I booked an appointment here, then had to cancel - cancelled my appointment on 10/10 (1 week before the appt) and was still charged in full for the appointment. I have left multiple VMs and emailed with screenshots of my charge, and have not heard anything back. Please reach out or send me the refund!

It was such a joy and an honor to sit in Nicholas’ chair! Being a curly haired blonde California girl I am very particular and cautious of my hair, but Nicholas went above and beyond in minutes. This was by far one of the best blowouts I’ve ever received and I highly recommend Nicholas for anyone who is need of styling and hair tips.

truly the WORST salon experience imaginable!! I have never left a public review before however- I have received threatening emails from this business claiming they tracked the IP address back to me of a negative review from an “Alicia” detailing an experience that I did not have. They included screenshots of my music agency and personal instagram seemingly implying that if I didn’t take down that review, they’d speak ill of my own business. I obviously can’t remove a review that I did not place… and the audacity that a business would threaten a client that *would* leave a negative review is appalling to say the least.

Horrible experience at Parlor Beauty Salon in downtown Austin, and I don’t even know where to begin. First, my appointment was pushed back by 15 minutes, which I thought I could manage. However, when I arrived, the stylist was next door ordering food. By the time my appointment finally started, another 15 minutes had passed. After a quick wash, he handed me a brush and told me to brush out my own hair. Seriously? I paid $75 for a blowout and was expected to do part of the work myself! To make matters worse, he never even asked for a reference picture and then complained that he couldn’t curl my hair because it was too thick. Laughable!! Overall, I left feeling dissatisfied and disappointed with the service. Save your time and money—go to DryBar instead!

Overall excellent bridal services for my wedding! I have been coming to Parlor Beauty the past few years for brow and lash services and occasional event makeup and have been quite happy. I decided to book them for my wedding as well for November 4th 2023. Very special shout out to Rachel (the sweet red head shown in review photos), an absolutely talented star, loved her so much she was incredible. Parlor has very reasonable event pricing and I am thrilled with how my hair and make-up turned out! A lovely and pleasant experience with both of the ladies that took care of me and everyone on my wedding day. My hair and makeup turned out even better than the trial, exactly what I wanted for both spot on. Our stylist Rachel was very kind and compassionate, and I am so thankful and grateful for our wonderful everything came out. I wanted a very specific look without too much blush and a specific lip color. My cheeks were complimented perfectly in a nice bridal glow look. Rachel combined 2 lip colors to make it come out perfectly. I desired a low hanging up-do that gave me volume and she did just that, so happy with how it came out, truly felt like an absolute dream. Rachel stayed for all touch-ups as well, it was needed and very much appreciated! The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is based on some difficulty with communication prior to the wedding to set it all up. The owner is very kind, I just needed my wedding coordinator often to mediate to keep up conversation with setting up all the details. There would be some periods of time we were not able to reach them. One last small note, I would have preferred to have tipped after services, they have an event requirement of tipping up front. Other than that, they were very talented and took care of my wedding day splendidly. I recommend Parlor Beauty for wedding services. Especially Rachel who was my beauty hero that day! Thank you very much.

Came here today as I’m visiting out of town for a family member’s wedding events. I had Nicholas and he did a fantastic blow out for me pretty effortlessly even though I have super long and thick hair. I’m happy I stumbled upon this place and would recommend it for anyone looking for a refresh! Nitasha

Horrific experience. I asked for a basic blowout (volume and soft curls). I even showed a picture for reference. The man doing my hair used no products, blow dried it straight and then attempted to use a curling iron to add curls at the bottom. I was really unhappy with how it came out and I voiced this to him. He said “well what should I do?” I was completely shocked by how rude and aloof he was. I ended up putting my hair in a pony tail and going home to shower and redo it before the wedding. And to top it all off when I went to pay he had the audacity to ask me how much I’d like to tip. I complained to management and it went nowhere.

UPDATE: this place is truly awful. Only after posting a review did someone reach out to me but in a terrible way. The owner claimed I was making the whole thing up and that I needed to take down my review. She then stated that I was just trying to get money back because I probably couldn’t afford the service. The overall interaction was disgusting and unprofessional. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE!! I wish I could give this zero stars. For reference, I have type 4C hair. I came in for a blowout and scheduled the extra time for "curly" hair. When I got there I was not greeted and when I checked in I was not aware that specific stylist was doing my hair. I received no "hello" or "my name is..." just direction on where to place my things. While washing my hair I noted to the stylist yes I have a lot of hair to which they replied oh no worries I can do it no problem. When we get to the chair I'm then asked to brush out my own hair as the stylist tries to decide what sort of product to use. About 5 minutes into the actual blowout the stylist just says ok I'm going to have to straighten this and can't do a blowout you have too much hair. I said ok that's fine. However, the stylist then proceeds to put wayyyyyyyyy too much product in my hair and it is sticky and gross at the end. They didnt even straighten all of my hair and I had to ask for parts to be redone and then after all of that proceeded to burn my forehead!! I had to go home and redo the whole thing which I was why I went in the first place! My hair still smells like perm product from the appointment. I attempted to reach out to the salon and have been completely ignored. I would not recommend going to this salon for a blowout. It's more of an instagram place than one that seems to actually be able to do hair.

