Ayumi is amazing and so talented! I came in with hair in pretty bad shape. My hair type changed postpartum, going from straight to frizzy and wavy, so the bottom half of my hair was straight while the top half (newly grown) was wavy and super unruly. I didn’t know what I wanted and just said all I wanted was for my hair to not look so weird. I said I don’t know what to do with my new texture and had no idea what would look good. Ayumi asked me a few questions about my preference and maintenance preferences and went to work. I went from hating my hair to absolutely loving it. On top of that, Ayumi gave me a hairstyle with minimum maintenance and still looking so great (she knew I had a toddler and dont have time for maintenance). I love my new hair so much! Thank you Ayumi!

I had an incredible experience at Session! The salon itself is beautifully designed—stylish and comfortable, making the whole visit feel special. My stylist, Hummer, was fantastic. He was very attentive to detail, especially with my thick Asian hair, which can be challenging to style. He took the time to understand the look I wanted and carefully considered the weight and texture of my hair to make sure everything was just right. His meticulous approach and genuine care for the result really showed. I’m thrilled with how my hair turned out and can’t wait to return.

Had an appointment with Hummer for digital perm. Great service and I am very satisfied with my new hair style 💖 got a lot of compliments as well. Highly recommend!

I booked a haircut here because my regular stylist wasn’t available and, trusting her as a Japanese hairstylist, I really let the hairstylist took over and believed she’d do a great job. I showed her tons of photos of the butterfly cut(layered haircut) I wanted, and while the result wasn’t exactly what I envisioned at the end, I thought it was fine at first. It was until the next day, after washing my hair, I realized how poorly it had actually been cut—my fine hair frizzed out of control, and the layers - there were only two layers btw, were ALL wrong. I had to rush to my regular stylist to get it fixed. It breaks my heart to leave this review because the hairstylist who cut my hair was so lovely, but despite her kindness, the result was one of the worst haircuts I’ve had in years. P1—the immediate result (there was so many oil in my hair) P2—when I washed my hair the next day P3 —fixed by my current stylist ( SAVED my life, and without any styling!! We just did blow dry) She charges a higher rate and the result was not even half good as my regular stylist.

I got a layered haircut from Hummer, and I absolutely love it! It’s usually tough to find someone who can handle my thick hair, but he was really detailed. I’ll definitely go back!

Did my nails twice here already. Misaki does nails the BEST in nyc. So durable and can last very long. The longest time my nails lasted 7 and a half weeks by her! This salon is cute and in a convenient location. If you want to come during weekends, book early😄!

I love it here! The vibe of the salon is so chic and everyone is so nice. Chinatsu does my nails and always does a beautiful job! She’s extremely detail oriented and has a soft touch. I always walk out super happy. It’s such a treat! They literally have everything you can think of to create nails that suite your personality.

Got a haircut here for the first time by the stylist Hummer and the cut came out very much how I explained and wanted it to be. The whole time, Hummer was very accommodating to my wants and made sure the length of the cut was just right. Happy with the results and will be back again for another haircut and a perm!

Hummer did an amazing job with my bob haircut and digital perm, i got exactly what i wanted! this is my first perm and i appreciate that he gave me styling tips and answered all of my questions too. will definitely be coming back

Hummer's haircut and color were amazing. He was very kind and after consulting with me about hairstyle and hair color, he suggested something that would look good on me. I had a layered cut and highlights done and I love it. The atmosphere of the shop was nice and I had a great experience, so I'm looking forward to my next experience. ありがとうございました‼︎

I loved my haircut by Ritsuko as always. She’s so skillful and stylish! I’ve been her client for years and so happy for her and her partner for opening their own salon. The space is well designed and airy, which makes for a relaxing experience. They use only high quality products with lovely light scents. Looking forward to getting one of my rotating treatments done there next time. I highly recommend their services!

It was my first time here today and I absolutely love how it turned out!! I got a hair color & cut from Hummer and I told him I wanted to get rid of the red/orange-ness I had from my last hair dye. I verbally explained to him what I want without showing him any reference photo but the color & style turned out exactly how I wanted. Hummer was super nice and skilled, he added texture to my hair which I usually don’t do since my hair is so dry and frizzy but he made it work out and I didn’t realize adding them could look so nice on my hair. Will be definitely coming back soon!

Experiencing Mariko’s artistry was like love at first haircut. I met her at the last salon she worked at and have followed her to ON-SESSION because I genuinely love watching her work on my hair and the results are always immaculate. This was my first time at this salon and it’s a total delight to walk in, from the tall ceilings to the modernist design, I can’t wait to return!

I just love all my hair sessions with Megumu. She is super patient, always welcoming, detail-oriented and creative. My hair is always being taken good care of, and megumu offer great suggestions on how to choose different shampoo and conditioners. She is super good at doing balayage, blonde hair or any your style that you prefer. The on session salon itself is clean and spacious with free wifi and drinks. Definitely recommend!
