Chiquita has been my loctitian for about 3 years and her hands are truly blessed. I was struggling with hair loss at the time, and I was seeking a practitioner who was going to help me figure out the cause, and provide me with a treatment plan that would help me get my hair back on track. I've had locs for 20+ years, but had always cared for them myself. I was not educated about natural hair care, and many of my habits were having a negative effect on my hair. Coupled with perimenopause and hair changes that come with that, I was struggling. From the initial consultation, Chiquita gave me a lot of useful tips to start to restore my hair and scalp health. She also recommended some general lifestyle changes that have also contributed to hair and scalp improvements. I have made significant progress in my hair journey due to her. Chiquita is extremely knowledgeable - she's a cosmetologist first and foremost, with extensive training and experience. She cares deeply about her clients and takes tremendous pride in her work. I recommend her to anyone who is seeking a hair stylist who truly knows their craft. I would be lost without her!

I love this salon! Everything about it contributes to the loc healing experience. It is therapeutic and the hair care I receive has transformed my locs. My locs and my confidence was restored. The Queen of Crochet provides an unparalleled experience! She is more than a cosmetologist, she is a sister, a friend, a counselor, a teacher! Her experience is beyond just the physical the magic she does with her hands is spiritual and therapeutic. I would give her way more than 5 stars bc she tells you the truth about your hair and coaches you to “hair wealth”! 10/10 since she started caring for me locs about 6 years ago. Back then I told her I will find her wherever she goes. I said that bc she isn’t just doing loc maintenance. She is an educated, passionate hair care licensed professional. She will shoot you straight and make sure you’re solid from scalp to the ends of your hair. Locticians/Cousins on the stoop, etc COULD NEVER.

Chiquita is super knowledgeable! I was happy to have started my locs with a professional cosmetologist who specializes in locs because of her emphasis on the health of your hair. Her shop, Omorose salon is relaxing and cozy, and I absolutely love my locs. They have feen flourishing and are healthy and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my loc journey!

In 9/2020, Chiquita brought me from the brink of accepting the old cliche of “my whole family loses our hair at an early age, reducing us all to wigs” to leaving your crown alone and trusting the Loc process the correct way! As a last-ditch effort in 9/2017, I paid an arm and a leg for instalocs that expedited my thinning process. As a cosmetologist, she took care of the hair 1st then focused on the look afterward. Yes, it was painful, but she taught me to trust the process, and it will be ever so significant that no one will ever touch my hair again. I go faithfully every 4-5 weeks.

Ms Chiquita aka Thee Crotchet Queen’s establishment is nestled in the historic district of Laurel. Once inside, you are in for a treat. The salon decor has feel of order, purpose, and Afrocentric vibe mash up with southern comfort. Ms Chiquita is a true professional. She has extensive knowledge in her craft. She is friendly, gives recommendations on how to ensure your hair can meet its full potential. Not only do I plan to be a repeat customer, I also would highly recommend Omorose Salon and Spa.
