I was so impressed with the results on my niece’s hair that I immediately knew I’d found my new salon. Stephanie’s work is nothing short of amazing! The results were great, however the experience was awful. I respect the hustle and how fast she is when she works, but you will pay 160+ just to wash and burn off your hair. Flat iron is on high, 450 degrees, multiple passes with just a dash of heat protectant. She will yank your hair like there’s no tomorrow. Stephanie is a sweet lady, but she really needs to practice being more careful when handling her clients. My advise for her is to turn down the music, be transparent about the price, slow down and treat each customer with care. If you don’t care about healthy hair and just want straight hair, go to her! Otherwise, save your money and do your own hair.

I’m extremely pissed I booked an appointment with this place and I have an engagement on Friday the appointment was confirmed paid and Uber only to find the location on their website is not their location. She waited until i was at their old location walking around like a crazy person to tell me they moved their location to phoenix this is bad business practice and customer service. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Now I have dye my own hair thanks a lot for nothing

I am a person that never writes reviews, but I feel like this needed to be said. I’m not gonna lie I was excited to go and get my hair done but once I was there I felt uncomfortable and just smiled through it. I just moved out to Arizona from New York and had long healthy hair to the middle of my back. When I went into the salon I was told my hair was damaged it looked like a nest and it was just so uncomfortable. I have never been criticized like that to my face at a salon that’s supposed to make you feel good. After they washed my hair (with products I did not tell them to use because I brought my OWN) they then stuck me under a dryer with no products and no rollers because she said my hair needed to dry which caused MORE damage! Stephanie not only cut my hair while it was ONLY blowed out but she then cut my hair to be below my shoulders. Even after I told her NOT to do that. I was completely in pain the WHOLE TIME I was there as she was yanking my hair out of my head telling me it’s dry but it was only dry because she STUCK me under a dryer with no products because she didn’t want to “deal” with my hair at that moment. Towards the end, she started to straighten my hair and continued to bump my ends. Even after I told her I did not want that, and I wanted it to be pinned straight. She kept insisting that I get my ends bumped, and it will look good and they will fall. THEY DIDNT! At the end of the service she charged me $165!! I have never in my ENTIRE life gotten my hair done at a Dominican salon and paid $165. The most I have ever paid is $80 plus tip. She calls herself a New York City Dominican hairdresser, but I have gotten my hair done for way less and it has looked WAYYY better. I will NEVER come back to this salon! I should have listened to the reviews! I highly recommend that before you go to the salon you call and ask them how much she is going to charge. Not only did she charge me $165 but she broke it down and told me that it was $95 for a blowout (that price is INSANE AND I did not ask for that, I asked for rollers) and then she proceeded to charge me $30 for a deep conditioner. $25 for a trim and then added an additional $25 for flat ironing my hair. I have never been charged extra money to get my hair flat ironed as part of a wash and set service. She is way overpriced, and I am absolutely an utterly not amused with my hair and I cannot wait to put a wig on in two weeks. I will never be back!! I feel like I was completely scammed out of my money!! Oh and I had to go home and straighten my hair because the ends were still bumped and DID NOT drop!!

Amazing service! They were all so kind and professional. Not having an appointment, I walked in and asked if they could help me donate my hair to Wigs For Kids and they did a great job getting me in right away. They helped me feel comfortable with chopping 14 inches off of my hair, which was super nerve racking! But they did a fantastic job, I love how my shorter hair looks and I’m excited to donate my hair (: The only thing I would note is that I do feel $45 was a little much considering they didn’t wash my hair, use any product, or style it afterward.

Did a good job pressing out my hair Stephanie just charges whatever she feel like charging depending on what day you come and how she feels. Example I came on a Thursday it was one price I came on a Wednesday it was a whole different price AND for the same exact service. She says there are specials on Tues $25. I show up on Tuesday and still she charged $65 for again the very same service. Never have to worry about me coming back here that's the truth!

First time there today for my daughter and will be life long customers! My daughter is so happy with her hair!! Stephanie is amazing and patient and teaches you how to take care of your hair and keep it healthy. I just wish we would have found NYC sooner!

I visited the shop about two weeks ago and they were very friendly AT FIRST, that's the reason I gave some stars. However, one of the ladies criticized my blonde hair color because it didn't look like her blonde hair. The same lady told me to trust her but never gave me what I asked for and what I did get was okay but she left a lot of split ends and the style of course didn't last. I actually went home and cut the rest myself which made my hair much better because all I needed was am overdue trim. She spent more time critiquing my hair and trying to educate me on what I already knew instead of DOING A GOOD JOB herself. She asked me to trust her and the results were not trustworthy. I won't be back there and I do not recommend them, especially if your look is not what they want.

Per the website, they open at11am, I drove 45 min arrived @1050 waited till1105 called the phone number on the website and someone picked up the call and confirmed they were coming. 53 minutes later @1158, no call back to atleast tell me if they were on their way? and still the business was closed,@12pm I left . Time wasted!!!Don't waste your time!!!

So I was told about this place a while back. I didn't believe that my people from NYC also Dominican set up shop in AZ. I thought I was the very few! I feel like I'm back at home! The atmosphere, both hair stylist bomb!!! They did my roller dryer that NO OTHER AZ hair stylist has yet done. If you guys want top notch hair, come here!!!

So my baby has prom tomorrow and Initially we set up an appointment for braids (elsewhere) but when that Braider flaked I was getting a little stressed so I asked around and my Friend highly recommended NYC BEAUTY SALON he use to take his daughter to get her hair done there …. So My baby and I did a walk-in and I must say I absolutely love her the shop is so clean the ladies are all nice and very professional Stephanie explained to me just by looking at my daughters hair of things she needed done to achieve the best look and care for her hair and I must say Thank you a million times over my baby looks so beautiful with her new hair style we both love it … also let me not forget to mention how affordable everything was we most definitely will be going back here is another five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Stephanie is such a sweetheart. I walked in without an appointment after my hair braider flaked last minute. Stephanie was welcoming, professional, and just a great vibe overall. It was a plus that she's from NYC as I am from Harlem and haven't been able to find a Dominican shop since moving to Arizona. I definitely will be visiting again :-)

This is the best Dominican blow out you will ever get in the whole valley. I really enjoy the wash and massage provided here. I have never been disappointed. Ilana and I went to NYC Beauty Salon in Mesa Arizona on Friday afternoon to have my hair stylist to trim the dead ends of my hair, before she trim it, she had her assistant gave me an deep wash and an extra deep conditioner then I was sitting under the dryer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, then the stylist blow dry my hair and then flat iron it. And style, now my hair has extra body and bounce. My hair is so very soft and manageable. I really like the way my hair feels.
