I just went to this place for the first time and got the best haircut I've had in years -- Maria was exceptionally detail oriented and really took her time to ensure that she was able to produce the look I was going for. Anthony is an artist! His services are A-1. The pricepoint is a little higher, yes, but the maintenance between cuts is almost non-existent b/c the techniques are so masterful. Imagine a cut that air dries to perfection without the need for product! Less maintenance and less product evens out the cost of his artistry over time! Book today!

Anthony Payne is the best. He’s super knowledgeable about hair and did an amazing job curating a plan for my hair with me. The haircuts last so much longer than any haircut I’ve gotten because of his attention to detail. He also taught me some techniques to style my hair. Can’t recommend him more

I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair, very wary about who touches it, dyes it and most importantly cuts it. Anthony has helped me accept my hair while caring for it and making my favorite color a reality while making it healthier (try the split ends treatment! A bastion of excellence. Anthony, in particular, has the chops to style a head of hair. In particular, longer hair. Before my appointment, my hair was a billowing mushroom constantly falling out from behind my ear and dabbing me on the nose. Anthony got it there with his shears and found a natural home for my hair. I walked out of that place with a new and improved look with an edge. Book ahead and seek no more.

Anthony gave me the hair style I've been wanting forever. He listened to what I was asking for and didn't just give me a standard men's haircut. He also pushed me a bit to go for something that he thought would look good on me, and he was right. Reactions went from "oh you got a haircut" to "that's a nice haircut!". To Anthony, every haircut is a conversation, and I definitely felt that way in his chair.

First off, the environment is very cozy and full of plants - just a really enjoyable container to get a haircut. Secondly, Anthony is incredible at his craft and an absolute wealth of knowledge. This is by far the best haircut I've ever gotten. I'm one of the many males out there who's never really understood his hair, but Anthony really educated me on the type of hair I have, steps to take to make sure it stays healthy, and did a thorough job of explaining exactly how he is cutting my hair and why. He didn't rush the process to be able to fit more clients, but rather took his time and made sure my hair got exactly what it needed. I not only left with an incredible haircut, but a deeper understanding of what I should be doing to keep my hair and scalp healthy - something I've gone my whole life without.

I walked in at 12pm for an appointment. My stylist said hello and proceeded to finishing cutting someone’s hair. Ok I though no problem, he’ll be done soon. I sat there for 10 minutes and he didn’t say one word to about time or delay. 1210 I ask if I can get an eta of when he’ll be done, he says he thinks 7 minutes. I sit there till 1230 he’s still fixing the guys hair…I sat there for 30 minutes not even a word about I’m sorry there’s a delay… he still wasn’t done… I was upset, so I got Up and I asked him what the point is to making an appointment. He said- it has its pros and cons. That was his response. Then I said you could have just told me it was going to be at least another 30 minutes delay , I could have gone out and came back. He said ‘he didn’t know how long it was going to take, and shrugged his shoulders’. And has no idea? So I simply walked out and said thanks anyway. The disregard for other peoples time and lack of professionalism from Anthony is appalling taking zero responsibility. Like what? And it sucks because he’s actually Good at cutting hair. I've gone back to Papyan twice and met with Maria. Maria did a great job cutting my hair so that it would grow out the way I wanted it to. The second time I went back for a maintenance cut and again, she cut my hair just enough to keep a clean look without cutting off too much.

Sinan is an attentive stylist, and he LISTENS! Something you think would be a given when it comes to cutting hair, but I've encountered so many barbers and stylists that either cut too much or too little and then act like they did you a favor. I've gotten my hair cut twice now with Sinan and both times he did exactly what I asked for. I will say however the haircut is listed as 45 minutes and I've walked out both times in under 30 minutes.

Sinan is incredible. I hesitate to give him a 5 star review because I don’t want everybody going there and making it hard to get it. After years of trying to find someone who could cut curly hair well, I’m so happy I found him. He listens to what you want and what issues you have and then figures out how to work with your hair to get you the best style possible.

Just moved to NY and needed a new place to get a men’s hair cut. Found Papyon and couldn’t be happier. They made me great Turkish coffee and Maria was amazing- my hair turned out great.
