layers and a beautiful blowout. I’ll def be coming back.

All of my best/favorite haircuts have been at Noppera. No one shows my hair more care than Sei. I will always come back!! I have straight/wavy long hair but would trust Sei with any cut.

I've been a loyal customer of Jun-san for four years now, and have followed him to this new salon location. I'm never disappointed with my haircut. He is very thorough and and has an excellent eye for what is flattering for each person.

It’s been years since I got my hair cut professionally, but Tyler did such a wonderful job and I’m so happy with it. I have 2b/2c curls and had dry/damaged hair and I didn’t think it could look and feel this healthy. Tyler was super thorough beforehand and really got to know my hair type and texture and what I wanted out of this cut, and he walked me through a lot of options and ways the cut could go. All of it was such an enjoyable experience and also Tyler is just such a dope person in general. Go see Tyler!!!

Master hair stylist Jun-SAN’s new location in the Union Square! Finding this place was like looking for a coolest speakeasy bar in the busy neighborhood of Union Square. Once you get off the elevator, I was not sure if I were in the right place , but once I spotted a tiny sign “Noppera” I knew I was in the right place. Once I opened the door, a spacious, well lit, & inviting space filled with whimsical artwork greeted me. I was delighted to see my hair stylist, oh-so-stylish, Jun-San standing there. His hair cut & style was perfect for me to in compliance with the weather, season, & occasion. What a delightful & therapeutic outing it was!

I can’t recommend Tyler enough! I got my first haircut from him earlier this week, and I honestly think it might be the best haircut I have ever had. Without knowing me or my hair previously, he took the time to look at my hair, my head/face, and the pictures I brought in, and gave me a cut that feels so customized to me. I was going from pretty long hair to a very short pixie, so it was a massive change. I’ve gotten dozens of compliments on it over the past 2 days. He took his time and was so detailed with everything - he just really nailed it. He also recommended a product that wasn’t super expensive - they don’t even sell it at the salon, so it wasn’t some annoying upsell. GO SEE TYLER - he will make you look so good. Also, the salon itself is really cool and beautiful inside. Awesome vibe all around.

My best friend recently sent me to Noppera because I desperately needed a hair cut. I had an excellent experience! Sei listened to what I wanted and gave my hair brand new life in an hour! Very talented stylist, would recommend! Also the head massage with the hair wash is heavenly.

Got my hair cut by Tyler. He is really sweet, funny and most importantly highly skilled at what he does. I wanted a really short haircut for the summer, and he nailed it perfectly. He gave me exactly what I wanted!

Sei has been cutting my hair for over 12 years. There is no one else I would trust or go to. When I had to move to another city for work, I still remained loyal to him because that is how amazing he is! He is extremely meticulous in his craft and is so talented. Couldn’t recommend him enough!

Got the best ever haircut by Tyler! If you are looking for a drycut master, look no further. He is such a great listener and was able to shape my loose curls like a pro. Great conversationalist as well :) I will follow Tyler wherever he goes and he will be my go to stylist for a long time!

Great experience from start to finish. Got a Groupon based on reviews and was not disappointed. Easy booking online. The place is very welcoming and warm. Jun was very professional and friendly. He really listened, made recommendations and delivered. I left the place fewling ppered, with a great haircut. Definitely recommend Jun and Noppera and will be returning again.

I had a wonderful experience at Noppera, would definitely visit again and have recommended it to friends and family. Tyler is a phenomenal stylist. I went in with incredibly long hair and asked him to cut half of it off, it was a drastic but necessary haircut and I am so glad I trusted Tyler to do it!

Here is a photo taken after a three-month-old haircut by Sei. Effortless to style in the breeze! Another Update! another trip. Each trip to New York , for Sei's haircuts fills me with immense joy. Traveling from LA is always worth it; Sei's expertise is such that his cuts require minimal maintenance for months! In the past, I frequented salons every four to six weeks due to my thick, coarse, wavy hair. However, Sei's skill surpasses that need. Moreover, the salon's ambiance and music elevate my spirits, leaving me feeling absolutely fantastic. The new location is fantastic, spacious and chic relaxing:) The shampoo chair is comfortable! Sei’s haircut is always incredible!

Not only was Tyler a super cool person, but he also took the disaster that was my long, shapeless hair and made it gorgeous. My only complaint is that he did not gift me a handheld mirror so that I could hold it in front of myself as I walked home and admire my new haircut every step of the way.

This salon is a hidden gem! Tyler gives the best cuts tailored to you. He is a master of his craft really cares about his clients and always wants to make sure you leave happy - and you definitely will! I get a men’s haircut and I can’t get this kind of tailored cut anywhere else.
