Niki brings craft and artistry to every session and I would highly recommend her! I’ve been going to her for cuts and color for 15+ years. I’ve had short hair, mid-length, light, dark. Niki understands how to work with the weight, texture, thickness of each person’s hair, their face shape, plus what’s going to work for you in terms of maintenance and lifestyle. You can tell she is passionate about her job. I leave her salon feeling stylish and refreshed!

I have been going to Niki for years! I love her studio but most important my hair has never looked better. She is stylish and gives great advice on the right style and color. She also did my hair for my wedding, which I LOVED. She is incredibly knowledgeable but also fun to talk to while my hair is getting done! Amore :)

I’ve been seeing Niki for more than 12 years and have gotten into a “won’t let anyone else touch my hair” situation. She is incredibly skilled and so good at personalizing her cut and color to the personality and lifestyle (like time to fuss with it each day) and preferences of her clients. She is also a warm and lovely person and this space reflects her stylish but grounded, authentic energy. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Nikki gives THE BEST highlights and cuts in the Mountain west region (not just Denver). I drive from a neighboring state to have her do my hair 4 times a year. Totally worth it.

Their new location is super cute and has a great vibe! Scotti did a fantastic job with my hair. I'm always nervous about trying a new stylist since I have thick curly hair but she knows what she's doing. I was super pleased with the movement of the cut and the blonde color. Thank you!

I have specifically gone here for Carla Ruiz, she is an amazing hairstylist that truly listens to your wants and will only do the necessary. I have gone from being bright red to blonde, to brown and back to red. All this without having to chop my long hair off. TALENT. She is a loving and down to earth person that anyone will love. You will without a doubt not want to lose her.

I love Scotti, she’s very kind and easy going. Every time I come in, I give her very vague guidance as to what I want and she always talks me through the process (like going lighter in color) and my hair is very healthy since seeing her. I always leave feeling refreshed and confident in my new hair do. I’m really happy I stumbled upon Scotti and Needle in the Hay!!

I am a hairstylist in Evergreen, and I drive to see Kayla. She is amazing!! I followed her from Fox & Jane Salon because she is so talented with cutting. This time I got color too, and it is literally flawless and just like the inspiration pictures. I admire how she values education (she is Vidal sassoon trained) and is up to date on the latest hair trends. Everytime I leave her chair I feel more confident and my hair is sooo shiny and healthy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 highly recommend.

I have been going to Nikki for cut and color for over 5 years. She does an outstanding job on my blonde color, getting it right every time. Nikki is a very well trained stylist and I highly recommend her. She is also the owner of the salon and hires other great stylists. The salon is a beautiful, relaxing, clean space with fabulous products.

I love Needle in the Hay! I moved to CO in 2016 and it took me almost 3 years to find a hair stylist and salon that I clicked with. I’ve seen a few different stylists and they’ve all knocked it out of the park!!

Kayla is a miracle worker. I have thick hair with a mind of its own and after an afternoon at Needle in the Hay with Kayla I feel like a new lady. Not only can this gal cut hair, but her coloring is impeccable. This is my 3rd time in this salon and 2nd appointment with Kayla (referred to me by the salon owner Niki and former stylist Michael). The last two visits have been following the COVID shut down and I have been thoroughly impressed with how Niki has managed the reopening. She is prioritizing staff and client safety over building the salon's capacity back up quickly. Kayla is great at listening to what you want but I love that she actually has suggestions and opinions about what might be a good change. When you color and cut your hair, stylists often don't spend much time on the cut. Kayla spends a lot of time and is very precise with her cut and has offered to curl my hair both times I have seen her. I haven't had to wait so the salon seems to manage appointments well and I love my hair!

This is the second time I’ve visited the salon and love the staff and Kayla is so talented and amazing. She is so sweet and of course, she made my hair look absolutely gorgeous! The staff is doing a great job of keeping everything clean during Covid and I felt really comfortable being here with all measures in place. I’ll be back again soon!

Carla is phenomenal!! After my last stylist moved to SF, I was in search for someone for excellent balayage/cuts and I feel so lucky to have found Carla. After checking out her Instagram (@carlaaaruizzz) and reading her bio, I knew I had found "the one." My balayage/cuts have been wonderful, and I continue to send anyone looking for a new stylist her way. Her attitude is so positive and friendly too, her love for her work truly shows and I love coming in to see her at the salon. It's great to find a stylist that can double as a friend, and Carla is definitely that - it's impossible to not adore her. She really prioritizes the long-term care of your hair - talking about home care, the best tempo for future cuts/coloring, and didn't push any products on me that were out of my budget or that I didn't truly need to maintain my hair health after the coloring. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it since, which is really saying something since I've been getting balayage since 2014! I'm also so impressed with how much time she puts into continuing her skills - taking courses/clinics in her free time and learning the best techniques for different hair types and styles. 100% would recommend Carla, no hesitation - go see her!!

I've been going to Kayla for about a year now and I can't say enough good things. I moved from the east coast to Denver and frequently visited Manhattan salons and was not expecting to find quality equal or in this case better than what I had experienced there. I'm completely blown away each visit and my haircut always grows amazingly as well (which is such a plus!) love this salon, their cleanliness and the openness of the space! You guys rock!

The BEST salon in Denver!!! Tried salons in the Bay Area for 2-3x the cost and truly nothing compares. Great vibe, kind people, and amazing work. Wouldn’t trust anyone but them with my blonde. Go see Kayla! You won’t be disappointed.

This salon is doing an amazing job following safety precautions during this time to keep their clients and staff safe! I have been in once since they have reopened and felt very comfortable and people are well spaced out. I see Nikki who does an amazing job with both my cut and color. I have curly hair that can be unruly and she does such a good job cutting my curly hair that it looks good whether I wear it curly or straight. Both my cut and color grow out really well!
