Completely failed the students. They are graduating without being able to finish a haircut. They aren't passing the state boards. Only focusing the people who have been cutting before joining the school, and disregarding the ones who need the help. 20 haircuts in 1 year of school for a student? Unacceptable

I went there since my daughter recommended it and also because she is an instructor there. Even though she cuts my hair, styles, etc., I needed help washing my hair, drying and styling it after having shoulder joint replacement surgery along with having hand surgery also. After trying to wash hair at home, my daughter suggested going to the school and one of the students could do it. IT WAS GREAT! I went once a week for a month and then I started doing it myself. I did tip each student that did my hair. My daughter aways cuts my hair, so I can't say anything on that subject. It was a great experience.

Got a major chop done today by Elijah L. I am so very pleased with the entire experience. I was very nervous going in as this was a big change for me. Elijah chatted with me and made me verycomfortable throughout the cut. He was very kind and took his time ensuring that he gave me an incredible cut and style, both of which he accomplished in excess. I am very pleased and look forward to hearing his name throughout the barber scene once he graduates.

Andy did a great jo! Went in knowing full well to not expect excellence and was pleasantly surprised. He was professional and paid great attention to detail. I predict Andy will have a successful career, even if I am his mom!

I went in at 1 pm and left at 4:30 all i wanted was a simple curl on my hair and simple make up for my graduation the girl doing my hair used a flat iron to curl TEXTURED HAIR she was moving slow and all the curls fell out so she had to get 3 more girls on my head they did the same thing and the curls fell out again and one girl put my lashes on and by the time i got to my car they were Hanging off…

Hannah S. Is a great hairdresser. She cut my hair and it is fabulous! I was nervous with it being a school but she is amazing. If you need a haircut I highly recommend her!!!

kylee did my hair beautifully during their super service week this year. I was very nervous about the color combo i was doing, but afterwards i fell in love with it. the atmosphere was nothing but welcoming, caring, and more. the main people (the teachers probably) were very nice and complimented me and my hair along with being very nice to the students. 10/10 reccomend!!

I’ve been going to the Paul Mitchell the School Wichita for several years (at least 10) and have had nothing but great experiences, services (cut, color/balayage, deep conditioning, scalp treatments, style and etc.) students, employees and faculty (all except 1, but she’s gone now, thank goodness, she was clearly and blatantly, but tried covertly to be prejudiced against miniority students, I witnessed it personally and voiced it to the School as well as other instructors). If there ever was an issue with a service, it was corrected. Generally speaking, my experience(s) has/have been positive. Nevertheless, I can no longer recommend Paul Mitchell the School Wichita and I am considering not returning once my current student graduates. My issue with Paul Mitchell The School Wichita started a little over a year ago with the salon closing on Saturdays as of 01/01/23. What salon with multiple stylists isn’t open on Saturdays? Almost every chair was full, with clients waiting at the door, the waiting area full and multiple walk-ins. Now I see students with empty chairs during the week, playing on their phones (while still getting hours counted because they’re on the floor) or just constantly doing doll heads because there aren’t enough clients/walk-ins/appointments for them. The School needs to open the salon back up on Saturdays, not only for client convenience but also for student experience. I was originally told the School may do and offer 1 Saturday a month by appointment only, but that progressed into no availability on Saturdays (even though your website still says Saturday hours are 9:30-4:30). I’ve spoken with at least 3-4 students since salon closing Saturdays and every single one wants and wanted to work Saturdays for the experience of having back to back clients, the client diversity, and just experience of working on Saturdays as many stylists tend to do and etc. My 2nd and current issue is now as of today (03/01/24) Paul Mitchell the School Wichita is going cashless. Which is fine, I usually pay by credit card anyway. However, I always tip my stylist. I would pay and tip with my credit card, school would then give cash tip to students. Now the students have to have their own PayPal, Venmo, Zelle and etc. to receive tips when clients don’t bring cash. What a way for the School to take more money away from and penalize their students. For example, the students possibly having to pay fees for the electronic services to even get their tips, as well as clients forgetting to tip through electronic services, clients forgetting to get a student’s information in order to tip them through the electronic services and inconveniencing clients who forget or don’t carry cash. The School has just possibly cost that student their hard and well earned tip. The students don’t get any of the money for the cost of the services, which is fine. Nonetheless, students usually have to buy their own products unless they want to fight over 1 bottle/can of something, wait for it to become available, or spend time tracking it down because another student has it and they have to ask them to use it; which is a disruption and hindrance to them, as well as an aggravation and annoyance to the client. Paul Mitchell the School Wichita, you can do better! Not only better for your clientele, but also your students; as they are your most valuable and important asset. This is something that Paul Mitchell the School Wichita has seemed to have completely forgotten, grossly ignored and almost utterly abandoned. All while your students have to sacrifice and suffer the consequences of Paul Mitchell the School Wichita’s poor decision making, the overall lack of consideration for their current education, confidence in their skills and abilities, their overall well-being, their future career, their future success in the industry and their future income earning capabilities and potential, as well as paying off their student loan debt. Shame on you Paul Mitchell the School Wichita!

I asked for a silk press they just gave me a real good blowout or something I could have done at home. My hair was dry if they do not not know how to do it they should have told me instead of playing in my hair.

I wouldn’t recommend this school to anybody you’re not learning anything half the time the teachers mess around with each other and the students most the teachers treat you wrong for the color of your skin all of them should be replaced and evaluated and ran background checks on they pick on you if they don’t like you and make you not want to go to school

Wasn't totally satisfied with the level of experience the hair cutter had.. was in the chair over an hour and half.. and then the supervisor had come over and take over to finish.. in the past I've had great hair cuts and ATM I have some uneven spots and cowlick isn't short enough and back looks uneven Would love a complimentary hair cut
