Always have a lovely experience coming to this place. Gary is fantastic if you can get an appointment with him. He can take the mess that is my hair whenever I walk in there and freshen it up perfectly. The staff here is also very nice!

Got a cut with Erica. Booked for a haircut and was coerced into paying more for a wash that I didn't need that she insisted on. I was late out of a meeting, and called ahead to let penzone german village know I'd be around ~10 min late, and was told this would be okay. I showed up 5 minutes late, and waited an additional 5-10 minutes for Erica to come take me back. She complained about other clients cancelling appointments on her while I was in the chair. I'd come in asking for a curtain bang, with pictures of my own previous haircuts to show. As she's cutting my bangs, she asks if it was short enough and I respond "No, I feel like I'm going to tell you to cut up to my eyes anyway" and she responds with "well, I'm 20 minutes late to my next appointment." I acknowledge I started the appointment off by being late, but she insisted on washing my hair (and charging for it!) vs wetting it, and I was only 5 minutes late! Completely unprofessional, and frankly rude. I'm not sure what I did to warrant such a response, but I should not have paid for the upgrade to the wash cut and style or whatever, and definitely should not have tipped. If you head over to penzone german village, maybe don't book with Erica! I won't be heading back. EDIT = looked at the booking page and there was nothing about a wash NOT being included in the description of the "haircut" vs a "haircut and style"... i didn't need or ask for a style, so not only was Erica unnecessarily rude, but she scammed me out of $15. EDIT 2 = owner commented and asked me to reach out with my name and number, which I did, and all I got was a snarky response from whoever mans their texting line. What a ridiculous company.

I left the review below over five years ago. I've stayed with Josie that entire time & will remain her client for as long as she's at this location. She is as committed to the quality of her work as she is to the quality of her relationships with her clients. Josie is a true professional. She cuts my hair better at the stylist level than any director level person ever has...& for far less money.

My wedding stylist fell through and I booked a last minute appointment at Penzone. I only wanted a simple wave but they did an incredible job. My hair stayed cute all night even with all the dancing 😁

My wife had an appointment yesterday and was simply never taken back. There was no communication for being over 30 minutes behind, “oh just 5 minutes” with no follow up or follow through. What’s the point of making an appointment to get your hair done before a wedding if you don’t even receive the service. I normally don’t leave reviews, I tried calling —-couldn’t get ahold of anyone (shocking). What a waste of everyone’s time. Come on, do better.

Love my stylist… but the salon is in need of an upgrade. Feels tired and not “grand” like other CP salons. Exclusive location but meh inside. Broken windows for months. Need to enforce private parking…hard to find a space.

Paid in cash. They charged my credit card for the amount of $120 when my bill was $115. I paid left the cashier at the cash register a $5 tip and my stylist $20 tip. It took over a week to get this resolved. Manager Kerstan ‘s word is worth nothing. She advised me that she would call me to follow up. Because I had to stop by the salon to address this because Caroline’s word is worth nothing because she advised it was taken care of. I hope the stylist got her tip. I think the cashier put the hundred dollar bill and two twenties in her pocket. Why charge my card.

Erica is the best! She not only corrected my hair-color-gone-wrong from another salon, but perfectly executed my inspiration photo after never having worked with my hair before. I’m never trusting anyone else again. Thank you, Erica for saving my hair!

Decided it was time I finally go to a salon to revitalize my hair after years of just trimming it myself at home and I am so glad I did! I saw Erica & she was so nice and welcome! I left the salon feeling like my hair was exactly how I wanted it and can’t wait to go back again.

Do not go to PENZONE in German Village if you have even semi curly or wavy hair. I have not done my own hair in over six years. I go weekly to my hairstylist for a blowout and every three months for a trim. But I wanted to find a hairstylist closer to home and was hoping PENZONE was my answer. At PENZONE, I made an appt with the most expensive and seasoned professional, asked for a trim, and the hairstylist treated me as if I was a burden. I only wanted half an inch- inch maybe cut off of the ends, and that was it. The hair stylist washed me once, blow dried me while smacking me in the face with the brush, burnt me twice with the flat iron, and was overall a poor experience. Lastly, I am left with a lopsided hairdo, layers that I did not ask for, and over 3 inches cut off my hair. Before (white shirt) and after (tan shirt) pics posted.

It's RIDICULOUS that when you call the store where you made your appt you can't even reach that store and it's just some random person located god knows where and they won't let you talk to the receptionist at the actual location where you have your appt. Very rude and impersonal. What, yr company is so big you can't even let your clients talk to the actual people and location at where they made and have their appt with? So you can't tell them you're going to be late because you can't talk to them. It's as bad as these big companies where you have to push 20 numbers just to talk to a human. I want to talk to the person who is in the actual store where I'm getting my hair cut at.

Penzone German Village is where I'll be going from now on! Friendly, unpretentious atmosphere, reasonable rates, and flexible evening hours. Everyone I see leaving the salon has beautifully cut hair. Josie is my stylist, and her technical skills and aesthetic sensibility are absolutely first-rate. The cut I most recently asked for is infamously difficult to execute, but Josie nailed it perfectly. She really cares about her work and takes time to get her cuts just right. As another reviewer mentioned, she is also a lovely, kind person.

A great place to come for a day of self care! I love being able to grab a coffee at one of the shops nearby, get a great cut and color then stroll around the brick streets. Parking is available in a lot or on the street. Antonieta is my go to girl! She has a heart of gold, genuine conversation and is incredibly talented. As someone who doesn't know a lot about what to ask for when it comes to getting my hair done, she listens to me and is able to deliver the perfect cut and color. Highly recommend her for balayage. Appreciate her dedication to being a continous learner in her art

I went to the Penzone Dublin location for hair and skin services for about 15 years while living in the area. It was always great. I have not been able to find a salon like Penzone in my new city so a couple of months ago I went back to Penzone Dublin for color and haircut. I wasn't thrilled with the visit. In every aspect it was subpar to what I had experienced in the past. I didn't want to give up on Penzone salons because of a one-time disappointment so recently I decided to try German Village. My reservations about driving for 2 hours for a hair appointment near downtown Columbus were gone as soon as I entered the salon and met Antonieta. I had her full attention during the 2+ hours I was there. She not only did a wonderful job covering my grey roots to perfectly match the rest of my hair (not easy on thick hair like mine), but gave me the prettiest layered haircut I've had in many years. I didn't even need to show her a picture of the hairstyle I wanted. She nailed it! I LOVE how my hair looks. It was worth the drive.

I’ve always been a big fan of Penzone. Everyone here does SUCH a great job and is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Today I saw Antonieta and she did an AMAZING job brightening and blending my blonde for me. And she was so sweet! I’ll definitely be coming back to her in the future. :) if you’re thinking about visiting, don’t hesitate to check this salon out!

Kat is the best stylist in Colombus! Every time I sit in her chair, she elevates my self confidence and I walk away feeling gorgeous.
