5 star service and Alexis is amazing. She took 20 minutes alone at the beginning of our appointment to answer all my questions about proper hair care and gave me tips on what I needed. She was so kind and attentive to my needs and was very knowledgeable! I appreciated the fact she didn’t say I needed to buy any harsh new brands that everyone else seems to advocate for, she 100% supported brands that used natural ingredients and were more holistic and healthy! She’s amazing!!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Alexis at Onyx Hair Boutique. She corrected a color mishap, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results! Nadia is talented and amazing ! She has been doing my cut and color for over 3 years and I would follow her anywhere ! This salon is lovely and clean with easy parking and a nice vibe. Nadia is somehow an even better human than she is a stylist and I cant recommend her more!

Hannah is AMAZING!!! I have wavy/curly hair and she treated each curl with so much love and care. She will walk you through exactly how to care for your hair and she’s so nice! I’m pretty introverted but she made me feel really comfortable! The staff here are all amazing and they offer refreshments/snacks too! :)

I called to make an appointment with Aleah Shakira to thread my eyebrows a long with my daughters eyebrows. I called a week ahead from Richmond, Aleah is the only person who has ever done threading on my eyebrows and my daughters eyebrows. I was told by the receptionist that her last appointment was 2:00. 2 appointments were made for my daughter and I. At 1:30 I called, stuck in traffic and I notified them that I would be 15 minutes late. They appreciated my call and because my appointment was actually at 2:15 they could take me but I was concerned that they couldn't take my daughter because I was told on the phone when I scheduled originally that the last appointment was 2:00. The receptionist agreed and appreciated the fact that I was only coming in. Aleah on the other hand communicated with me when I got there, which was an almost 3 hour drive, that her last appointment is actually at 3:00 and not 2:00 and that she could have taken my daughter. My daughter was also very disappointed that her eyebrows were not getting done. The service performed by Aleah is fantastic but I do wish the communication was better. Communication difficulties have occurred twice for me here at this location. With all of this being said, I would say take in consideration that I do schedule appointments from another state and this may be part of the confusions

Clay is such an artist! He is SO good with color!! I also love the way he cuts my hair!!Have been having Clay do my hair the last 4 years and he always does such an amazing job on both my hair (strawberry blonde)and my daughter's (blonde hair)! Highly highly recommend Clay! Onxy salon is affordable compared to the other well-known Cary salon I used before. I am picky about the type products we use on our hair and Davines works so much better on both my hair and my daughter’s long hair than any Aveda product we ever tried.

Just moved to the area and went to see Jess for a haircut in November. I really loved the cut and it was affordable too! Fast forward to today. I’m 9 months pregnant and was excited to get my hair cut for what will probably be the last time for a while. I made the appointment a few weeks ahead of time and get a call about 30 min from my appointment that they’re running 15 min behind. No big deal. Then I get a text saying they’re 30 min behind, then is 45 min. I have a toddler at home with a babysitter, and just don’t have the extra time to have the appointment continually pushed back. I was told they’re running behind because the person before me came late. Really disappointed overall in the whole experience. The hair cut I got previously was great, but I wouldn’t recommend this place to people who need to keep a schedule.

Love this salon. The environment is very welcoming and calming. They have refreshments and snacks for you. Debbie did my hair and I loved the cut! Came back for highlights and I’m in love! She did amazing. Would definitely recommend coming here, my experience was the best I’ve ever had with hair salons. Shout out to Debbie for helping me love my hair again! Thank you for the amazing service and hair! (Picture in the salon was for my cut and the second is the color. Absolutely love it! ❤️)

Hi, I came here a few months ago but didn’t want to leave a review that was solely based on feelings. So with that said the environment was nice and I felt welcomed by everyone but the guy upfront, but that was least of my worries. I had Jess who is a dry cut specialist, which I thought was a good thing. However, it was not and I asked for a trim. I had long straight hair with a few layers, real basic look but it fit me very well. She gave me semi-bangs (I had new hair growth and I think she mistook it for a grown out cut) and she gave me a MULLET!! People are still telling me how they like my mullet, but I do not, I still hate it. I don’t know what to do and with work i feel like i have no choice but to cut it myself which is how i ended up there in the first place. i’m not a mullet girl and idk what gave her that impression.

Very nice hair salon. Friendly and accommodating staff. This was my first professional haircut since the beginning of the pandemic and having two children. My stylist, Debbie Lopez, kindly wore a mask for my comfort as I was wearing a mask. She was friendly and very skilled. She really cleaned up my tired hair and made it bouncy and full of life again. I would highly recommend her and this salon!

I have been coming here for 2 years and not all super heroes wear capes but Hannah is just absolutely amazing! She does exactly what I want and always has great conversation. Also the staff here is pretty incredible as well high recommended this salon

Debbie is an absolute delight! I don’t trust anybody else with my hair - she kills it every time. Everybody here is fantastic. Lyss is so attentive and makes everybody feel so welcomed here. Couldn’t say anything bad about this place if I tried

Great service, great hospitality. I asked for a balayage on my hair and Debbie lopez from the beginning was honest and so caring with the amount of time it would take on my hair but from the beginning from the cut to the color she did an amazing Job, so far loving her work and would totally recommend 10/10. Responding to your comment: Me being late has nothing to do with her attitude. But I get it, you really can’t justify the way she treated me, so you just gonna blame it on me being late. Well done, Owner! If I were you, as a business owner, I would call the customer and instead of being so defensive, that we are you sure that you really care about your customer satisfaction. And if you asked nicely, I could’ve probably took my review down. But that just shows how petty this business is. Fyi.. I know you never asked me what happened but I clearly informed the front desk that I tried to call when I was on my way to let them know that I was running into a construction traffic but nobody answered the calls. Review: I’m so disappointed! I was told to go see Alexis for hair color. She was so rude and had an attitude with me. It’s not my fault that she agreed to see me for consultation, knowing the history of my hair. I understand that hairstyles do not like box dye, but it’s not like the end of the world. There are ways around it, and at least you could’ve been nicer instead of answering me with such attitude for example” unless you want hot root?!” With a condescending attitude. I felt like I was being picked on entire time. She literally did not give me a smile until I brought the clarifying shampoo. Although I tried to explain to her that I have a chronic hair loss problem due to an auto immune disease after having Covid, she continued to disagree with me saying “this does not look like new growth, it’s a damage from previous hair color treatment” I’m just so disappointed in you, Alexis. Please try to be respectful to others.

This was my first time getting my hair cut by a new person in almost a decade, and I did weeks of research before booking an appointment. Nadia was so welcoming and did such an amazing job! I came in so nervous with a couple photos and an idea of what I wanted, and Nadia went above and beyond. I have been getting compliments for weeks about my hair. An amazing atmosphere and highly recommend Nadia, especially if you are looking for a wolf or shag-like haircut!
