Wow, terrible. Last week I called and spoke to Simone on the phone. I asked for a wash and 10 feed in corn rows. I was quoted $150 plus $5/ per braid in addition to the 10. Pretty steep but whatever. My appointment was for the following day at 12pm. The next day I leave work early but I am still running about 5 mins behind. I text Simone at 11:50 to let her know I was running late, to show respect for her time. No response. I get to the shop at 12:05 and the owner tells me Simone is not there and she called to let her know I was there waiting. At 12:10 Simone texts me to me she’s going to be late. Okay, fine. At 12:20 I text Simone and asked her how long she would be and she said 10 more minutes. It’s now 12:45 and Simone pulls up and sits in the car for a few mins before coming inside (I can see her through the window). She comes inside , does not acknowledge me, explain OR even apologize! I’m shocked at this point. I ask her if I would be done by 3pm as I had a following appointment. She said yes. I get into her chair and she starts braiding. I told her I needed a wash and she then tells me if she washes my hair she won’t be done by 3pm. I booked at 12pm because her website said it would take her two hours for the style and I left 55 minutes for a wash. At this point I’m upset, I took time off work, her unprofessionalism and lack of communication, I just leave. This whole time the owner is there and says absolutely nothing. I will never go back to this establishment. Totally unprofessional and sad . The stylist was a NubianCity stylist OFF the NubianCity website. SN: I found a great braider at BB African Braiding just down the street. They did a great job with more braids for half the cost, they were professional AND they got me in and out in 1.5 hours. Recommend

Just looking at the prices on the website and the fact that yall don’t even wash and condition hair just braiding it… the prices are crazy

My stylist LoLa was friendly and gentle that'd 2 plus for me ..I don't enjoy getting my hair done by anyone with no conversation..my braids turned out awesome and iv gotten plenty of compliments

Our experience with Tyeast was amazing. She interlocked my granddaughter’s hair. My granddaughter is 9. She’s never been to a beauty salon. Tyeast made a special memory for her. She was kind and chatted away with my baby! She had the full beauty parlor experience with all the tea!😊 I recommend Nubian Citi to anyone looking for fair pricing, a warm beautiful environment, a friendly loctician and beautiful hair results. My granddaughter loves her hair! That means everything. Thank you Tyeast. We’ll be back.

Listen, I visited and serviced by Ashley about 2 1/2-3 years ago and was more than pleased with my style. I grew up in the area but had never gotten my hair done here so when I booked my appointment I told the lady I didn’t care who did my hair, I just wanted it to be nice, neat, and moisturized. I am VERY particular about my hair so being that my appointment was a last minute appointment (on my end) I was very nervous but I took a leap of faith and god looked out for me, & Ashley really came through. She washed, deep conditioned, & dried my hair FOR FREE. I then showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she was upfront about the price being a little more than what I expected because they were feed in braids in the picture.. I decided not to get feed in braids and told her to do regular corn rows with that same style and she delivered. The environment was so professional and friendly it truly made me feel like I was at home. I haven’t been back since then but if I’m going to a salon for braids, it’s definitely gonna be Nubian city.

More than satisfied! 10/10 will go again. I've had dread locks for 3 years now with regular maintenance done each season. But I couldn't find a good loctician anywhere near Lynchburg who would cater to Caucasian, straight-hair dreads — until I was referred to Star at Nubian Citi. She was clear and fair with her prices, had me in for a consultation to really understand what I wanted and what she could do, and then she did absolutely fantastic work!!! 👏 I had so much root growth and lots of matting between locks and Star separated and cleaned everything up so precisely! I can see my sectioning, feel breeze on my scalp, and I get compliments on my locs everywhere I go!! She knows how to treat all sorts of textures of hair properly and made sure my hair was healthy and happy! Thank you a million Star!!!

Star did exceptional work!! My daughter has very thick hair and Star took the extra time to be sure the soft Locs looked professional…the end result was beautiful!! This was my first visit and I definitely recommend others call for an appointment

Such a tranquil and pleasant salon.. and the same for the Nubian Queens that serve here. I love that their purpose is to ensure that I leave there feeling and looking my Nubian queen self. I love it!

I have always received excellent service when visiting this salon. Not only are all stylists professional, they are true masters of their craft. I call Dymond the Hair Doctor. I love my hair EVERY TIME. She has helped me through my entire loc journey.. Also, Tyeast the owner has this hair oil that is Amazing!!!! I don't use any other oil in my hair.
