This location has butchered my hair 2x after my normal stylist left then the next one I trusted also left. I have since drifted to find a place but ended up back at Penzone because I don't want to drive 40 mins away and spend hours away to get my hair done. After the second butchering, I decided to complain bc it was going to be super expensive to have it fixed by another place. I discovered during the fix appointment that the demi color was made a permanent color bc the stylist that butchered my hair also used a higher strength of developer. Thankfully Colleen could do a semi over to fix the color TEMPORARILY (I will now have to keep paying bc the wrong color was turned into a permanent). She also fixed the horrendous cut that was only supposed to be a thinning out the bulk around my jawline. I'm going back to see Colleen but I'm not sure what the deal is with the stylist here. Director and senior directors are the only ones that have done my hair, btw.

First time visiting, I was warmly greeted. The attendant gave me a tour of the building. Then graciously took my coat and hung it in the coat room for me. I chose a fruit infused water and waited in the lounge area for my appointment. The bartender/cafe worker checked to see if I would like any further options. I read and sipped my water with other guests. Melia came to the lounge and walked me back to her station for my consultation. I had a would cut and style with Melia. She is beautiful, professional and talented. From the shampoo to completion. I purchased the promotional gift card and re-booked! I am looking forward to my next appointment and already told friends about my experience!

Melia did a great job. It was my first time at Penzone and by far the best salon experience I’ve had. I’ve been on a search for a hair stylist I can regularly go to and this is definitely it. I can’t wait to rebook my next appointment, thank you Melia! <3

Misleading Service! I just had a $500 - 90 minute JetPeel Regeneration treatment done at Penzones in Gahanna.The Penzone web page states it's a 90 minute service. The technician was very kind, very informative. We did speak for 10 minutes about my skin care. The JetPeel service only lasted an hour. When asked why the service wasn't longer management told me its about the steps in the service not the time. They stated that the rest of the time was built-in for room cleanup. Do yourself a favor and book the $350 service, not the $500 service. I will not be booking the service again.

My wife went here because her usual nail salon was booked. Gel nail polish barely lasted 10 days and then flaked off. Terrible customer service. Manager did not want to make it right by redoing her nails or giving a refund because it was past 7 days. She admitted that they do not tell their customers that this is the policy, so buyer beware. My wife gets her nails done monthly to 6 weeks at her regular nail salon. Their customer service is top notch. Maybe because it is not a corporate-owned salon. Horrible experience. She'd give 0 stars if she could. Go somewhere else.

The Airbrush Make Up Service by Lydia was amazing and lasted the whole day during my city hall ceremony and our photo-shooting. The look on the pictures looked very natural. Also the hairstyle by Pallas was great. She worked very professional and made exactly the same look that I wished for. And also was long lasting, till the end of the celebration’s night

Melia was absolutely wonderful and did a beautiful job on my hair. I had been to three separate salons, wanting the same thing but not getting what I asked and she finally made it come to life and everything I wanted. My hair feels and looks amazing and she is such a wonderful person to talk to as well. I highly recommend her services.

Violet was amazing, very cool an we vibed, I loved the look of the place, very nice. I like how I didn't feel pressured to buy anything an that made me want to try things out more. My hair turned out great. Better than I elected expected, Already rebooked!

Hair straightening was charged 108 for color n straightening. I specifically told her I want thin flat iron but she just blow dried n did flat iron for less than 2 min. My appointment was until 4:39 she finished by 4. Anything u ask she is being rude n finally she didn't flat iron my hair n charged 108 plus 10.00 tip for shoulder length color n blow dry. Big rip off . Hair color was not done well still have Grey hair sticking on top layer.

I love PENZONE! I go for lots of services, but mainly waxing and hair. I’ve been seeing Porter at the Gahanna location for my cut and color for YEARS, and my 8 year old daughter sees her as well! I can’t say enough about her and her talents as a stylist! She listens, asks questions and explains things to make sure I know exactly what I am looking for and the outcome and it’s always just as I imagined! My daughter loves her salon days too and has deemed them “Porter PENZONE Day!” Porter is simply amazing! I highly recommend her and this fantastic location in Gahanna!

Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Charles Penzone in New Albany. They canceled my appointment just two hours before I was scheduled to be there, leaving me in a bind right before an important event. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances happen, the lack of accommodation was frustrating. When I suggested that they offer the next service for free as a gesture of goodwill, they refused to discuss it. All I received was a vague promise to call back in a few days, with the possibility of receiving a mere 20% discount. As a long-time customer, I expected better customer service and flexibility, especially in such situations.

Had my first appointment with Colleen at Gahanna location. Came in with a shapeless, overgrown shag and left with a cute bob-exactly what I wanted! Colleen was personable, professional and helped me decide the best style for my hair. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Reception staff very friendly too!

I had an apt booked for 130pm for a cut and highlight. I was called at 1pm saying they have to cancel bc the stylist is behind and doing a baylage (which is what I had prior done, not what I wanted today) would take too long. So I said “actually I was wanting to get my hair cut off a substantial amount and just get highlights” to which I was told “ yeah any type of highlight or baylage would push her back so we can’t today” I took off work to get this done, which is not easy to do. Also if I were to cancel 30mins before the appointment I would get charged but they can cancel so shortly before the appointment and offer nothing for it. I understand things happen but this just didn’t seem right.

I just recently got a haircut here and left feeling super rushed and disappointed! For starters, I have never gotten a haircut that didn’t include a wash to begin with. I went in with dirty hair in a braid, looking forward to a wash before my haircut, as that is always the best part. Apparently booking a “haircut only” means they will literally cut your hair no matter what it looks like. Given that my naturally straight hair was in a braid that day, I was super upset when she started cutting at my dry, wavy hair. I spoke up and asked for a wash, to which she responded that was an add-on that I didn’t book. (The website states a blowout is not included, but says nothing about a wash not being included.) She said if she washed my hair, I would have to leave with it wet as she didn’t have time to blowdry. (Last I checked blowdrying my hair doesn’t take 25 minutes.) On top of this, I was in the chair for no more than 5 minutes. A very quick haircut with no attention to detail. I have already rebooked at a different salon a few days later to fix the unevenness and actually pay attention to what I’m asking for.

Sasha and Fran are the BEST hair stylists. Have been using Penzone for over 15 years. My mother uses Fran, my son has seen her, and I see Sasha. They are truly the best and cutting edge in Ohio.

I had a CBD manicure today first time ever here at this location and it was awful, there was no hand massage or scrub and not worth the money . Very disappointed

My appointment was over in 17 minutes- including checking in, chatting about the haircut I wanted (but did not get at all) washing, cutting, and paying! The haircut is so out of style. She even curled my bangs under. Basically just looks like a five minute end trim I could’ve done myself.

Staff is usually very nice & helpful. Place is always clean & has a nice vibe. I drive the distance to see Athena for any facials or waxing. She is phenomenal.
