Paul Chambers and his wife Wendy are two of the best Hair CARE stylists in the city of Chicago. I love Paul's coloring style and Wendy can do any hair style from the 70's to now. This is a must visit for people of all creeds and ethnicities....Paul and Wendy will definitely take care of your hair.

Even though this review is a little overdue due to life getting in the way, I couldn’t be happier to share my experience with Paul. From the moment I walked in, Paul made me feel so welcomed and really took the time to ask how I wanted my hair to look and feel. He carefully walked me through each step of the process and took his time to ensure the result was exactly what I envisioned. My hair has come to life again, and I’ve been receiving compliments everywhere I go, whether it’s styled or not! If you live around the Loop or South Loop, I highly recommend booking with Paul. The entire experience was simply wonderful!

Probably the best salon experience I've ever had. Would recommend to anyone, he knew what I needed intuitively, and spent hours freshening my hair up and giving my wolf cut way more volume. 11/10 experience

Went to get my hair cut by Paul based on the reviews he has received and I was looking for a good hairstylist in the area. It was probably the best haircut I have gotten. Paul is a perfectionist and took his time getting it right. I am so happy with my haircut. Found my new hairstylist in Chicago :). Thanks, Paul.

I’m always beyond pleased when leaving Deanna’s chair. She really understands the needs of curly/coily/kinky hair and my afro has never looked better! I love how she cuts my hair in its natural state, and the fact that her cuts look even better as my hair grows is like the gift that keeps on giving. The Paul Chambers products make me want to give away every other hair product on my shelves. My hair is so soft and my curls are defined with no crunchiness. I have multiple textures (soft and curly in the front and sides, drier/kinkier in the crown and softer/silkier curls in the back), so I appreciate that I was instructed on the best ways to use the products on each section to maximize my results at home. I absolutely love everything about my experience with Deanna at the Paul Chambers Salon!

Extremely clean area! Greeted very warmly upon my entrance and seated immediately. Great vibe. This is the only salon that I would trust to properly deal with my hair. Paul Chambers extensive knowledge and skill are truly unmatched.

I have natural hair. I asked for a silk press my hair was not damaged at all. I have a strenuous routine. I cheated on my stylist with Paul. And he gave me heat damage and my hair will never be the same. I am devastated. He told me he “doesn’t believe in heat protectant” I should’ve just left then but I left him finish. And I paid 150$ for heat damage.

I loved my time at the salon! You can really tell they know what they are doing and you trust them completely with your hair. It is nice to have a hairdresser downtown, who knows hair and isn’t over priced.

Mr. Chambers was very nice and extremely knowledgeable! He fit me into his scheduled at the last minute since I came from out of state. He spent so much time discussing my hair, style suggestions, and how to take care of my hair. The appointment never felt rushed. I would highly recommend him and his salon-my hair has never looked so beautiful!

Paul did an amazing job on my hair and asked plenty of questions to make sure we were on the same page. He checked in often during the cut and has great experience and confidence cutting Asian hair! You can tell he cares about his clients and communicates with you throughout the whole process. Paul and his team were welcoming and kind, and I will definitely be returning!

Best haircut I’ve ever gotten!! My hair is straight and fine, and there is a lot of it. This means that it oftentimes can hang heavy and lifeless, even with traditional layers. Paul looked at my hair and suggested putting layers *under* my hair to give it more volume and it looked so great - so much more body in a natural looking way! It was the first time I walked out of a salon loving my hair!!

Friendly, professional and clean atmosphere. Paul cuts my hair in a way that makes my natural curl pattern pop...love it! I highly recommend for natural hair. Oh, I need to mention that his hair products are fantastic.

I am visiting Chicago for a fancy wedding, and looked for a salon to get my hair done that was close to the hotel. Paul was really great at communicating in advance to ask about the look I wanted, and did a great job. My wish he were in my home town so I can see Paul more often!

I have never had an experience like this with any salon/stylist. I booked my appointment over a month ago to have a simple style done for a wedding this was on June 11th. I beyond thrilled to have Paul do my hair and was looking forward to it. However, at 7pm on June 10th (the night before the wedding), he emailed me to cancel, saying "thats not a style that I do". First of all, as a well known stylist and with his amount of experience, that is just plain ridiculous. Second of all, he knew I needed this done for a wedding the next day. It was incredibly inconsiderate of him to cancel on me at 7PM the night before, leaving me stranded with no one to style my hair. Not to mention, he had over a month to be ridiculous and tell me that he was not interested to styling my hair the way I had requested. So I spent the entire next morning (the day of the wedding) calling every salon in town tryin to find ANYONE who could do my hair. On a Saturday in June, with multiple weddings happening, of course everyone was booked I am extremely shocked by the lack of customer service at this salon as well as the just plane rude attitude of this supposed incredible hair stylist. So beware before choosing to book an appointment with Paul. I have no respect at this point for a "professional" who pulled something as horrific as Paul did. I strongly suggest that h and his entire team re-evaluate their attitudes and take a refresher course on etiquette and business 101. AWFUL!

Paul Chambers salon is my all time favorite salon. I am half Hispanic and have found that most hairdressers make mistakes with my hair in terms of both color and cut. They seem to have a one fits all approach and that just doesn't work on my hair. Paul is full of knowledge and expertise in working with ethnic and difficult hair but does amazing work on any type of hair. He is really the only person that I actually trust with my hair. He does a great job with color and cut so that I can wear my long hair straight or curly.  I also appreciate his level of honesty. He is all about  maintaining the integrity of the hair and will steer you clear of things that will damage your hair. I am an hour and a half away but the trip is worth it.

Tremendous!!! Paul is friendly, inviting, easy to talk to. He clearly cares so much about his work and for doing right by his clients. He did a FANTASTIC job cutting my woefully fine, straight hair and gave it VOLUME which I honestly thought was impossible. If you struggle with fine, flat hair I cannot recommend him enough (I’m sure he’s great with all styles, but this is the only type of hair I’ve ever had haha).