Hannah (the amazing jack of all trades she is) is so so awesome. For being the ONLY lash tech here , she has amazing patience and really works with her clients . But lashes aren’t the only thing she offers! She also has like the most availability I’ve ever seen, because she truly loves what she does and wants to be there for us! The environment here is beautiful! It’s full of smiles and laughter with such nicely done decor that I’ve really only seen executed in SOHO! I’m a lash loyalist, so ever since my first set a few months ago I’ve only and will only return to parlor. Their Customer Service is stellar, they respond so quickly and politely, and they always answer the phone during business hours! Also I’m a germaphobe and this is one of the only salons I’ve ever walked into and instantly felt comfortable . There is obviously a strict cleaning schedule they follow and it’s very obvious, heck I haven’t ever seen a fingerprint on the front door hah! But anyways , GO TO PARLOR RIGHT NOW!!! lots of love -

I came in town with my sister, and heard from her friend about Parlor beauty bar. Our stylist was very helpful to us, Nicholas was able to blow dry my hair and style the way that I wanted. My hair normally doesn’t hold a curl, but my hair was still curled the morning after. Thank you!

I have had my hair blown out for events with Nicholas twice now, and I have never received so many compliments. Nicholas has decades of experience, is so skilled at his craft, and will leave you feeling like a supermodel. Nicholas is warm, easy going, listens to exactly what you want to achieve and then makes all your hair dreams come true. Cannot recommend his services enough!

I showed the sylist a photo of the blowout style I wanted and verbally described it as "volume with soft curls." They ended up blow drying my hair flat and using a straightener to make waves with straight ends. It looked awful, unfortunately. I politely told the sylist that I didn't like it and wished I had gotten what I asked for. They said that if I showed them a photo of what I wanted that would help. I was so confused because I did at the beginning of the appointment and got the exact opposite of what I asked for. It hurt to have to pay for the "blowout" that wasn't a blowout. I had to rush home to shower and restyle my hair before the event.

I was in Austin for a work trip and was recommended to Parlor Beauty Bar from the front desk lady at my hotel. Parlor is a super cute place, it is very warm and inviting. I had my appointment with Nicolas. He gave me one of the best blowouts I have ever had. It’s the next day and I’m in the airport and it still looks perfect. Thank you Parlor Beauty!

Parlor is the perfect destination when you're wanting to be pampered. I have been going here for years and have tried almost all their services. I get blowouts here twice a week. My hair has never looked better, and I'm constantly receiving compliments on my hair. I've also had my brows tinted and tweezed. Rachel has done my makeup for multiple events, and I always feel like a goddess. This is my go-to beauty bar! I will not go anywhere else.

I made an appointment for lash and brow services. This place has a strict 48 hour cancellation policy. A lot can happen within 48 hours, and if you need to cancel or even reschedule, they charge you 100% for the services you seek. I came down with flu-like symptoms-coughing, fever, chills, you name it. Because of their policy I seriously contemplated showing up anyways. I decided that I could not in good conscience risk getting their technicians sick (especially before thanksgiving) so I called to explain. The lady on the phone thanked me for not coming in and said she was going to talk to her manager and see if I can get a one-time grace since I’m a new customer. I told her that would be fabulous and I would sing their praises! I knew being honest would pay off, they’d understand and have compassion! HELL NO! They immediately charged my card, and sent me an email stating that I canceled. I tried emailing them and also call, but no one wants to talk to me. Some lucky person out there got $145.00 handed to them for doing nothing. This business isn’t even going to give me the credit to come back when I’m feeling much better. I should have shown up anyways! Go somewhere else where you can actually talk to someone and they don’t hide for cowardly taking your money without serving.

I've been here twice now -- one for my civil ceremony wedding and for my traditional wedding ceremony. Both times Morgan did my makeup/hair and I can't tell you how happy I was with the outcomes! I'm not that big on makeup so looking natural is super key for me, and she nailed it both times. For my traditional ceremony I also needed help putting on my tikka (a South Asian hair piece) and Morgan was able to help me with no issues! Highly highly recommend. Got so many compliments on my hair and make up both times.
