Went here for the first time a few weeks ago to get a silkpress with Yohanse. I had booked an appt for 6pm but for some reason he was already servicing two people when I got there a little before 6. Orquídea then took me in and washed my hair and while washing my hair she put PERM in my natural hair. She lied and said it was a deep conditioner because my hair was very dry. She then proceeded to apply immense amount of heat even after I told her I didn’t want too much heat because it would cause damage. I didn’t notice it was permed until I washed my hair a couple of weeks later and the smell of perm would not leave my hair and my curly hair would not curl, my hair was also very silky to the touch so it’s very obvious . I used to perm my hair until I was about 20 years old so I know the smell. She only placed it in one part of my head (middle top). Do not recommend this salon if you care about your natural hair. Dominican salons are known for this, but I guess I didn’t learn my lesson until now. Never again.

I got a silk press with a trim. It was beautifully done by orquidea. This is the only salon I go to when I'm in New York. I trust that I will always leave happy. 10/10 highly recommend. Very professional and great service 👏🏽

I received a silk press, trim and layers to frame my face and I must say it was a beautiful experience. Orquidea took his time and walked you through the process and gave suggestions. He really loves what he does. This was my first time there and I definitely will be going back. Definitely 10/10

I literally just went to them 5 mins ago. I was standing outside for over 10 mins ringing the bell. They had Micheal Jackson blasting so loud I could hear it from outside. Ladies that were getting their hair done seen me at the door and wouldnt even tell the workers someone was outside. Two of ladies who work at the salon came to the door with their faces all twisted and stink. They wouldn't open the door. They looked me up and proceeded to talk to each other on front of me. They looked down like I was a bum or trying to rob them. They spoke to me through the glass door instead of opening the door and having a proper conversation with me. This isn't the first time I came to the salon. All I wanted to do was make an appointment.

I had such an amazing experience! My hair was damaged and one of the owners took such great care of me! I received a deep conditioner with the LED infrared light. He explained to me that the light helps open my hair follicles to make sure the product was penetrating my hair and not just on top. I also received a trim. We spoke about my healthy hair journey and what to look forward to. Highly recommend! 10/10

10/10 experience! The entire staff is sweet but Yojanse is super talented and I will definitely return. A little background: I’ve been through put through the wringer trying to find a salon that can do full highlights that don’t look blotchy, as well an even blunt cut for the past THREE years. I was apprehensive about trying a new salon but Yojanse was able to capture my needs and more. He even asked what I don’t like or want to see before starting this process. Super happy with how even my color is and how PERFECT the haircut turned out. He is very detailed in his work and my experience was magical. Thank you so much for the time and care you put in to my hair ❤️❤️❤️

I have natural hair and have been blow drying my hair on and off for years. Orquidea's silk press was the longest lasting blowout I've had - my roots stayed fresh for two full weeks! They also take care of your hair to prevent heat damage. My new go to salon!

It's a little pricey but good service. I just had a blowout done. My hair was already washed and prepared, yet I paid $65. I just thought that was too much just to blow out hair. Other than that, I appreciate being taken care of without an appointment.

I called to inquire about at least a $400+ hair style and the man who answered the phone was SO rude. You should really learn how to speak to people before deciding to go into business. I’m so disappointed as I had my heart set on this place to get my hair done for my birthday. Smh. I was willing to travel an hour and a half drive but I do value customer service so I’ll go elsewhere

I love this salon ! Not your average Dominican hair salon. I goto yojanse for everything ! My tape ins ! My bob hair cut , and his hands are growing hands ! My hair grows so beautifully every time he touches my hair !they also use really good products ! There is no cheap route with them . You pay for the best! He is not the new day and age stylist who requires your hair to be already washed before styling ! The salon is clean and trendy !! Good vibes and even offer you beverages! ! ! Good service and talent !

I wrote a 5 star review for Orquidea’s Salon some months ago. But wow…listen to this. I got a silk press for my hair at this salon which resulted in HEAT DAMAGE. I was devastated. I know that it wasn’t intentional on the stylist’s part, so I called them and told them about the heat damage to see what they could do. They told me to schedule a consultation with them so that they could evaluate the damage. So I did just that. My consultation was set for TODAY, March 11th at 10AM. I show up and the store gate is down and locked. I called them and the line didn’t even ring before ending the call. VERY FISHY. So I waited outside for 10 more minutes (which I should not have had to do) and then I finally got an answer. He told me that he thought my appointment was yesterday and that he was busy shooting something so he’d have to reschedule me. Long story short, I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews on here. They seem to pick and choose which services are important before canceling without further notice or just straight up acting like your appointment didn’t exist. Bookers beware. Now I have heat damage to my gorgeous curls and a bad taste in my mouth due to the way I was treated here.

If you have locs I do not recommend this place. My hair is a little bit past my shoulders and I got a style and deep condition. My total was $180 and took 5 hours to complete! My appointment was at 10:00 a.m. but my Stylists did not get in until 11:15. I then sat under a dryer for 2 hours meanwhile my hair only takes about 45 minutes to dry. I watched three other people get their hair done before me even though I was the first customer in the shop. I did not leave until 3:00 p.m. and my whole day was thrown off. I do not recommend if you have locs.

A great hair salon, I have been taking my daughter there ever since she was 3 years old and now she's 13 and they have always done a magnificent job on her hair. 9/22/21 Update The salon is no longer on Kingston Ave and no one knows were they moved too, the shop is locked up and the sign is took down😨. My daughter miss them so much because they done her hair for years and to see them gone is so sad 😒. I hope they will contact us to let us know where they are! Where ever they are they was the best on Kingston Ave in Brooklyn New York.

I booked my appointment a week in advance and paid a deposit. The night before I received an email reminder of the appointment with the “cancellation policy”. I arrived day of at 8:45 am (appointment at 9am). At 9:40 am i receive a email saying “family emergency, call you when i leave the hospital”. Still havent received a call about rescheduling or accommodations. Very unprofessional. I had important things to do that i could no longer do because i was unable to get my hair done. If you wanted a 4 day holiday (memorial) weekend, block out your calendar.

I used to go here at this salon I made and appointment here and I always go here i went there and I didn’t know they move so people telling me that they moved down the block so finally found the place and first they would not let me in and then he open the door and said I had to make and appointment I told him I did that already he told me to show him the email I did that and he said sorry we can’t take you so that means I spent my money rush all the way over here for them to tell me they can’t do my here and orquideas who always do my hair and she knows me she didn’t even acknowledge me at all talking Spanish and I never even got my money back they lost a customer I would never go there again I’m done with this place .

I wanted to get my hair colored blonde. I wanted a drastic change. I was able to get it and WOOOWWWW is all I can say. I have found a hairsalon that not only takes care of your Hair but also let you know step by step the process you need on taking care of your hair the correct way once you get any style or color. No questions weren't answers, Yojanse has great energy. Great music. He is very welcoming. The atmosphere was great. I will definitely be back. I found my new hairstylist. Orquidea's beauty salon is a must-visit establishment and I wholeheartedly recommend them. My mother and I visited for the first time yesterday. We each received color and styling for our natural hair from the amazing Yojanse. He is not only lovely in nature, but incredibly knowledgeable at his craft. His magical hands and sharp eye absolutely transformed us. He was patient and tended to us with such technical expertise. He and Illiana made it into a complete and memorable experience. In short, we walked in feeling unsure and walked out with a new level of confidence. My mom and I found our new beauty salon home and I owe that to Yojanse. Thank you!

I have been in search of a new place to call my salon home for yearsssss. My search had been unsuccessful until yesterday! I found my new baes! OMG this is the first time in a very long time that I felt heard and understood and even educated about my natural hair and the struggles I’ve been going through. Because of timing, I had the chance to sit in both stylist’s chairs and I highly recommend either one! I haven’t seen my hair bounce with life like this in ages. And the prices are great! They were so good that my tip for both stylists was close to the price of my entire visit. That’s how happy I was with their services! I’m definitely going back. This is my new place. And I am bringing my friends! ❤️❤️❤️

Orquidea's Salon is 1 of the very few salons in the city especially Brooklyn where you will find professional hair stylist who know how to deal with all kinds of hair without having to use heavy chemicals. They also know how to color your hair and use the best and latest hair care products. They are in the know with all hair line products and they will fix and restore your hair. Ive been coming here for years m. They know how to do weaves, extensions , braids you name it they know how. Definitely a place to check out.
